If you’ve ever wondered what it might feel like to time-travel to a 1970s Eastern Bloc dormitory — congratulations, this hotel offers the full experience.

The rooms come equipped with towels that appear to be original fixtures from the grand opening. The air conditioner provides the soothing nighttime ambiance of a vacuum cleaner running directly beside your pillow. In the restaurant, rainwater elegantly drips from the ceiling onto the breakfast buffet, adding a touch of natural flavor to your morning eggs.

The carpets in the corridors and stairwells are an archaeological exhibit of stains spanning several decades, and the floors creak in protest at every step — as if sharing your disappointment in being there. The key card system doesn’t actually function, so you’re handed a single brass key, like in a small-town inn from 1962. It’s charming until you realize you only get one.

The website proudly promotes a spa. It does not, however, mention that the spa has been “under renovation” for what appears to be a geological era. When I asked the manager for an opening date, I received the kind of vague smile usually reserved for politicians and magicians.

To its credit, the hotel was clearly built to handle large crowds — though only half the elevators remain operational, and those that do have buttons that tell creative lies about which floor you’re on.

In conclusion, this place is less a hotel and more a sociological experiment in disappointment.

Stay away — unless you enjoy irony served with a side of rainwater

This hotel was scandalous. The room that they said was a suite was very bad, there was mold, there was only a mattress, there was no normal room light, hygiene was very poor, the towels were smelly. Look at the booking, the rooms were 60/70 euros but they charged us 94 euros and they didn't give us a bill. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU ARE A TOURIST!! Finally, I don't recommend this hotel, you can find better and cheaper, everything left something to be desired

I honestly have no idea how this hotel has a 4-star rating. Everything about my stay was horrible. The entire place is extremely old and outdated. The towels were dirty and had visible yellow stains, clearly worn out from years of use. The room itself was filthy — the tub had dirt marks everywhere, and the sink area was covered in yellow stains.

The hair dryer was ancient and didn’t even work. The carpeted areas in the hallways and on the stairs looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. Inside the room, the curtains didn’t work properly, and even the bed was half broken. One of the elevators was out of service, and the other was very old and slow.

To make things worse, one of the receptionists was extremely rude — every time I called to raise a concern, they simply hung up on me.

Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would strongly advise avoiding this place at all costs. I genuinely don’t understand how Grand Hotel Tiziano still maintains a 4-star rating. This hotel should hold only 2 star.
