Where to stay in Nikko

We used this hotel for a family trip. We had a wonderful time, from the meals to the rooms. Our whole family was very satisfied. Thank you. Regarding the location, I rated it this way because our room was on the mountain side.

The all-inclusive package was the best! 👍 I used it multiple times whenever I wanted. There were so many food options, I was spoiled for choice, haha. The sashimi was also fresh and delicious.

Although the rooms are a bit dated, they are spacious and very clean, perfect for families or friends. The breakfast and dinner buffets are both plentiful and delicious, with a wide variety of options to satisfy all age groups.

It would have been nice to have a Zaisu (legless chair) in the room. The food had a great variety and was delicious. The free lounge also offered a good selection, which was a plus. Even though the hotel was old, it was clean.

We were very happy with everything the hotel provided. If there is shuttle bus between the hotel and kinugawaonsen station, it would be perfect for foreign tourists who travel by train and bus.Buffet dinner is wonderful.

It's an old hotel but the room was quite big by Japanese standard, also clean and comfortable. The buffet dinner and breakfast had a good variety of food. But the outdoor bath was disappointing. Another minus point is availability of WiFi in the lobby only and not in the rooms.

It's a 10-minute walk from Kinugawa Onsen Station, and you can book the hotel's shuttle bus for your return trip to the station the next day after check-out. The room was quite spacious and comfortable, and the hotel isn't far from the iconic Big Staircase. The dinner buffet was plentiful, making this a great value-for-money option in the area.

I think this hotel is absolutely fantastic! It's very cozy and comfortable to stay in. The food is buffet style with a wide variety of choices, and they keep refilling everything constantly, so you don't have to worry about missing out. The hot spring is also huge! I will definitely come back to stay and enjoy it again next time.

This guesthouse is much cheaper than the hotels next door. While it doesn't offer breakfast, the hot spring water is the same for all guests. We stayed in a Japanese-style room with a slightly elevated tatami bed.

Great customer service with very modern and clean amenities, price is decent but it is a bit far from the central of Nikko. There are free tea, coffee and instant miso soup available at the communal area/ lobby. The room is very clean, well designed with a nice garden view. Slightly out of the way but hotel was comfortable. Would be better if there were more shuttle bus timings though. Staff were nice especially kikuchi! He went above and beyond to ensure that we made it in time so we could purchase what we needed

It was amazing! They really had everything. The dining room was huge and they gave us 90 minutes. There was a huge variety of delicious food and drinks, including alcohol. There were also several onsen baths, both indoor and outdoor. It was definitely worth a visit for relaxation. It was mostly Japanese families; there weren't many foreign tourists, which was nice and peaceful.

Since I was traveling with elderly people, it was difficult to get to meals and the large public bath. The location of the room was disappointing as it overlooked the station and not the river. Although the hotel is a bit old, the facilities are perfect and the buffet is delicious. The best part is the open-air hot spring on the top floor; soaking in it while it's snowing is an unforgettable experience. There are also two other indoor hot springs, which are perfect.

Chain hotel. We've stayed at Itoen hotels several times now. They're all onsen hotels, and the prices are very reasonable. There are fewer foreign tourists and more locals. The buffet quality is on par with the price, and I personally think it's quite good.

Honestly, given the low price that provides 2 meals and onsen experiences, I think it is quite good for value, but of course the building is very old and rather broken (although it is still usable). But then, it will take an hour to go to Nikko and the surrounding area isn't interesting to visit, just to stay in this hotel is not a very good option especially if you want to go hiking in Nikko.

The hotel is in a good location and the hot spring is also very large. However, the parking lot is a bit inconvenient because it is far away and you have to walk more than a kilometer and take the hotel bus! I will come again next time.

The room was better than I expected. I heard it's a historic hotel, so it must have been renovated; it looked quite new. I stayed on the first floor, and the open-air bath was so beautiful—you could step right outside!

We used this as a simplified version of our honeymoon. We were able to relax in a calm atmosphere. We thought it was a little pricey since we were staying over a long weekend, but we were very satisfied with the quality of the hot spring water.

really amazing service especially the onsen the adult food. rooms are a little outdated. It did catch us off guard as it was about 1000 USD for two nights for the 3 kids and their meals were like pasta and fries. I am not sure we would have spend this money staying with kids. Better suited for adults or if money really isn't an issue spending already so much at the hotel.

The breakfast and dinner place is comfortable and rich, the room is large and comfortable. I originally booked a Japanese-style room, but my friend couldn't sleep on the floor and asked to change to a bed room. The staff immediately helped to deal with it. The staff service was very good.

Beautiful old hotel. The dinner was fabulous- so elegant and wonderfully delicious. The grounds are picturesque Best thing is the location. It is up a steep hill so walking up and down is a challenge for older knees. That being said once down the hill, it is a short walk to the famous Shinkyo Bridge and across the street from the bridge is the Toshogu Shrine complex.
