Al Ponte Antico in Venice

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, very friendly staff, clean and lovely rooms, great views and a great breakfast. Everything you could want!

Last weekend, we stayed overnight at Al Ponte Antico after our trip along Via Claudia Augusta. Matteo greeted us warmly, showed us the beautifully renovated hotel, and made sure we fell in love with it within minutes. I couldn't recommend staying here more highly if you want to truly experience Venice. The place is magical! Especially the terrace with a direct view of the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal, where we could sit all day and night. And don't forget the breakfast with beautiful handmade cakes from Barbara and a delicious omelet from Matteo, which leaves no wish unfulfilled.

My husband and I stayed have just returned after a 2 night stay at Al Ponte Antico Hotel to celebrate my 50th birthday. From the moment we arrived the kindness and warmth of the staff was amazing. Thank you to Mini and all the breakfast staff who looked after us at breakfast and to Matteo for ensuring we had everything we needed and explaining all our breakfast options. The breakfast was delicious from homemade croissants, homemade breads, cakes and not to mention the delicious omelettes. Honestly I cannot say enough. We were lucky to be able to enjoy breakfast on the balcony with incredible views of the Rialto Bridge. Venice brings something special. It is a busy city yet there is great calmness too. This hotel is perfectly located. You are truly in the heart of everything. Rooms are luxurious and everything was spotless. All of the staff are there to ensure you have a wonderful stay and they certainly did that. Thank you to Oliver also on reception. Always there to greet us with a welcome and smile. We will definitely return.

A return to Al Ponte Antico is the highlight of any travel to Europe, and this past trip was no exception. So many superlatives: location, comfort, sumptuous Venetian decor, breakfast and bar, and above all, the longterm, professional, knowledgeable, and attentive staff. It's always great to see Matteo and Barbara, and dear Gigi and of course Oliver ensured a fabulous stay. (It was fun to meet one of the Giuseppe as well!) Recommendations for very local and good dining options were spot on as always. This is truly a destination hotel in a rich cultural landscape.

This is a hidden gem in Venice! Great location, fantastic value, charming environment, personalized service! The staff was very attentive and helpful- they connected me with a fantastic guide, reserved our hotels, and handled all of our water taxi needs. Room was beautiful and spacious- we had the good fortune to stay in the terrace suite and the views were unparalleled! Breakfast was delightful and we would end the day with a nightcap delivered to our room. Location was perfect for exploring the city by water or on foot.

Just completed our second stay in this lovely hotel that treats guests like old friends. Matteo, Barbara, and staff provide personable, thoughtful hospitality. The location on the Grand Canal is exceptional. Breakfasts are abundant and the guest rooms lovely. Staff are always ready to recommend restaurants, tour guides, and itineraries. You will be delighted!

This is our third stay at Al Ponte Antico and our sixth with the Peruch family. That we have returned so many times speaks volumes about the warmth of the welcomes and hospitality that we have had and continue to have on each visit. The location of this little gem is perfect. It's just down a calle off one of the main thoroughfares leading away from Rialto but is perfectly quiet and tranquil. The attention to detail in each room is assiduous and unique. The original fourteenth century ceiling of the main room where breakfast is served is always a wonder to look at but the gloriousness of the hotel is the terrazza overlooking the Grand Canal and the Rialto. The breakfasts remain a highlight of the stay. Barbara's homemade pastries and cakes are delicious and Matteo's freshly-made eggs are perfect. This is an excellent base from which to explore Venice and its islands. Nowhere is too far away by foot and part of the joy of Venice is getting lost but discovering small, quiet piazzas with a cafe for a coffee or a beer whilst doing so. Can't wait to come back.

The owner Mateo takes a great pride and has his guests needs at heart , The staff are all amazing , they booked our restaurants for us a few weeks ahead and gave us a hit list of places to visit,,, views of the bridge are well worth it , great location ,, thank you again.. from Mark/Lucie

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The owner and all the staff were charming, kind and helpful. Great location by the Rialto Bridge. Delicious breakfast served each morning. We had a suite very Venetian in style. Room right on the water. 5here is a lovely terrace for drinks and having breakfast weather permitting.

What an amazing small boutique hotel with the best location in Venice , walking distance to all the main sites. The owner Mateo takes a great pride in what he has created and is a pleasure to meet. The staff are all amazing. If you are looking for a truly memorable vacation in Venice, I would fully recommend this hotel aa you will not be disappointed I look forward to my next visit to Venice and staying here again.
