This historic luxury hotel is absolutely stunning. Perfectly located in the heart of Bologna’s old town, it blends timeless elegance with modern sophistication in the most beautiful way. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt romantic, refined, and wonderfully serene.
The historic architecture is impeccably preserved, while the interiors feel fresh, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. Our room was luxurious, quiet, and incredibly comfortable—an intimate retreat despite being so centrally located.
The staff were exceptional: warm, professional, and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Andrea in the restaurant had the best recommendations for food & wine. Domenico in their bar area was amazing with drink options. Very friendly & accommodating. Every detail felt effortless and well considered.
An ideal choice for couples seeking a classy, romantic stay that truly captures the soul of Bologna. We would absolutely return.

Excellent grand style venue in the beating heart of Bologna. The bar is excellent, if a little pricey as you'd expect but with wonderful service. The perfect pitstop for a glass of fizz before you rush around Bologna devouring the pasta and mortadella.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Majestic. The building itself is a beautiful, grand historical landmark right in the heart of the city. Everything was extremely clean.
The service was top-notch from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly and always ready to help with a smile. We also loved the small, thoughtful gifts they provided during the stay.
Overall, our time here was very dreamy and relaxing. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bologna. We can’t wait to come back! :)

We were given a room that smelled like the sewer. When the manager went into the room, he claimed he could not smell it. My daughter was up all night listening to the room above barfing all night. They still charged us full price When we went down for breakfast, they accused us of bringing someone from the street with us. We told them we had three rooms and it was our daughter. They were very rude. I ordered a driver and specifically told them 5 people and a baby. They never ordered the baby car seat.

A majestic grand hotel in the very center of historic Bologna. We spent our honeymoon in this gem, and have been treated wonderfully by the hotel and its staff.
The hotel is a museum in itself, with its hidden Roman road, the frescoes and the Christmas decoration they just started setting up.
The rooms are 'old school' majestic, but the bathrooms are fully modern equipped.
The concierge was able to recommend us several nice restaurants, and also were able to arrange an exceptional room-visit doctor!
We had dinner in their fine-dining restaurant in which we were able to gaze upon the beautiful fresco at the ceiling. We loved their 'clair obscur' bean pasta dish, inspired by Italian masters.
The breakfast was great, but above all their high-quality cappuccino was the best morning treatment to start our day in historic and foodie-heaven Bologna.

HIGHLY recommend this property! Absolutely beautiful property in the best location for exploring Bologna. 5 minute walk to restaurants, shops, historic sites! We had a very stressful situation, having lost our passports on the train to Bologna. Through extraordinary efforts by both the Hotel Manager and Concierge Julia, our passports were speedily located and we got them back right away! The Manager also upgraded us to a suite which was very luxurious and appreciated after such a scary day. I encourage anyone who is looking for a centrally located luxury hotel in Bologna with exceptional customer service to select this one. You will not be disappointed!

Five star hotel with five star service! Andrea and his team were phenomenal. They made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped down from the taxi. Can't complain about the free upgrade to the Presidential suite (from our Junior suite) 😜. Hopefully the photos do it some justice. Splendid suite containing two rooms. Convenient for a family of four. They even allowed a complimentary late checkout and a good incentive for our next visit. You might need deep pockets to stay here, but I'd say if you are a fan of traditional things, this is a place to definitely stay at. Also quite central in the city of Bologna. Breakfast was good and the staff at the restaurant were friendly and patient with kids too. Comes recommended.
