Reviews
Cons:
1. starting from the check in. It takes a lot of time as they have to fill out your details from your passport manually in the system (yes like in the 90’s) instead of scanning the documents or making a copy of each, you have to wait on top of the long journey considering we had our 2 year old with us.
2. Basically no WiFi or extremely poor (I used my mobile data)
3. The rooms are very old, bathroom has mold on tiles, even the camper toilets are way more cleaner and modern than the bathroom we had.
4. The absolutely worst part is: the food ! There is absolutely nothing decent to eat anywhere (except the golf club outside the resort). The “food” options should be forbidden in Italy especially when you call them by their Italian names. This has nothing to do with Italian cuisine.
5. When it rains ? You better pack and go home, everything is closed (except Jeko place) so you can’t get even a coffee. What’s the point of this place then ?!
6. The workers around the resort are very busy, they use petrol powered machines to cut the grass or blow the leaves, between 12 and 13 pm when usually kids are sleeping.
7. The sunbeds at the beach are being charged extra 8€ for half a day ! While at the pool is only 3€ for a full day
I think it’s only good for campers which usually pack everything with them to survive even on an empty field.
To anyone considering this place, pack your own food when you go around the resort or to the beach, or go to the golf club, as the food there is good.
To the resort owners: if I cannot have a decent coffee between 8am and 6pm or a decent meal, why would I ever consider coming back here ? The point of a resort is to have everything in one place. The food is an essential part of a resort, or it should be.
All you need, small and clean accomodations with good equipement. You can choice to cook in the little kitchen, go the Restaurant at the Club area or you use the delivery service. The service personal is very kindly and helpfull. The Beach is enough to make a good sunbathe. The sea at the Beach is very flat. So it is a little bit difficult to swim.
Next bigger town to the club is grado which is a must to visit. Highlights are the water Channels, the ports , the promenade and the old classic Italian houses.
All in all it was a very good holiday and we will come back.
Positive: the offer of activities, at the beach, a lot of entertainment especially for kids
Negative: the showers and toilets are partly broken, not cleaned or over flooded with water. We were also not very delight with the communication of the reception.
Overall I recommend for families that are looking for a price worthy, family friendly experience, rich in activities.
The campsite uses wristbands for all payments on the campsite. Initially, we found this to be a great concept because we could send our children to the supermarket easily and did not have to carry our wallets with us to the beach.
When we prolonged our stay, we were assured that any remaining balance loaded onto our wristbands would be refunded at the end of our stay. However, on the day of our departure (June 18), we discovered that our wristbands had become invalid. Unfortunately, the staff at the reception desk were unable to verify the remaining credit on our wristbands. Despite efforts by one of the employees to contact the manager, the issue could not be resolved within approximately two hours.
As we were not certain about the exact remaining amount on the wristbands, we suggested a provisional refund of 50 euros. However, this was also not possible, as a young staff member had already processed the check-out, and the system no longer allowed any refund transaction. We were ultimately advised to send an email to resolve the matter. This email was more than two weeks ago and we still have not received an answer. Club del sole still owes us money...
In addition, we were disappointed to find that several of the prominently advertised attractions were not available during our stay. Specifically:
-The Primero Splash Bay was not ready or accessible.
- No boats could be rented at Station 15 (Boat Rent), as this service was apparently not offered this season for reasons unknown to us.
-At Station 12 (Bike Park), pedal boats were also unavailable — only kayaks were offered.
In addition, our spot had a lot of small pieces of broken laminate floor and was very uneven. The laminate floor pieces got everywhere in the van and especially our dog's coat and they hurt when you stepped onto them.
positive:
- beach in June was quite empty. Probably because of the sea weed and the muddy shore. Swimming is not possible. We still enjoyed it because it meant that we could let our dog run on the beach (with a long leash of course). In general, the campsite is very dog friendly.
- short distances
- not crowded in June. We really could relax.
- supermarket has great selection
We probably would have left a four star rating. However, it is absolutely unacceptable that the campsite owes us money and does not seem to care.
