Fabulous hotel and location. We arrived by private water taxi from the airport, well worth it. Enter hotel directly from dock. Staff were really friendly, efficient. Room amazing, gigantic ceiling height and curtains with huge chandelier. Bed was just great. There is a lot of pieces in the room so we just move the table/chair to the corner to make more space. Very clean everywhere. Little garden inside the hotel. Breakfast room elegant, lots of choice and good quality. It is a buffet with waiter service which is a novelty. Next to water bus stop which we used a lot to get around. Lots to walk to including Rialto bridge and Effuzi palace (amazing).

Hotel Palazzo Giovanelli is a superb hotel. Our suite facing the Grand Canal was wonderful. The staff was friendly and always went out of their way to make you feel special. Highly recommend this hotel that is looked in a great location away from the crowds of Venice.

Absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was warm and inviting from the moment we stepped through the door until the moment we left. The room was beautiful and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

This is a cool hotel, but be aware. They are going through major renovation. The Canal view room that I paid for believing it would be the grand Canal from the pictures was a small window about the size of a shoebox, looking out the back of the hotel at a small canal. The original room was so small we couldn’t fit our Carry-on luggage in it with us. We asked him to change us to another room and they did so happily it was a huge room with a view of what they call the garden. The room was great except every morning at 8:30. They started construction in the room above us. If you go out in Venice and want to enjoy the city and eat late as most Venetians, do this is not the hotel you want to stay in while they go through this renovation.

On the upside, the staff was fantastic and the place is so clean and brand new for the rooms that are finished. They are spectacular. Amazing marble bathrooms, nice beds and amenities in the room.

Natural light floods the common spaces, giving an open, airy ambiance. It’s obvious that no detail was spared when updating this once-classic palazzo into a sophisticated hotel experience. My room was equally impressive. Spacious yet cozy, it featured a plush king-size bed, soft linens, and a well-designed layout that maximizes convenience without sacrificing aesthetics. The modern bathroom was a delight—complete with a walk-in rain shower, premium toiletries, sleek fixtures, and excellent water pressure. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful amenities like accessible USB outlets by the bedside, strong Wi‑Fi, and generous storage space. Service at Palazzo Giovanelli was consistently warm and professional. The staff welcomed me with genuine smiles and were always ready to provide excellent recommendations—from hidden local eateries to the best vaporetto stops. They took great care of luggage arrangements and helped secure early-shuttle assistance, which made early travel days much smoother. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better. Nestled on the Grand Canal just a few minutes from the Santa Lucia train station, it offers picturesque water views and easy access to Venice’s iconic sights. Yet inside, the hotel is a peaceful oasis—rarely did I hear any canal noise. Breakfast was another highlight: a lovely buffet featuring fresh pastries, local cheeses, cured meats, fruit, and hot espresso—sets you up perfectly for exploring the city. In summary, Hotel Palazzo Giovanelli delivers an incredible stay—melding modern sophistication with historical elegance. If you’re seeking a stylish, comfortable, and beautifully renovated retreat in Venice, this hotel is an outstanding choice. Highly recommended—I can’t wait to return!
