Hotel A LA Commedia in Venice

was a perfect last stay of my mine and my husbands honeymoon. the front desk staff was very knowledgeable about the city and was able to explain the water taxi routes to help easily get around. our bags were helped up by a bellhop and we were shown to our beautiful expansive room. the hotel location itself was in a perfect spot; everything seemed to be an easy 5-10 minute walk away. unfortunately the rooftop bar was closed so we’ll have to come back in the warmer months to enjoy it! would highly recommend this spot to everyone!

We booked a non refundable room, we got stuck in Dubai due to recent events and we were not able to make it. Hotel was amazing and refunded us. Very grateful.

Fantastic hotel! The location is perfect - Central enough to walk or catch the water bus yet somehow quiet enough for when you want to sleep.

The staff is great, particularly at reception. Our room came with a bottle of local sparkling wine included and they also give you a bottle of water each every night.

Also, easy to find great restaurants and bars that charge average prices with proper local food within a maximum 10 min walking distance.

Breakfast could have more variety but it is good quality.

I'd absolutely recommend staying in this hotel and would come back again!

Tip: as of Nov 2015,in Venice you can be charged 4.50, 6-7 or 10-12 EUR for a glass of wine. Similar with main courses,which will range 10-20 EUR or 25-40 EUR in expensive places for the same food. It is very clear that the locals only stop at places charging lower prices so if you found one of these (definitely NOT ones near the main river), you are in the right place! :)

My wife and I spent 4 lovely days in Venice and Hotel A La Commedia made our stay all the more memorable. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable and centrally located. The staff catered to our every need. Nicolas was particularly attentive. We would definitely stay there again.

We were fortunate to be given a room on our arrival am .However this room is designed for disabled persons and very basic layout for wheel chair access. Good to know they have a wheelchair access bathroom/shower and room. Upon request, as to suitability we were changed to a really lovely room. But having to wait until 2pm. Thanks
For an old building and for Venice the rooms were large well equipped and very quiet, Very up to date
Breakfast is limited but a good selection. At an extra cost you can request further dishes from a menu
My comment for future guests, the free tour plus any other tours booked at the hotel is dependent on numbers if less than four it will be cancelled. This happened to us on 3 occasions. You will not be told until just before due, (low season)
To also remember Venice appears to have regular strikes on transport serves the day we arrive trains the day we went to the island (ferry) unable to extend as public ferry services were on strike with very limited services. Normally the service is one way but because of this a return was arranged. The glass factory was very accommodating plus it is interesting and no hard sell, they have 2 areas limited additions and off the shelf, you can barter a little and for cash we received 10% discount in the off-shelf area
Hotel position is really good, both for access to sights plus we were unable to get lost when walking back due to proximity to the water and bridge of sighs
Their airport and ship terminal transfers are very well organized with luggage assistance all the way to and from the hotel, well worth it

It’s old but commodities were okay

Everything was lovely, from the canopy to the amenities. The location was great, within a 5 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square.
