I limit myself to expounding the facts:
Upon arrival after a few calls and a bit of waiting to be greeted by someone, we were shown what should have been our room. On the jamb of the door stood a cockroach of considerable size. Entering the room we are overwhelmed by a strong smell of sewage. Let's point it out and give us a bigger room. In this room the mattress as well as being uncomfortable had a basin on one side. We spend three nights in this room, instead for the fourth and last night, although the problem had been solved in our original room, we are moved to a room with a private but external bathroom.
Here we are at the apotheosis: cigarette burned bedspread, dated furniture, the toilet seat in the bathroom was covered with a soft plastic coating.
Mediocre breakfast.
At the moment of the balance the grand finale: no pos, only cash.
The host has proved receptive in solving some problems, often not very present. In general, with some small precautions they could greatly improve the service.

We had booked a room at 61.98 euros per night, which is quite a high price for Sicily.
We had to have a room with sea view and bathroom.
When we arrived, a windowless room with a bathroom outside the room. You had to cross the hall to get there.
The kitchen was communal and small. There were at least 5 other people who shared this kitchen.
There was another vacant apartment in the yard. This place is indeed not in the Airbnb spirit, there are several accommodations for profit only.
We recognized part of the view from the accommodation we had booked even if a new construction masks part of it.
The owner, reachable only by email, then told us that we had to add 18 euros per night in cash and that she was only free for 3 nights and not 4 nights as we had reserved.
We then called Airbnb, which we had never needed to contact before, but this time it took a very long time and the correspondent never called us back. The owner's father told us after an hour and a half that he would let us have the second accommodation if we gave him 10 euros more in cash. Meanwhile, we waited in the courtyard with 34 degrees with neither a glass of water nor a chair in the shade. Note that the father has his house in the same courtyard....
We were forced to accept because it was 8:30 p.m. and we found ourselves without accommodation.
To top it off, the accommodation of the owner's parents touched ours and they were between 5 and 7 every day, and especially in the evening, shouting with the TV on full blast.
The sea view was distant and partly masked by a house under construction belonging to the owners.
We booked three other accommodations in Sicily during our stay, there were no problems.
