Where to stay in Yufu

Enjoyed the onsen and room is spacious. Woke up to a grand view of Mount Yufu, which was a big bonus.

We had a great two-night stay at Lamp No Yado onsen hotel. The onsen was spacious and relaxing, and the meals included in the hotel were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. On the 2nd day, our room's TV was not working and the staff promptly replaced it when we were out, which truly appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly rich and satisfying. The Kagoshima beef practically melted in my mouth – so fragrant and delicious! The onsen (hot springs) are private, family-style rooms, and the reception area has heating and complimentary drinks, perfect for a relaxing break after a soak.

This was a wonderful stay. After a short tour of Yufuin, the shuttle service I'd requested arrived in front of Yufuin Station. The kindness of the owner of hotel was not good.

The owner is very nice. It is rare to have public baths and free private baths. The only downside is that the allergy level in the room doubles during the pollen season. I don't know why.

I am satisfied with the overall experience. The hot springs were good and the location was good. The owner was kind. However, you can't stay in the lobby on the first floor after the check-out time. My father, who is not feeling well, was kicked out on a rainy day with three suitcases.

Friendly staffs and lovely hotel. We stayed in a room with private onsen which we absolutely loved it. We can even see the snow in the morning making us feel like living in a fairy tale land. Highly recommend!

The main reason we chose Satoyama Chafu was the opportunity to soak in the hot spring while admiring the view of Mount Yufu. The hotel staff provided excellent service, and the food quality was also quite good.

I was overall satisfied with the ryokan's facilities, hospitality, and food. If you have children, it's a bit of a walk from the center of Yufuin, so it might be a good idea to keep that in mind.

Clean and hygienic, excellent service, and delicious food. However, if you have luggage and a stroller, you'll need to take a taxi as it's not walkable to Yufuin Station.

It is a 15-minute walk from the station and the lack of shuttle service is a disadvantage. However, the facilities are good and the water, which is the original function of the hot spring, is good. I would visit again.

The best choice for self-driving tours in Yufuin, private hot springs are comfortable and the price is reasonable

Wonderful view over the valley, this spacious room offers a private onsen. Completely with tatami mats and comfortable beds it’s a very relaxing stopover fur the pretty town of Yulfuin. It’s not the easiest of places to find, tucked away at the end of a small windy road outside of town. There are no eateries nearby, so as the restaurant was closed, we had to stock up on food from the supermarket....

I booked the half-board stay at Tsubaki using ******* and the staff at Tsubaki was in contact with me almost immediately to confirm the details and finalize the pick up time from Yufuin Station. Food was disappointing for this price point. The onsen area relies on steam to block prying eyes. But this also means there is no outside view for us. The other property we stayed at offered better value, despite having a higher price.

The hostel is beautiful. It’s up on the hill, so you have to walk around 30/35 minutes from the train station. There isn’t any convenience store nor restaurant nearby so make sure to bring your own food or ask the owner to make dinner/breakfast for you. There’s an onsen on-site and the showers is also in the onsen, there’s not a private shower. I recommend it, very peaceful

The hostel is a bit difficult to access by foot if you are coming by public transport. The host brought us out for walks after dinner, with stunning night views of the city. Order breakfast and dinner as their food was delicious. The common space/lounge is perfect to chill, make new friends and read.
