Hotel Fiumara in Genoa

A nightmare. For work I have toured hundreds of hotels throughout Italy including remote villages in the south, never had a worse experience than this. They put me on the street after I complained because they hadn't cleaned the room for 4 days, a bad room, too, so small that you could hardly walk around the bed. Microscopic wardrobe full of blankets, unusable. An efficient staff ... the mistress then ... Of the worst existing breed

Would like to have stayed, but they sold my room 10 minutes before I arrived and left me stranded at 1:30 am (but at least they offered that they could check me in at 8 am???). The lady proceeded to yell at me (in Italian), apparently because I didn't arrive before midnight. Considering I made the booking when my plane landed at 12:30, it would have been pretty difficult to arrive before midnight. Literally went straight there and not only was the receptionist not going to let me in, he didn't even respond to me pressing the buzzer. I called to say I was checking in for my reservation and he just kept saying, "we're full." Eventually he let me in to explain they'd just sold the room I booked to someone else.

If you don't want people arriving after midnight, don't accept reservations after midnight! It's pretty simple. And don't yell at your would-be guests because you oversold.

Property didn't look that nice and pretty sizeable set of stairs to get to reception.
