Nikko, 359-2, Kinugawaonsentaki 🧭 Map
The room was nice and clean. The futons are very comfy. Buffet dinner is a must!!!
The all-inclusive package was the best! 👍 I used it multiple times whenever I wanted. There were so many food options, I was spoiled for choice, haha. The sashimi was also fresh and delicious.
🌿 A Perfect Escape into Nature! 🌿 This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The view is simply breathtaking — one of the best I’ve ever experienced! From the moment I arrived, I felt my mind and body completely relax
I have a great time here even as a foreigner
We were very happy with everything the hotel provided. If there is shuttle bus between the hotel and kinugawaonsen station, it would be perfect for foreign tourists who travel by train and bus.Buffet dinner is wonderful.
We used this hotel for a family trip. We had a wonderful time, from the meals to the rooms. Our whole family was very satisfied. Regarding the location, I rated it this way because our room was on the mountain side

Nikko, 1-1 Fujiwara, Nikko-shi 🧭 Map
This guesthouse is much cheaper than the hotels next door. While it doesn't offer breakfast, the hot spring water is the same for all guests. We stayed in a Japanese-style room with a slightly elevated tatami bed.
Location is about 12 mins walk from train station, quite a long walk. Hotel provides shuttle service at 300yen, which requires advance reservation. Dinner and breakfast are buffet style with a good spread
I booked a traditional style room and it has a nice view of the river. I enjoyed the hotel and onsen, very relaxing
The open-air bath only had two showers, which was inconvenient when it was crowded. For breakfast, there's a DIY rice bowl station where you can add your favorite toppings
The room was quite spacious and comfortable, and the hotel isn't far from the iconic Big Staircase. The dinner buffet was plentiful, making this a great value-for-money option in the area
It's a 10-minute walk from Kinugawa Onsen Station, and you can book the hotel's shuttle bus for your return trip to the station the next day after check-out

It only takes 5 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. The hotel is large and has many facilities for children. The dinner buffet is average compared to the breakfast buffet. But overall they are very satisfied.
It was amazing! They really had everything. The dining room was huge and they gave us 90 minutes. There was a huge variety of delicious food and drinks, including alcohol
I stayed from January 3rd to 5th. All the staff were kind and polite, and I was able to enjoy a unique experience unlike any other. There were various amenities, and it was very helpful to have a pet-friendly hotel
There were also several onsen baths, both indoor and outdoor. It was definitely worth a visit for relaxation. It was mostly Japanese families; there weren't many foreign tourists, which was nice and peaceful
One of the very big hotels and has a wonderful onsen. Next to this building is a facility of river boat service which gives an amazing view into the gorge. Must visit during the autumn season.
The shoji screens separating the rooms were covered in dust. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly

The service was warm and attentive, and the hotel facilities were well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. If you're not driving, be sure to book the shuttle bus. The buffet dinner was definitely a highlight
Awesome rooftop onsen, we were lucky enough to come in time for the sunset, could also see some stars in the sky at night. Private room dining available, as well as buffet dinner and breakfast
This hotel is a century old but incredibly well-maintained! The hot springs are super relaxing and really destress you
Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and easy to access to the Onsen and dining room. The rooftop open air Onsen was a great spot to enjoy the Onsen. Love the Onsen temperature and the pool were too crowded.
Although the hotel is a bit old, the facilities are perfect and the buffet is delicious. The best part is the open-air hot spring on the top floor; soaking in it while it's snowing is an unforgettable experience
The hotel was clean and the service was good; I was very satisfied. The bath and the food were especially nice. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance.

They leave towels in the sauna so they are warm, which is a nice touch especially for winter. We had lunch at lakehouse and food is high quality overall
I'm a Marriott loyalist and have had a few suite upgrades, but this might be my favorite in terms of the room layout, view, and comfort. Lots of natural light, various spots with comfy chairs to relax
Didn't want to leave the room if not for the awesome onsen downstairs. Staff is very attentive and I feel they get all the details right for a comfortable stay. Bottle water everywhere, nicely maintained onsen and sauna
We don't eat huge portions, so smaller sets or more a la carte variety would be appreciated. Chez Yoshino is a nice local french restaurant 5 min walk away, and we ended up eating dinner there and really enjoyed it
I do find the dinner options more limited this time, as they push towards set menu that costs 20000+ yen for both lakehouse and japanese restaurant, whilst the a la carte menus feel more limited
Second time here, this time in icy cold winter, but it's a great time to be here to enjoy the onsen and the tranquil, peaceful surroundings, and check out snow covered kegon falls

thank youso much🥰🥰so very nice place, the staff are so very supportive, very near in tobu world square & tobu world square station,The hotspring is so good especially the strong mist sauna & the overall complete amenities
The hotel rate is good value even though it was high season. The room is so big and comfort. There were beds and tatami zone. It takes 5 minutes walk from train station. The restaurant food is delicious
The onsen hotel is near Tobu World Square station. The staff were incredibly helpful. I went to the wrong building, but they walked me to the correct one
Very good customer service despite not speaking much English. Meals were delicious (breakfast and dinner buffet). Near Tobu square world station.
The room was very spacious and clean. The receptionists were very polite and explained the facilities in detail during check-in.
In particular a young lady Ms Henmi she was outstanding , she gave me directions on how to best get to my next port of call

