This is our second time visiting Naeba, and while the hotel is a bit older, it's incredibly convenient for families with kids. They have everything you need: restaurants, a convenience store, and shops selling ski gear. The ski resort is right at the hotel's doorstep, which is super handy, and if you're lucky, you might even catch some powder snow. It's also easy to get to the nearby Kagura ski resort

A big old hotel with everything you need. A proper ski in and out facilities. A lot of food choices with reasonable prices. Eventhough the hotel is old, everything is clean and well maintained. Free shuttle from Echigo Yuzawa Station is a plus too.

If you want true ski in ski out , then I would recommend this hotel. The lifts are just just 50 meters outside the hotel buildings and they lockers for each room to keep your gears, which is very convenient. As for breakfast the spread is acceptable for the price charged. The rooms are rather small and I found some dusts on the furnitures. It would be better if the reception staff can speak better...

The hotel's age is unavoidable. There are too few elevators. Ski boots are prohibited, but there are hardly any chairs near the entrance where you would change. This is a truly beautiful ski resort, perfect for families. It offers all-inclusive accommodations and activities, saving you the hassle of traveling back and forth. It's a must-visit every year. The room type I booked was perfect, and the hot springs were so relaxing. The service was also excellent.

Very satisfied with our stay at Angel Grandia Hotel. The ski-in, ski-out access made skiing extremely convenient, and moving from the ski area into the hotel never felt cold. The room was warm and comfortable at night. The staff and shuttle bus attendants were friendly and helpful, and having a FamilyMart inside the hotel was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

The room is outdated style of Japanese room design. When we reach the Echigo Yuzawa station there are no more JR train at 21.45 at nite, we have to take a taxi to the hotel. The transportation is a big issue as the hotel shuttle last bus is at 4.30pm. Good point is children can play snow just doorstep outside hotel. Stayed there for two nites which is enough to explore. Not much tourist was found there...

Coming out of the west exit of Echigo-Yuzawa Shinkansen Station, there's a free shuttle service that runs every 10 minutes or so in the morning, and every 20-30 minutes in the afternoon. We went to Naspa new Otani hotel for purpose of skiing. I wanted a complete ski resort close to town. The rooms were big with a bath. The hotel also has a great onsen. We arranged our ski gear rental at the hotel ski shop and had a private ski lesson. The ski instructor Simon was great and effective at turning me from first time to confident beginner. One of the nicest hotels we stayed in Japan. We had stayed in a traditional japanese room with Futon beds with an amazing view, compared to some hotels stayed in Tokyo, staff here were so kind, patient and helpful. The hotel is very close to the ski resort, right outside the door. I booked a Japanese-style room, but you have to make your own bed. Maybe the staff could help, but they didn't say anything! No bottled water, you have to buy your own.

The room was beautiful and had a lovely Japanese aesthetic. All the staff were very friendly. As a skier, I really appreciated that the ski shop on the slope offered ski and boot storage, as well as waxing services for a fee. The shuttle bus to the ski resort right down the hill was super convenient.

The hotel is visible right after exiting the west gate of Echigo-Yuzawa Station. You have to walk up a short slope to reach it. The hotel's hot spring was incredibly comfortable, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious! They even offered free amazake and coffee in the afternoon.

We are not allowed to wear our own shoes once we enter the lobby. If we are expected to walk bare feet, maybe the hotel should consider providing guest with indoor slippers. It is very uncomfortable walking to the restaurants barefeet as no matter how clean they keep the floors, there’s bound to be food spills and oily surfaces. The location of hotel is close to JR station and some ski equipment rental shop. Hotel staff are friendly but some are not able to communicate in English fluently. We reserved a room included dinner and breakfast with various choice. They also provided free saki during dinner session. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and will be back in future.

Great location, just five minute walk from JR Statuon.

The open-air hot spring was enormous, natural, and stunning. The rooms were spacious, the breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and the view of the ski slopes from the window made for a perfect dining experience. A fantastic stay!

