Il Maggese in Cortona

The most amazing place with the kindest host Flavia. It was a truly special experience staying here for a weekend. It is such a beautiful and peaceful villa, felt like paradise. The dinner and breakfast were super delicious, beds very comfortable, rooms full of Tuscan charm. We loved lounging by the pool for the day. Flavia made sure we had absolutely everything that we needed. Taxi transfer possible to arrange; the villa is a short drive from Cortona. They make their own pasta and wine. 10000/10 experience and I can’t wait to return one day. Thank you for creating unforgettable memories for us 🥹🤗❤️

Flavia was an absolute pleasure, we loved her ♥️. Everything was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was outstanding each morning and we had so much fun with our cooking class!

What can we say about our stay at Il Maggese? Everything at this Agriturismo is a product of the love that Flavia and Roberto have poured into their family property. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with not only the necessities but also beautiful antiques and vintage objects which really add to the ambience. Our apartment, Diana, was full of charm . The property is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees, and the abundant produce is all there for you to taste at breakfast and also at dinner if you choose to eat at the property. Flavia and her staff cook everything with heart and soul and most of the food is 0km, fresh from farm to table…you can taste it too! The breakfast tomatoes are the best I have ever eaten and I will be dreaming about them for a long time. There is ample space in the large garden and pool to be able to relax and read without feeling like you are encroaching on the personal space of others-and if you crave peace and quiet then this is the place for you. Flavia was so helpful when we needed to book restaurants both in Cortona and further afield, and she was always available if anything was required. We were sad to leave and hope to return again. When you stay with Flavia at Il Maggese you will be perfectly positioned in the beautiful Cortona countryside…just book it!

Il Maggese is a beautiful country-side location in the heart of Tuscany run by a very nice family! Flavia and her husband are such nice people! The old family mansion has several appartments, decorated in an old Tuscany style. The location has a large park all around and a nice pool to relax at. Breakfast and dinner can be served at the location, if you want. And you should take these options into consideration because everything is cooked wonderfully by Flavia and her husband, with all ingredients from their own garden or from the locals nearby. They produce a great wine and olive oil. The location is close to Cortona by car.

Wonderful house with 6 apartments, I was in Apartment Thalia sharing a terrace with another apartment. Wonderful house, Amazing garden, and swimming pool in a quite green hill completely hidden from the provincial small road. Apartment had everything we need and was a like a little country house only for us and is tastefully decorated and furnished.

Flavia the owner is lovely . she makes her own pasta from an ancient cereal breed that she grows in her garden along with zucchini. We tasted it because she gave us some and we bought some home, and it was amazing.

We’ve had a wonderful stay at Il Magese, a small-scale agriturismo surrounded by nature, with the city Cortona nearby. At Il Magese you can find tranquility, the best home-cooked meals (with delicious home-made wine and olive oil) and great hospitality from Flavia. You can explore Umbria and Tuscany, or relax at the pool. The appartment had everything we needed, including two airconditionings which were very welcome during the summertime and a crib and chair for our baby.
So to summarize: Il Magese is a lovely place and we definitely recommend staying there.

We had a wonderful time at il Maggese. The grounds are beautiful, in a quiet location on the hills surrounded by vineyard and olive groves, the location is very convenient, the rooms are very comfy and the food was great. The service was outstanding. While at il Maggese we did lots of fun activities including tennis, a cooking class, truffle hunting, swimming, sun bathing, a bike tour, hiking, thermal baths, plus lots of wine tasting and visits to Tuscan towns and cities. There is plenty of parking and the rooms are spacious. We'll be back again soon!

First experience in this wonderful place, surrounded by nature, where you can often make unexpected encounters for a "citizen", hares, black squirrels, woodpeckers, and who knows how much else. The location, in addition to having a swimming pool, always kept in perfect order, has very large green spaces.
I cannot fail to mention the hostess, Flavia, always kind and helpful, assisted by the excellent chef Roberto superfine.
Speaking of provisioning, you have the opportunity to eat Km0 products lovingly cultivated by Flavia not to mention oil and Vin Santo .... It's a pity not to be able to give more than 5 stars.
