Kinugawa Plaza Hotel, Nikko1 / 30
7.3
Nikko, 530 Kinugawa Onsen Taki 🧭 Map
The room was very clean and we had a great view of the Kinugawa River! The hotel also had a calming atmosphere, so I'm glad I stayed at this hotel! I'd love to stay here again!
The hotel is in a good location and the hot spring is also very large. However, the parking lot is a bit inconvenient because it is far away and you have to walk more than a kilometer and take the hotel bus! I will come again next time.
great interior, nice view. onsen a old but good cosmetics
The hotel facilities are complete, the hot spring environment is beautiful, and there is also a swimming pool for me to experience, which is enough for me to have a good swim. I feel comfortable physically and mentally after experiencing these two projects! Personally speaking, the dinner service mode suits me very well, the design is very unique, and I come back with a full meal!

This hotel offers incredible value for money, and the hot springs weren't crowded at all, which was a huge plus. The dinner was absolutely fantastic, a real highlight! 👍 After dinner, there was even an acrobatic show in the lobby.
Not very accessible as we need to connect 2 trains from Tobu-Nikko to the Kinagawaonsen station. In addition have to take a taxi to the Onsen Hotel. Walking takes about 20 minutes which is not advisable in the winter season.
The room was spacious, the food was delicious and it was a wonderful day.
It was immaculately clean. The service was also very polite and attentive, which I truly appreciated. We had both dinner and breakfast, and the food was delicious, making for a perfectly satisfying trip.
The facilities are slightly dated, but that vintage charm is precisely what makes for such a unique experience.
The hotel is great! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with many facilities like karaoke, a game center, and more. I visited with my family, a total of 14 people, and they were able to arrange a private room for us for both dinner and breakfast. Both meals were buffet-style and absolutely delicious. The onsen experience was wonderful, and the view from the onsen was fantastic, with...

Nikko, 2519 Yumoto, 321-1662 Nikko, Prefektura Totigi, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
It was one of my best hot spring resort experiences in Japan. Everything was perfect. Its hot spring quality was the best. I have enjoyed outdoor hot spring during a snowy early morning, which I couldn’t forget. It was so fascinating experience. Food was great and surroundings were also very beautiful. I would come back here again next summer or fall.
Website stated Dinner and breakfast will be provided But actually the hotel gave you Coupons to buy dinner box in their shop ! They should tell us the arrangement when we booked the hotel so that we could prepare our dinner before Check In ! Also , the hotel even Not provide Ciffre in the morning
A great stay near Nikko. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the hot spring was very relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The surrounding nature was beautiful and peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant experience and good value for money.
Decent and reasonably priced. They offered microwavable bento boxes since the restaurant was closed for the winter.
The hotel is quite new, and the room is very spacious. We enjoyed soaking in the hot springs at night and strolling along the Onsen street during the day. It's very close to the Yumoto Onsen Ski Resort, which was great as it was mostly locals skiing there. The only downside is that it's a bit far to get to; you have to take the bus and get off at stop number 45.
The place is next to the bus stop at No.45. In winter, there is no food service. You have to eat frozen food. Onsen is good.

Nikko, 1300 Kamihatsuishi-machi 🧭 Map
A memorable hotel, full of old-world charm, with courteous staff. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. It's a landmark in Nikko, historically the first and most high-standard hotel. The only downside was the set dinner; while presented well, the ingredients and culinary skill weren't up to par, and the main course fish wasn't fresh.
This was a truly lovely hotel with a wonderful atmosphere. Every corner was picturesque. I highly recommend joining the guided tour of the building. The entire hotel is well-heated, so light clothing is perfectly fine. The food was delicious too. My only minor disappointment was the lack of a hot spring or a large public bath.
The hotel is very pretty from outside kindergartenjd the garden is spectacular. My room has been refurnished so it is it isv bea beautiful. Food is good too. Just that the place and my bath tub is quite ancient. Overall , a memorable stay
Beautiful old hotel. The dinner was fabulous- so elegant and wonderfully delicious. The grounds are picturesque Best thing is the location. It is up a steep hill so walking up and down is a challenge for older knees. That being said once down the hill, it is a short walk to the famous Shinkyo Bridge and across the street from the bridge is the Toshogu Shrine complex.
Not only did we receive excellent service during our stay, but their flexibility in accommodating our individual requests truly set them apart from other hotels – it was a world of difference. Highly recommend.
The hotel is perched on a small rise, directly opposite Shinkyo Bridge and the entrance to Toshogu Shrine. The service was excellent. While the hotel has an older feel, it's generally very quiet.