Overall, I am satisfied with the quiet, clean and tidy environment. I just think that the shuttle bus service only starts at 9:00 and ends at 6:00, which is a bit too late to start and too early to end. Beautiful view outside the window

The tatami is very comfortable and I like it very much. The outdoor hot spring is great. Snowflakes are floating in the sky, and I can enjoy the snow-capped mountains and tree hangings while soaking in the hot spring! The staff are especially friendly and enthusiastic. It's a steep climb from Echigo-Yuzawa Station. If you arrive before 6pm, you can contact the hotel's shuttle bus service. The cable car station is right next to the hotel, making it very convenient to go to Yuzawa Plateau. The room is large, very suitable for a family vacation.

We traveled from Australia and it was the best ryokan in 2weeks travel in Japan. The room had a great view of yuzawa and mountains. The movie - yukiguni - was great but it could have been better with English caption. Luckily we knew the story so guess the movie.

This is a historic hotel with a beautiful environment. It's truly enjoyable to sit in the room and admire the view outside the window. The hotel staff are very warm and friendly. Although it's a bit far from the station, the shuttle service is excellent. The only drawback is that it is quite far from Echigo JR Station and it is hard to find a taxi back to the hotel after night skiing. However, the hotel has a shuttle bus that can pick you up during the day.

This small ryokan is a pleasant surprise. It is just 15 min drive from Yuzawa station. We had a choice of pillows, private dining, 60 inch smart tv, pleasant onsen. The only complaint is the room that is small and the attic sloping ceiling that risks knocking our heads against.

A wonderful dinner experience with gorgeous fusion of Japanese mixed Western with fresh and in-season ingredients. Stayed in double room and the Sakura room with a group of friends. The Sakura room is huge (kitchen, living, tatami and western bedrooms, bathroom, private onsen) and highly recommended if you have a large party. There's a ski locker room downstairs for guests. The location is good. You can ski right away when you get out of the hotel. However, the room is…somewhat okay. Our room was a Japanese style room with bathtub and toilet in one room. Friendly people, basic coffee and good you can get near the ski area.

The lift is right in front of the hotel, making it a great location for visitors to Iwahara Ski Resort. This time, I only used the restroom, not stayed overnight... But the staff were still very helpful. There are old-fashioned table games, giving it a very Showa-era feel, but it is well-maintained. The restroom I used was also clean.

One of the loveliest ryokans we've ever stayed at in Japan, wish we stayed for longer. Every part of the hotel is so beautiful and serves as a lovely photo backdrop. Best hotel in Yuzawa. Worth the stay and super clean.

The staffs are very friendly and helpful. If you come here for ski, the hotel has equipment rental and free shuttle bus to nearby resorts. There’s also laundry machine and free drinks. By the way, the dinner is very delicious.

Friendly and responsive Mr Kinta. All are good, less commercial than the main hotel at resort, feel like home and cosy. Have laundry and cooking pantry, good fit for family stay. The minor thing is that the wall in room can consider a bit scratchy. Overall love the stay and will return if coming back to Naeba.

The B&B is very close to Naeba, within a ten-minute walk. If you want to take the bus from Prince Hotel, you can ask the owner to send you there. We booked a Japanese-style + private bathroom, which was well maintained, but there were no curtains on the windows, so it was very bright in the morning, and it would be noisy if other guests passed by. The B&B's large bath + hot spring pool is in the building...

Acceptable For the amount we paid for the room, the amenities are not really up to the standard in Japan.

The hot bath is very hot, no one can stay in for more than 5 mins. During snowy night, the snow truck to clear the road will keep you awake all night. The old Mr Kinta tries all his way to charge you a few hundred Yen here and there while the young Mr Kinta is more honest and did not over charge us. Kinta and his family are very great hosts. The breakfast every morning was a delight. Evening dinner meals were even better. A very warm and cozy hotel. A great little bar area. Very good rental gear. All in all an absolutely top hotel experience. 10 out of 10! We would highly recommend staying at Kinta Naeba.
