Stadt Hotel Citta in Bolzano

Came for Christmas diner. The menu online seemed very good with many different pastas from regions around Bolzano including a tasting menu. Upon entering there was no host stand to be found, and we had to wait for a waiter to realize we had made a reservation. The restaurant also smelled quite bad.
The menu we received was not the Christmas dinner menu that was online (which has since been taken down) but the café food menu.
Half the menu was pizza, however when we tried to order the pizza we were informed that none were available.
The food we ordered was not good, easily the worst food we’ve ever had in Italy! The ragu pasta had no sauce (just meat on pasta), the veggie burger was made of a flavor less paste, and roast beef did not seem like what we ordered, but when we asked our waiter he told us that he was not sure what the item was and had to check with the chef.
We were not the only family that had this experience, people around us were asking why they received stale bread (we never even received bread!), why burgers were on the Christmas menu they thought they were getting, and why their dessert was wrapped in ceramwrap.
Not only was the dinner not what was promised or what other reviewers who previously went to this restaurant had, but it was truly terrible.
To do this on Christmas of all days, without any prior notice or even mentioning that the restaurant menu was the same as the cafe’s that night, was really shocking and quite sad.
