Hotel San Marco Fitness Pool & Spa in Verona

This is our experience: as a group of 15 pax and several rooms for two and three nights booked, we did not have a great stay. It was my sister's birthday and her choice of the property for all of us. First I had requested an upgrade or something some special for her via an email sent several weeks before our reservations. Checking at reception as nothing had organized...unfortunately nothing was done... All rooms had some problems, i.e. aircon, shower, smell..but the most worried one was...one room with heavy mold.

At check out my sister needed to pay her room as the receptionist was insisting the rooms has not been paid. Which was not true as she had paid via booking...so much blalabla...for nothin and no apologies ..

Only the best was Olga and her crew at breakfast and poor Viola who was so kind to us...

Expensive hotel with not a good memory

I have to give 1* to everything.

I (foolishly, because I couldn't get the safe to work), left some cash under my mattress whilst we popped out. The next day, after cleaners had been in, we were checking out, the cash had vanished. I thoroughly checked mutlple times. I told reception, who said there was no way any of their staff would have touched it.

With nothing else I could do we left. Shortly after, I received an email saying the cleaners had been back, and magically discovered it exactly where I said it had been. No problem, we'll mail it, send your address which I did. Follow-up email, oh no we can't send we have to wire it Western Union. OK said I. Oh no, can't do that either, you have to collect it, by which time we were well on our way out of Verona, i.e. they basically confiscated it.

Be very very cautuous at this hotel. All I can do is spread this message on as many review sites as possible.
