Hotel Ca Marinella in Venice

Great location within easy walking distance of attractions yet in a quieter area, 8 mins to Rialto bridge for example.
Staff were pleasant, breakfast was plentiful with good hot and cold options, the waitresses were lovely.
The room we had was small but sufficient and clean. Be aware that on Easyjets information on the hotel it states all rooms have kitchenettes and snack/tea making facilities, they don’t!! This was a reason I booked the hotel, the staff did supply me with a kettle and two cups upon asking.
It was a shame they were not using the outdoor seating area for breakfast as advertised or as a place just to sit for a while but it was all closed up. It looked nice too, a shame.
There is a supermarket and a couple of small souvenir shops in the same square.

Hotel Santa Marina, is so cute and located outside the busiest streets of Venice. It was still easy to get around and see all the sights. Breakfast was great and the staff was nice and helpful. They made great recommendations for food! Easy access for water taxis.

This hotel has a very good location within easy reach of S.Marcs main square. It is accessible also from the airport using the water boat and getting off at Ospedale. It's about an 8 minute walk from this water boat stop. The cost is €19 per person each way. The ticket can be bought I. The boat.

The staff are friendly and positive and helpful. The reception staff are good. You need to leave your key at reception each time and remember the tourist tax on departure (must be paid prior to 12 noon).

The room is rather small (room 303) Very compact. There is not sufficient room for more than one suitcase but if you squeeze things around you can just about cope if there for more than 3 nights.

The wardrobe is small and cannot hold too many clothes (limited number of hangers) so they need to stay packed in the suitcase and removed as you go.

The room needs a full length or at least partial length mirror as there is only one. (Although there are plenty outside the room and on the staircases).

The bathroom I found way too small, I was hardly able to turn around in it and when coming out of the shower was instructed by the face basin. The possibility is to remove the small stool.that is in the bathroom and/or remove the bidet but it is awkward to use the toilet and the face basin is small.

I found it a challenge to sleep in layer than 8am for several reasons:
1. The other bedroom doors are so close when other guests open/close the door or speak it disturbs the sleep and wakes you up.
2. The maids when cleaning the other rooms nearby can be heard so again wakes you up
3. The walls are thin so you can here the guests in the other room
4. The street square is immediately outside so you here the trolleys and workers talking to each other of the window is open and even when it is shut the noise came through.

So sleeping in late can be hit and miss depending on the guests in the rooms next door, the cleaning staff, and the activity of the street outside in the morning.

There is well placed small fridge in the room and the room.is very well cleaned each day. The air con is not complicated but I couldn't get it to work as I wanted it, but probably my fault.

The TV has very few English speaking channels - only news channels so don't depend on it for entertainment.

The breakfast is good, very good. The range of.optuons was sufficient and the team are friendly and even humourous. There is a decent selection including prosecco which is a nice thing to offer.

The coffee is great, hot which is super and the fruit pancakes delicious - really good. The service at breakfast is good. To improve maybe some very low level music as a background.

Overall it is good for a weekend. I think I would request a bigger room.and more self contained room.not so close to other rooms.

The staff at reception and breakfast.are great the.cleaning staff do a great job doing the rooms but need to be a little more sensitive to those who are choosing to sleep in.

Overall a.good hotel.

Only slightly negative thing I have to say is that there is no elevator in the building but that also adds to the charm to an extent.

Absolutely BEAUTIF hotel and rooms. We had a wonderful stay, they very close to water taxis, shopping, the Rialto bridge, restaurants and a little local grocer. Staff was incredibly helpful and the breakfast is magnificent. We would definitely stay here again.

Superb
Enjoyed our time in Venice, breakfast was superb, hot and cold dishes to choose from, we had bacon and eggs, fruit salad with yoghurt, even traditional cakes to eat, plus the lovely hot cappuccino, rooms were lovely with a comfortable queen size bed, nice big shower area too, highly recommended.

This was the most beautiful hotel room that I’ve ever stayed in. It made you feel like royalty it was so nice. Highly recommend.
