Hotel H21 in Milan

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the staff — the workers were genuinely friendly, polite, and always trying their best to help. Unfortunately, everything else was a huge disappointment.

The Wi-Fi barely worked during my entire stay, which made even simple tasks frustrating. On top of that, the management policies are extremely unreasonable. I had a friend visit me briefly, and I was told that if anyone stays longer than 10 minutes, they charge €30 — even if the person isn’t sleeping over. It felt like they were trying to find any excuse to take extra money from guests.

The biggest problem is the owner/manager. He behaves arrogantly, is unprofessional, and clearly doesn’t appreciate either his guests or his hardworking staff. His attitude completely ruined the overall experience. The hotel lacks proper organization and the atmosphere he creates is far from welcoming.

It’s such a shame, because the employees deserve better and could make this a nice place if the leadership actually cared. I would not recommend staying here unless the management changes.

Really terrible service and once i was checking out staff was asking me how was it and i told them honestly his respond was "you must tell me" sorry but who the hell are you i told my problem to other staff which they do not speak english at all. Never go there. They do not have slippers imagine 😀

If you are looking for comfort, a good location, soundproof walls, a variety of breakfast options, or a child-friendly hotel, this is not the place for you.

In reality, the room looks nothing like the photos. The hotel is in a quiet area, outside Milano Centrale, requiring two metro rides and a 10-minute walk to reach it. This so-called hotel is extremely small, with only 10 rooms spread over two floors. If you have a lot of luggage, you must carry it yourself to the reception in the basement, as there is no elevator—only stairs. Communication was also difficult because the staff speaks very little English.

The room we received looked old. The bathroom had mold, the beds creaked loudly whenever we moved, and the bedsheets had yellow stains. The wallpaper and paint were peeling. The walls are very thin—you can hear conversations from the hallways and neighboring rooms. The fridge didn’t work, there was no kettle in the room, and not even a welcome bottle of water. The room was very basic, with no extra pillows or blankets in case it got cold at night.

Breakfast was poor, with very limited options: one type of bread, overcooked scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, and croissants—nothing more.

Additionally, you are required to leave your room key at the reception whenever you go outside—something we had never experienced before.

For the price, this so-called hotel is very expensive for what you get. It is not even close to a 3-star hotel and definitely not worth the money.