Good service, Nice view. Clean room. Good facility
A bit aged interior decoration... meals are disappointed... over price..
The service is excellent, all the staff are so nice, and the food is also delicious.
really amazing service especially the onsen the adult food. rooms are a little outdated. It did catch us off guard as it was about 1000 USD for two nights for the 3 kids and their meals were like pasta and fries. I am not sure we would have spend this money staying with kids. Better suited for adults or if money really isn't an issue spending already so much at the hotel.
Nice accommodation, good service, but average food
The breakfast and dinner place is comfortable and rich, the room is large and comfortable. I originally booked a Japanese-style room, but my friend couldn't sleep on the floor and asked to change to a bed room. The staff immediately helped to deal with it. The staff service was very good.

The staff were all wonderful and I had a very comfortable stay. There were no sightseeing spots nearby and I was worried about how to kill time until my train, but they let me wait on a sofa in the hotel lounge, and since it was raining, they drove me to the station in their luxury car.
Great hotel and great staff. Very well maintained facilities and well curated breakfast and dinner. Great pickup and drop off service from and to the train station. Everyone at the hotel is very friendly and polite. Enjoyed our stay very much. We would visit again.
A Very comfortable stay with great staff
Fabulous service and food. Very comfortable, within easy reach to Nikko by car.
Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel is an incredible property with unparalleled Japanese hospitality. The stunning surroundings are matched by the dedication of the staff, especially Moeka, who was exceptionally personable and professional. Her service made my stay unforgettable. Highly recommend this gem to anyone visiting the area!
This amazing hotel is located in the heart of Kinugawa with views over the gorge and is a 15 minute drive to Nikko. On arrival there are staff to take your car and bags and to check you in which is a seamless experience. There is coffee and tea available on arrival while you wait. This occurs in a pleasant lounge overlooking the forested valley. Across from the lounge is a well appointed shop. We...

Great value onsen-ryokan in KinugawaOnsen. The best thing from this ryokan would definitely be the amount of public baths they have. There were 2 outdoor bathes available for each division, and in order for you to try all of them, you’ll have to visit both at night and morning the day after, as the bath location changes for men and women. Room was spacious with a good view of the area. Food was also...
Very nice hotel and super friendly staff, highly recommended
It was clean. The hot spring was spacious. The food was delicious and there was a wide variety of options.
Our family is very satisfied with this itinerary. We like this hotel very much. There is a music performance in the evening. The staff is very polite and the waiter can communicate with us in Cantonese. It is a very personal service.
The hotel staff is very friendly and the facilities are very complete. The Tateiwa Suspension Bridge and the observatory are definitely worth a visit.
Booked 3 nights, no breakfast or dinner so I can't comment on that. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. The exterior of the building seemed a little dated, it was about a 5-10 minute walk from the station and a little out the way up a small hill, no problem if you've rented a car but if you have a large suitcase and are walking it can be tiresome. The Private onsens were lovely, if you want...

This was my first all-inclusive experience, and after checking in at the front desk, I left my luggage in my room and went up to the first floor to enjoy sparkling wine, beer, and snacks. The hot springs* would have been even better if they'd brought some salt. The room felt a little old, but it was clean and well-maintained. The bath was just the right temperature, and although there was a sauna...
The location is great. We checked in around 2:30pm and were able to check in a little while later, but the lounge was so comfortable that we were able to spend a relaxing and luxurious time sipping beer and poached eggs while looking at the view. The food was served in small bowls, so it was easy to eat. I didn't like the fact that my room was on the parking lot side, but when I opened the window,...
The hotel staffs are friendly and nice. Free alcohol drink from check-in til 10.30pm! The hotel is in the remote area. It might take some time to get there. Overall is great! will visit again!
Considering the price, I felt the quality of the food was not up to par. The breakfast was well thought out and the ingredients were tasty, but dinner was lackluster. The Yonaki noodles at night were tasty, but I thought they were served as cheap Chinese noodles. I visited after the renovation and was curious, but I feel there is still room for improvement.
Truly a hidden gem. The staff were kind. I wish the dinner was a little more luxurious. The drinks are all-you-can-drink and the best.
We stay here for two night. Really enjoy and want to come back. - free bar from 7pm - 10:30 pm - breakfast is very short hour in the morning - have table tennis and dart

