Zanhotel Regina, Bologna1 / 25

Bologna, Via Indipendenza 51 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Hotel is located in the center of Bologna, very easy to reach from the city center and train station by foot or bike. The room is a little small, which is quite common in Europe, but the quality is decent. Breakfast in okay, not the greatest but also not the worst. Very friendly staff.
Very nice Hotel. Staff were very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We were able to check in early after a 22 hour travel day. Staff gave us several options for dinner. A significant amount of restaurants available to pick from. Close to the old city center. Plenty to see and do.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Zanhotel Regina, thanks to a comfortable room, excellent central location and very friendly & helpful staff.
Very clean, friendly people, but the most inconvenient room: no table, no chairs, no drawers to keep clothes, in a tiny shower there is no shelf for shampoo, no hook, no hand shower head. Advise: find another hotel.
Small, but comfortable room. Friendly staff and close to all of the sights. Lots of shopping and excellent places to eat nearby.
Front desk staff were most helpful when we were journeying around the city to view the sites of Bologna. Food, the room, air comfort and the central location was first-rate. If we return to Bologna, we will stay at SanHotel Regina. Great job!

Beautiful hotel just steps from Piazza Maggiore. I travel frequently for work and have stayed in many hotels in central Bologna, and this is among the best value. The bathroom in the room has been renovated and is very comfortable despite being a single. The breakfast is good and varied.
Absolutely ideal location for exploring Bologna. Beautiful hotel, helpful staff and a nice breakfast included. Wifi was stable. Everything was clean. The bed wasn’t too comfortable, but it’s Italy, none of the beds are comfortable. I would seriously consider staying here the next time I go to Bologna.
Nice room with comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast too! Most importantly the location was fantastic! Close to everything including the little train up to the Sanctuary San Luca.
The hotel locates at the city center.
Facilities: An old hotel with a sense of history, the overall facilities are good. It is worth noting that the toilet and shower room in the single room I booked are very close. It is difficult for me to sit down and put my legs. It is recommended to book a larger room or you will feel uncomfortable. Hygiene: Overall pass, no unclean places. Environment: The location is very good. Turn left when...

Great hostel - rooms were so spacious with a nice balcony. The amenities were excellent and there were good activities each evening. Really central location.
Friendly, welcoming staff at reception. Room very spacious and spotlessly clean.
Room and amenities were great. Staff was very helpful. Facilities are pristine and amazing. Great stay, was easy to plan, superb location.
It's relatively cheap, but non-refundable and non-changeable. It involves sharing a room with multiple people, and the conditions are basic. Consider carefully before booking; you might want to stay one night first and then decide whether you want to continue.
Every thing was great. Cleanliness, room not crowded, washroom is great, staff every shifts were nice and friendly.
It was uneventful and pleasant to stay.

Excellent location, very close to the train station, surrounded by good restaurants.
A good hotel close to the main train station. Comfortable beds and clean room. We stayed for one night when our train got cancelled, and would absolutely stay there again!
We’ve been here for 1 night, visited Ducati and Lamborghini Museos and Plants. Very nice accommodation with everything you need! Good breakfast, quiet place near heart of Bologna and 5-minutes walk from Bologna Central Station and 10-minutes walk from the heart of the city. Highly recommended hotel, a little bit vintage, but nice and warm 🤗
Old hotel, missing cabinet door at the bedroom, shower drain partially blocked, A/C not cold enough, cigarette smells on the common areas, breakfast average at the maximum. Very friendly staff at the reception. Good location if travelling by train. Overall it does not worth the value for money.
The staff at the Hotel are ver nice and kind. The breakfast was good and it had different choices to pick from. Although everything was very clean and neat, the hotel had its last renovation probably in the 2000’s, and you can tell. The lobby is very sad and it gives you a weird vibe. The wallpaper on our room was loose, and the celling our bathroom was breaking. We also noticed a towel blocking...
It is central. That's an old hotel so don't expect too much. Parking available means street parking, not private parking, or they tell you to park in a closed parking spot, which you can also find in google.

I don’t often review hotels because the experience is always subjective and more or less useless to other people with different expectations, but Phi Hotel in Bologna was superb. The staff were immediately responsive to emails, welcoming and friendly at the property. The location is perfect - right off piazza maggiore - but calm and quiet. The room was clean, comfortable and fun. The whole hotel is...
We had a fantastic experience at Phi Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is calm, stylish, and thoughtfully maintained, which made it an easy place to relax after exploring the city. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet. The bed was...
This hotel is in a great location and we had a wonderful one-night stay. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.
i stayed two nights and i loved the quality of the bed and pillows. it was amazing and i slept so well. also, the fact that there was an individual thermostat where i could increase the temperature from 21 to 23 degrees. that made such a difference. the front desk was very polite and helpful. the location is very central. my room was compact but that was fine as i chose that size. the water pressure...
Really nice hotel and great staff too. Stayed here for a weekend, arrived late Friday and were greeted by a lady on the front desk and given all the information we could have needed. Our room, a "classic", was nicely designed and very unique. The room itself was spotless, and cleaned perfectly the next morning when we were out for breakfast. Overall, our stay was nice and the rooms were spacious. But make sure to request a heater before you arrive. On our first night, they told us there were no heaters available. Other than that, everything was fine.
We had a great stay and the reception team were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is about a 10 mins walk from the historic square and has a good number of restaurants nearby, which were reasonably price and great food. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the street and was very comfortable, although the chairs were a bit tired and the cleaning could have been better. The breakfast was very...

