One of the best if not the best onsen in Yuzawa. Top class Japan wide. Great outdoor bath.

Enjoying a secret Onsen (hot spring) at the Kaikae Onsen. It a beautiful place to visit and enjoy a hot spring. The ingredients of famous eyewash in Japan is the same as the natural ingredients of this hot spring. This hot spring is believed as a good eyewash for who-knows-how-long.
That’s a amazing fact we should know.

It was a Traditional Onsen with 150+ year history receiving strong recommendation from local and overseas visitors. As soon as you stepped in, you will find that it was a right choice to stay at Kaikake sited at a lovely valley surrounded with snow scenery and peace. Most of the staff can communicate fluently in English and can help you out throughout your stay. This is the kind of Onsen or Winter resort for relax and recharge.

This is a very remote area of Onsen on the border between Niigata and Gunmma prefecture. Driving yourself to go there is recommended, or you need to ask for pickup service of the ryokan. By all means, this is a five star ryokan right in the middle of mountain area and tranquility of onsen makes you super-relaxing.

This is the nicest Traditional Onsen Ryokan in Niigata. The road leading to it is nothing short of spectacular and the outdoor baths also offer a truly unique experience. The water is not very hot which makes it a good option for a hot day as the men's outdoor baths is mostly in the shade. The building itself is a piece of natural heritage and you can see the pictures of many Japanese and Foreign famous artists who stayed there over the years. This hot spring has been around for a very long time and you can feel the history between its walls.
