Agriturismo Verbena in Castiglione del Lago

We loved our time in Umbria at Agriturismo Verbena. The property had so many wonderful amenities like the pool and free bikes, as well as a laundry machine for guests to use.

Simona was there to help with all of our needs and made us feel so welcomed and relaxed immediately upon arrival after a long travel day.

The apartment was homey and so comfortable, we loved cooking up breakfast and dinner in the kitchen.

And the close location to Castiglione del Lago and Montepulciano made for a few wonderful day trips.

We stayed at Agriturismo Verbena and it was simply perfect!

The location is ideal: surrounded by nature, on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, it allowed us to easily visit beautiful villages and cities like Castiglione del Lago and Passignano sul Trasimeno, as well as the more renowned cities of Siena and Florence.

Perugia, Assisi, and Gubbio are also easily accessible, making the property an ideal starting point for discovering the best of these regions.

The property is immaculately kept, clean, and well-maintained. We loved the pool and hot tub, perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking. There's also plenty of activities for everyone: tennis courts, mountain bikes available, ping pong, and table football, ideal for having fun even on the go.

The rooms are cozy, spacious, and clean, equipped with a TV, a fully equipped kitchen, and air conditioning in the bedrooms. We couldn't have asked for more.

Special thanks go to Simona, always kind and helpful, whose hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. The silence and tranquility of the countryside offer a sense of total relaxation, hard to find elsewhere.

amazing location, everything's of great quality - and Simona is an exceptional host

My wife and I consider it a little paradise. It is a quiet, closed location, a small park actually, with two buildings in where 7 nice appartments are situated. The premises contains a well designed swimming pool with a beautiful jacuzzi and a free-to-use tennis court. There are two free-to-use washing machines. The appartments contains everything you need: flatscreen, dishwasher, coffeemachine and so on. One disadvantage might be that you need the car to get sandwiches or bread to be bought in the very small village. Although there are also free-to-use bicycles to settle this. The village (Piana) is at 3 car-minutes distance and has a small supermarket that sells everything you need.

Topper near atmospheric Castiglione and within driving distance of many nice cities / villages in Umbria and Tuscany. 4 years ago for the first time and now back with our 1 year old son. Well maintained complex and very spacious apartments. Only our double bed was uncomfortable, nothing to complain about

Fine location, great hospitality and best experience.

Actually 5* are too few. Beautiful and quiet agriturismo. Very spacious apartments, super clean. Fully equipped. Beautiful spacious garden where children and also (lovely) dogs can move freely. Located on a hill, which gives beautiful views over farmlands and there is a quick cooling breeze. Very friendly reception. Free use of ATB bicycles. Local Rocco bar for delicious apperol sprits. Also small supermarket for daily bread.

Well maintained apartment complex. Every year something is improved. This year there is air conditioning in the apartments. According to the owner, he is going to redo the bathroom this winter, which is necessary. Swimming pool has become very nice. Unfortunately there is no restaurant and you have to walk more than a kilometer on a gravel path to get there.