Giulio and Maria in reception were excellent. Both very helpful, warm and friendly. Went out of their way to answer questions. Hotel and room were quaint, beautiful and historic. There was no direction on how to turn on the heather. Tried to call receptionist, no information to which number to dial. In most of hotel you dialled 0 then you will get the receptionist. A very peculiar place which was a hospital and when you are in you'll understand. But, very comfy, firm beds in quite austere, monastic rooms with religious iconography. Breakfast was great with a selection of meats, cheese and usual continental foods. Great location and cheap to stay.
Clean, nice staff, quiet street yet close to downtown and the university. Many of the staff do not speak English-I write that as information for travelers not as a critique. Laundry facility which has washers, a dryer, and drying rack was nice. Lots of great restaurants not in downtown nearby, too. There is a curfew, but options if you need to get in later than when they close. The only thing I didn...
Good basic rooms. Quiet and clean and comfortable. They provided everything I needed. Staff were friendly and helpful and good at using translation apps. The breakfast had a variety of good food. I ate dinner here one night and it was disappointing.
The rooms were clean and welcoming, with adequate space for both working and sleeping. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful, booking me taxis when I needed them and giving good directions. I loved praying in the little chapel. Breakfast was good. Wi-fi not quite strong enough for good Zoom calls.
Ok for the price. Quite basic but a short walk from the city centre. Good for a short stay if you need a bed for the night. I wouldn’t stay longer though.

Clean and basic, a fair walk to city centre, lots of road works due to new tram lines being done around hotel area

Great place. Clean and comfy.  The location was great and 10 minutes from the metro
I enjoyed my stay at the Astor :) the room had a funny smell, the breakfast was very uninspiring, and one could hear every noise from every corner all the time, but the room also was large and comfortable and the bathroom was good and everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful - it was a relief to stay at a place where it felt a lot like being at home. I definitely would stay again.
The room is large and tidy. Nice staff. A bit far from city centre.

We have a car with us and the receptionist was very helpful to guide us into the car park as the alley into the car park is really narrow. Room was fine, no surprise. What is great about this hotel is the location. It is close to all the site seeing places so super convenient. The breakfast room is really cute (see photos attached).
Single rooms with single bed, but the room doesn't feel too small because of high ceiling and large window. Basic but very clean. Good value. Breakfast is lovely.
Excellent hotel located near the university. Very helpful staff and a wide variety of restaurants nearby.
We were put on the 3rd floor, there are no elevators and staff did not offer to help with our bags. We were coming off a cruise so had 2 large suitcases and 2 carry-ons. I couldn’t help my husband with the large case
It was a nice quiet place to stay. Very close to everything. The staff were great! I definitely recommend staying here. If I ever come back I will stay here again.

Hotel is conveniently located, about 9 mins walk to the train station and about the same time to Piazza Maggiore. The rooms are clean and of good size. I appreciated the small outdoor patio space. I was looking for a little escape so i had to choose a place with spa. It was my first choice and reading the comments i was so hesitant but i gave it a shot and honestly that was the best 150€ i’ve ever spent. The staff was incredibly friendly here. Check in was super easy! It’s a bit far from the city center of bologna and wouldn’t be walkable. To be honest, I don't understand why this place has so many bad reviews. Due to them, we were a bit nervous before coming here but our stay ended up in a very positive manner. I chose this inexpensive hotel because of the price and the proximity to Bologna Centrale. It is not located in the historical center, but in the opposite direction. Maxim is a hotel in a typical area in Bologna, not in the town centre but close to it. You can reach the fair (you can leave the car in the parking lot and get the bus 25 or 25a, that reach to the city centre). The hotel needs a little restoration. Close to it there is one of the best restaurants, naned Al Cambio. The girl at the bar (Giusy), the receptionists Karen and Charles, are helpful and kind...
Have a car? Bus savvy? This is the place for you. The hotel is a ways out from the historic center, but the bus stops right in front of the hotel. Coming back, the bus doesn't return from the same location. The tourist office will tell you where. The staff was very kind and helpful. There is private parking behind the hotel. Would stay there again.
15 mins by bus from Central Bologna is handy, breakfast included was good. Air-conditioning not great. The shower head kept loosening and falling. Bed was pretty comfy. Some lights not working, seems like old wiring/fixtures. Decent budget accomodation.
A good hotel on a budget. Well served with public transport, the bus stops right outside the door. The room is comfortable, but not luxurious, and has the amenities one needs.
