Hotel Lombardia in Milan

Hostel-level quality, the room facilities are very old, and the hygiene is poor with stubborn stains on the toilet seat. On the positive side, the disposable cups were individually wrapped, and they provided a shower cap and body lotion. The service was good, but the front desk staff's English wasn't great.

I booked late and was on a budget, so the single room was tiny – just barely enough space.

**Facilities:** Compared to hotels in China, it's definitely modest. The mattress quality was pretty subpar, the shower stall was so small I couldn't even extend my elbows, and there weren't many outlets. The disposable toiletries were also a bit scarce. However, the bidet, which is standard in Europe, was actually quite practical.

**Cleanliness:** The cleanliness was significantly better than hotels of a similar facility level back in China. It was thoroughly cleaned, and the linens were spotless.

**Service:** Competent and efficient. Don't mind the stern-faced front desk staff; it doesn't affect their helpful service and clear explanations. I imagine language barriers might add some stress for them.

**Location:** It's in the old town, about 2-3 blocks from the M1/M2 metro lines, a 7-10 minute walk. There's a small convenience store nearby and a Carrefour supermarket two blocks away, which is genuinely inexpensive by Shanghai standards.

**Breakfast:** The bread selection was a bit limited. They had ham, salad, cheese, and coffee, but no live egg station. Those with a 'Chinese stomach' might find it a bit challenging.

**Overall Impression:** The location is decent, and the deciduous tree-lined streets in the neighborhood are quite picturesque. The interior decor and layout are more traditional European. The facilities can't compare to four- or five-star hotels in China, and there's no gym. Overall, it's sufficient for a business trip or a travel stopover. The price is lower compared to other hotels in the vicinity, so there's really not much to complain about.

The location of this hotel is not so far from metro and there are tree along the way it’s nice.

The room was great! Even though it was a single room and not very big, it offered excellent value for money. It was clean and tidy, and for a four-star hotel, the breakfast was incredibly rich with a wide variety of European dishes.

Room and bathroom are huge. Location is within 15 minutes walk to Metro station. Many nice restaurants around. And Lidl is round the corner. I’d recommend this hotel if you don’t mind a bit of walking.

The room size is acceptable and the breakfast is great as reviewed. There should be a slope for easier movement for the luggage. A comfortable stay.

I booked this for a colleague on a business trip. The location seemed decent, but the bed was tiny, and there weren't any better options nearby. Accommodation in Milan is truly expensive, lol! It was okay overall, just very cramped.
