We trust Expedia to choose quality partners, so we are surprised that this hotel would be included.
The (European hard) bed caved in the middle and was tilted downward at the headboard. The beds were positioned so the air conditioner with very cold air was blowing directly on us.
There wasn’t a thermostat so we couldn’t adjust the temperature to make it warmer, and it was already on the lowest setting of intensity. We slept with sheets over our heads.
We could not use our balcony as the door did not open.
Quality of linens and towels were consistent for a hotel rates at two stars or less.
Overall, this was a horrible experience despite staff being friendly and a wonderful buffet…although lots of flies were enjoying it too since some food areas did not have covers.
Our superior room has a spacious balcony with a lounger and a table and two chairs – plenty of room to relax or have a drink while looking at the pool and the sea. The room is spotlessly clean and everything feels new and good quality. The modern bathroom has an excellent shower.
We ate breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea with the waves gently breaking below – lovely! Starting with a Bucks Fizz, followed by a good choice of cereal, yogurt, fruit, meats and cheeses. Then rounded off with a nice selection of cakes. The friendly waitress brought cappuccinos to our table.
On arrival at lunchtime, we sat down on the terrace and a waitress just told us to wait 15 minutes before she could serve us – even though it wasn’t busy. Apart from that poor start, all the other staff were really nice.
The hotel is 20 minutes’ walk from the station and even in May, not many restaurants open nearby. A more central location would have been better but the beach made up for it.
