You couldn’t ask for a better location — right on the Grand Canal, a few steps from Piazza San Marco, where Venice truly feels alive.
The real magic, though, happens at the hotel bar: silver-haired Italian bartenders in crisp white jackets mixing the best Chinàr Spritz on earth. Classic, slightly bitter, perfectly balanced — the kind of drink you’ll remember long after leaving Venice.
The restaurant, on the other hand, feels a bit too formal and overpriced for what it offers — small portions, big prices, and not much soul.
One important tip: if you’re booking through Booking.com, make sure to clearly request a room with a canal view. Otherwise, you might end up staring at a wall instead of that unforgettable Venetian water view.
I've been to this hotel multiple times and had the same experience hence the comment. The concierge however , whenever we spoke, was a great help for advice on places to go, eat etc.
It appears that like all other (lower priced) hotels, the staff here seems to have relationships with specific restaurants and venues of other kinds and getting unbiased advice was a challenge. We had to ultimately rely on google reviews which can be a hit and miss.
HOWEVER, overall, for the price paid, it was definitely a very very nice place to stay and the location (venice high street of sorts) was truly phenomenal!
So in general it’s 3 out of 5. I would find some other place to stay next time.
