The hotel was exceptionally comfortable, clean, and most importantly, very spacious. We stayed on the second floor, with a courtyard in front and a balcony in the back. It was also incredibly convenient for Matera's Old Town. The front desk manager, INNO, was especially kind and helpful, giving us a very thorough and detailed explanation of how to explore Matera and the most convenient parking spots. It was a truly heartwarming experience.

Breakfast ok. Room was clean and comfortable. TV had no English speaking stations. Google maps showed hotel 0.4 miles away from actual location. Staff had difficulty telling me where property actually was, when phoned in with problem. Staff helpful in scheduling City tour, but when could not locate tour guide, had difficulty helping to make connection.

Great hotel - lovely contemporary room - helpful friendly staff - fantastic continental breakfast selection. One slight negative is the location with it being a c20 minute taxi ride into the centre - Sassi.

Great hotel with the beautiful breakfast near city centre. Just keep in mind that you will not be able to walk to the centre, so you will need a car.

Good hotel on the outskirts of Matera
Hotel Cave del Sole was a nice hotel that was exactly what we needed for two nights exploring Matera.

There’s parking for around 10 cars in a courtyard in front of the hotel (plus an underground garage which looked tight to park in). This opens on to a fairly busy road - take care exiting. You really do need a car as it’s 10 mins drive to Matera. We went to a local restaurant recommended by the hotel: 5 mins drive and fine (not pretty but nice pizza).

Our room was for three: a bedroom and a sofa bed in what would normally be the sitting room - all comfortable. It was quite functional but nice - all white and clean. There was a kettle and reception kindly provided milk. Breakfast was fine and staff were helpful and friendly.

Matera btw is definitely worth including on your Puglia visit - we spent a full day there and we’re able to see most of it.

A great, functional hotel (not a ‘wow’ but very nice) that ticked all the boxes.

This hotel is really quite spectacular. Amazing staff; beautiful room; every comfort. The only thing I had an issue with was the location (a little way out of the town and close the main roads) - but I am still giving it 5 out of 5. We couldn't have been made more welcome, everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and comfortable with a fantastic bathroom. Breakfast was an Italian buffet with an excellent range of food. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Easy parking in front of the hotel. Flawless and friendly check-in with security procedures and yet all we felt were the cool, clean atmosphere with scents that changed our suffering souls into wonderful wellbeing.
Ample rooms, spotless and prepared for royals. Minibar with ample room for guest fruits and water. Ample garden table and chairs for moments of relax and reflection. The ample balcony allows for sunrise admiration or simply leaving shoes to refresh overnight.
Breakfast on the terrace again accompanied by a service oriented staff. My Cappuccino made to perfection. The hotel is an oasis which I highly recommend for fellow travellers.

Rooms are clean and modern. I can't remember having met a friendlier staff in all my years of travel. We got great dinner recommendations. It's outside the central part of town by 3 km, a 30-40 min walk or a 10€ taxi ride. The also have a nice breakfast that's included.
