Essenza Hotel in Olbia

We were here for one night only, because of a flight early morning the next day.

1. Before getting there, the staff were both responsive and very helpful.
2. Even before we got our room, the staff were amazingly accommodating for luggage storage.
3. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom is new and very clean. I very much like the bidet. :)
4. We were leaving early morning the next day - before the breakfast times - and the hotel staff were exceptionally accommodating. I expected just a fruit or a yoghurt, we got freshly-made chocolate croissants and cappuccinos, even as the morning room staff were busy preparing for the first serving. Really exceptional service - I can't thank the morning staff enough.
5. But. That exceptional service was marred by the reception staff *on that specific morning*. We had asked for a taxi for 6:40 am. While at breakfast, we got a call saying that the taxi was there (this is 6:30). We rushed down, only to be told by the night receptionist that the taxi had left. I said but we ordered it for 6:40 - he told me it was 6:20 and it was impossible to get a cab. He was not just unhelpful, but positively dismissive and aggressive *and given that we had a flight* he made the already stressful situation even more stressful. We managed to arrange an uber and got to the airport on time, but it did put a damper on our hotel experience.

I will not give a lower rating because of that last experience - these things happen - but the hotel should know.

We were guests of this hotel from September 17 to 24. My wife and I visited Sardinia for the first time. We chose this hotel due to very good reviews. In fact, all the positive reviews are true, for the kind behavior of the staff, for the very good breakfast, and for the hotel's location close to the center, but quiet. We would especially like to note the very responsive lobby employee Gabriele, who always kindly helped with all questions. We would also like to thank the staff who prepared and served breakfast. It was a pleasure to come to breakfast every morning, because we were always greeted by kind and smiling staff, who, as is customary in Italy, offered us coffee to start. Thank to the L'Essenza hotel team for hospitality. We will definitely come back to Sardinia and without a doubt L'Essenza hotel in Olbia will be our first choice for where to stay. Ilona & Viktors

Great location near the waterfront and Corso Umberto in a quiet side street. Staff were extremely helpful and the rooms clean, quiet and functional although small. The highlight however was an excellent breakfast with staff welcoming and the buffet proving a good choice catering for all tastes. The terrace at the breakfast level has great views over Olbia. Highly recommended. Restaurant 96 is nearby and worth trying (see seperate review)

The hotel is located in the old town, near the main street but quiet. Numerous bus stops are within a kilometer, making it convenient for traveling to the surrounding areas and the airport. It's also close to the port. Despite its 4-star rating, the amenities are quite basic. The room lacks slippers or a kettle, and each person has a pillow, a single sheet, and two thin blankets. There's also a small refrigerator. We were given a room on the second floor, accessible by stairs. The room was clean. The breakfast was good, with a wide selection and excellent service. The rooftop offers a view. If you check out before 10:00, they'll store your luggage.

This hotel was a great stay! Renovated, clean and the staff was very friendly & helpful. Close in walking distance to many shops & restaurants. I would stay here again.

Exceptional hotel throughout, from booking to departure. Staff were brillant, very friendly and accommodating. The housekeepers all acknowledged you, the breakfast team were incredibly happy and enjoyed singing along to the music. Receptionist went above and beyond expectations, arranging holding luggage and personally informing us when the room was ready. Very clean, comfortable and relaxing hotel perfectly placed for walking around Olbia.
