This Hotel is in a great location above the Sassi area surrounded with restaurants and View Areas of the Sassi. Free parking on the street was easy, but not plentiful. It was easy to drive close to the Hotel to drop off our luggage and check in before finding parking for our car. The hotel is spotless with a great Breakfast selection. Our room had a spectacular view of the Sassi. Within minutes you can walk to the other piazzas which are full of restaurants and shops.

We had the most beautiful stay here at the Albergo Italia, Matera. Made even more special by Paolo, he went out of his way for us, even securing us restaurant bookings, when the restaurant seemed booked out, nothing was too much trouble for him. Matera was a real bucket list place to visit for us, and the Albergo is so central and has such a great view over the city. Even with the central location, it was so quiet and peaceful there. We would not hesitate in booking there again.

Very comfortable hotel. View out our window is priceless! Staff is excellent. Breakfasts are incredibly varied. Location makes it so very easy to explore this remarkable town. Explore! Food options nearby are stellar. I recommend hiking across the valley!

The hotel has been recently refurbished to a really high standard. Room is nice, clean, comfortable.

Perfect location, right in the middle of everything. Our room had an amazing balcony and was very spacious. The only downside was that the WiFi in that room was not working while we were there, but the issue should be fixed now.

Quite good hotel, nice personnel, but not recently refurbished: old furniture, definitely not deserving the "superior" adjective. No bidet. Rooms are quiet, clean, and with a WONDERFUL view of sassi, in the heart of old Matera (very good position). No parking space