I went to Yumoto for hiking and found this wonderful place. The staffs are very helpful. Although, they cannot fully communicate in English. They are trying their best to make sure my stay is the best experience I have. Room is clean and has no AC.  Breakfast and dinner are traditional Japanese course and I love them.  About Onsen, it might not be in the best condition but it is good enough.  If I...
The food was absolutely delicious, and you could tell that a lot of care went into preparing every dish. The staff were friendly and courteous. The hot spring water quality was superb, although the hot spring facilities themselves felt a bit dated. Our room was also very clean and tidy, and the surroundings were tranquil and peaceful.
Although the hotel room was very dated and worn, we were pleased with the food and services. For the cost we paid, I think it deserves a four out of five star. We booked this hotel for overnight stay as we hiked from Ryuzu Cascades to Oku Nikko. The hotel ground is clean and staff spoke well English. The onsen water was amazing, milky blue colour with indoor and outdoor pools. However I felt crowded...
Had a wonderful time here in October. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. Several spoke quite good English. Overall service was 5/5. The facilities were clean but a little old and worn down. Onsen was quite enjoyable. Would give it 3/5. Dinner and breakfast were incredible, the food was definitely a 5/5.
Flawless overnight, not for the first time, at Yumoto Itaya. Warm service, fantastic half board and a comfortable room, all surrounded by snow covered mountains. Can't wait until next time.
Environment: The hotel is located on a mountain at an altitude of 2,000 meters. It is still quite cool in August.

We enjoyed our stay at Nanaeyae during autumn. The staff were wonderful throughout and served us delicious meals. We also particularly enjoyed the onsen bath which was well-maintained and invigorating.
Nanaeyae went above and beyond my expectations, from the food, to the room and especially the hospitality from everyone we met there. I highly recommend ordering their in-house sake with the kaiseki dinner - it was absolutely delicious. Very thankful for the amazing stay.
Not so worth the price..view from room was good, location was good, but food not worth for what i paid for, dinner and breakfast served a bit normal, taste normal, when breakfast time i ask for a pack of seaweed(only 2 packs on table), the staff was very loud and replied me 'No No No'! Like I'm requesting addditional main dishes from them, I''m a bit shock this is just a small thing and didn't worth...
Overall good. Quite a number of non-Japanese receptionists and servers.
We had a lovely stay, experiencing aspects of Japanese culture - such as the food, Japanese room and the beautiful onsen. It was further away from the Nikko World Heritage Site than we realised when booking. However, we rather enjoyed the picturesque train ride there each day. The staff were very courteous and we were given gifts on our departure.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I will stay here again if I visit Nikko
Location is abit off the main road and you need a car if you want to go sightseeing around Nikko area. Hotel staff was polite and the service was immaculate. The rooms were clean and amenities was of high quality. Food was delicious and the public bath was clean and good. Highly recommended for couples or for people who want to chill and do nothing.
10/10 satisfaction, because my wife was very satisfied. The hotel isn't large, but the design is thoughtful and meticulous. I especially appreciated the private bath (¥2000/hour) and the inner garden view. The two meals included with the stay were excellent; the sashimi was served in an ice basin, a thoughtful touch.
Service is perfect and took care of everything well. Location wise not so convenient and better for self driving, otherwise cannot go anywhere nearby. One point should improve is the check out time is 10:30AM, which is way earlier than most hotel and may cause some inconvenience for some travelers.
This small, beautiful hotel is tastefully decorated with Japanese art and objects. We chose Western-style beds.  The room was spacious and airy. Sandals are provided for walking in the hallways; no shoes or sandals on the room’s traditional mats.  Breakfast and dinner are high cuisine, artfully presented in private dining rooms. The set dinner menu is 7 courses and way too much food, even with small...
Excellent staff, location and facilities. We enjoyed the food and the private hot tub on our balcony. All of the staff were very friendly, and went above and beyond with any request. Just avoid getting a massage. The masseuse was horrible. She had my wife keep her robe on and then covered her with towels before roughly rubbing her. She ended up with rug burns on her feet and a kinked neck. If...

Nice hotel in good location of Chuzenji lake. Peaceful quiet and relaxing with onsen 👍🏻
I’m so happy to have stayed at Hotel Hana An Chuzen-ji Lake Nikko! The view from my room was absolutely stunning. Highly recommended!
We want to thank Hotel Hanaan for such a beautiful stay. The location is perfect and has stunning views of the lake. The inn is located right in front of Lake Chuzenji, and although it is compact, it was quiet and comfortable. The food was delicious, but I was also impressed by the colorful tableware that was used to serve it.
