Camping Almoetia

I think the place is pretty decent for the price. However, it has the potential to be great. The tent pitches are great, constantly shaded by trees. However there is no demarcation and no boundaries you just pitch where you want. If you go out in the evening you might find car access to your tent blocked or a new neighbour too close. The area where tents are pitched could be a bit better maintained IMO. When we were there it wasn't very busy so we were mostly fine on these points. The quality of sleep at this campsite was very good. Maybe we had good camping neighbours 😁. The bathrooms... Well they look reasonably clean but in the evening they smelled pretty bad (smelled strongly of urine). The morning smelled of a very strong bleach. Once again, no complaints from my end. I've experienced much worse but maybe more frequent cleaning rounds would solve this. We only overnighted here so no idea what the restaurant is like. Regarding the beach a few hundred meters away, it was filthy when we went. Full of rubbish in the sea so i dont really recommend it. So all in all, a bit more care of the bathrooms and a little bit less anarchy on pitching grounds themselves, as well as some basic "rules" (quiet hours etc) would probably put things in place. For my stay specifically, I am very happy with it for the price i paid.

Very nice and quiet camping. Friendly staff. Clean sanitary. Geograffically perfect for excursions.

Best camp near Messina, Milazzo . Quiet place, 10 minutes of walking to the beach. Toaletes are clean. Hot water for washing dishes. Not overcrowded !!!!!! A lot of trees providing shadow. Just 1 hour to visit Etna.

Scenic location. Peaceful. Possibility of shade. Birdlife and geckos
Good - but a little worn - facilities.
Friendly staff and English speaking owner
Lots of flexibility in check in an check out
Good food in the restaurant
Fine starting point for excursions to Etna and Taromina
Many mosquitoes and other insects, bring repellent or mosquito lamp

Big, green and quiet lovely area. Davide is a helpful and nice owner. Close to a long nice beach and you can easily take a bus or bike to Taormina.