There were 2 outdoor bathes available for each division, and in order for you to try all of them, you’ll have to visit both at night and morning the day after, as the bath location changes for men and women
Our family is very satisfied with this itinerary. There is a music performance in the evening. The staff is very polite and the waiter can communicate with us in Cantonese. It is a very personal service
Room was spacious with a good view of the area. Food was also great, and the staffs could speak relatively good English as well. Overall, I was very satisfied with this hotel with the amount I paid
The hotel staff is very friendly and the facilities are very complete. The Tateiwa Suspension Bridge and the observatory are definitely worth a visit.
It was clean. The hot spring was spacious. The food was delicious and there was a wide variety of options.
Very nice hotel and super friendly staff, highly recommended

The dinner was absolutely fantastic, a real highlight! 👍 After dinner, there was even an acrobatic show in the lobby
It was immaculately clean. The service was also very polite and attentive, which I truly appreciated. We had both dinner and breakfast, and the food was delicious, making for a perfectly satisfying trip.
However, there was one issue: when we checked in, the reception took our passports for photocopying. Unfortunately, they missed returning one of the passports to us
It wasn’t until after we checked out and reached our next stop that we realized one passport was missing. We had to go back to the hotel to take it
We rented a private room which had an 4 person indoor tub and two single person outdoor tubs. The outdoor tubs in cold weather are awesome! Water is very hot and air is cold which is very pleasant
The hotel is great! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with many facilities like karaoke, a game center, and more

Hotel has a nice onsen (indoor and outdoor). When requsted for a fruit knife, i am impressed that staff handed to me in a second. Room was spacious and all of us slept so well. No sound from cars, electrical stuff
We stayed at Hotel Sunshine to "re-live" the Showa age. Definitely did not disappoint. The staff here were superb- exceptionally friendly! Expect retro. This place hasn't been touched since Japan's 1980s golden days
Fruit taste was not as good as we expected though and you might not feel excited much about the food after a couple days as they’re pretty much the same. Wonderful public baht with generous amenities provided
Breakfast was better than dinner, but both were good. The onsen was good and clean, but I wish they provided towels at the onsen area and not having to bring our own. There were no face towels in the room
The hotel is very close to the train station, about a 10-minute walk. Dinner is buffet style. If you have time, I highly recommend visiting Ryuo Gorge, and the hotel's hot spring is also excellent.
That being said, everything is very clean, and the dated interior is very much part of the appeal. Even the basic rooms are sizeable and have a fantastic view from the wrap-around balcony

I feel comfortable physically and mentally after experiencing these two projects! Personally speaking, the dinner service mode suits me very well, the design is very unique, and I come back with a full meal!
The room was very clean and we had a great view of the Kinugawa River! The hotel also had a calming atmosphere, so I'm glad I stayed at this hotel! I'd love to stay here again!
The hotel facilities are complete, the hot spring environment is beautiful, and there is also a swimming pool for me to experience, which is enough for me to have a good swim
However, the parking lot is a bit inconvenient because it is far away and you have to walk more than a kilometer and take the hotel bus! I will come again next time
The hotel is in a good location and the hot spring is also very large

I wish we had had a little more time for breakfast. I wanted to eat at a leisurely pace. The curry udon I ate in front of the fireplace for dinner was a real relief. The room was comfortable, and I was able to relax
The complimentary alcohol, coffee, soft drinks, and ice cream were excellent. The dinner and breakfast buffets had a wide variety of options, so it was hard to decide what to order, but everything was delicious
The massage therapists in a 4-star hotel should be more selective. The rest of the hotel was very bad. The service of the hotel staff was excellent. The view from the outdoor onsen is very beautiful
The food was luxurious and delicious. Breakfast and dinner were buffet style. There was a wide variety of menu items and everything was delicious. There was a shuttle service from the train station
She could only speak a little, which was hard to understand. She didn't seem to know how to massage. The pillow that was used to put my face into the hole had a very bad smell of saliva
I went for a massage at the hotel. She didn't intend to massage, just rubbed and rubbed very lightly. The massage therapist seemed Chinese. She couldn't speak Japanese very well

There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, making it convenient to Yumoto and Lake Chuzenji. The hotel receptionist spoke near-native English, making communication seamless and friendly
The room was spacious, with a large meadow outside the window. At night, I could see many wild deer grazing outside. The food was delicious, and the open-air hot spring was also very nice
It's quiet, not busy, indoor and outdoor onsen. I honestly fell in love with the place. This was my first onsen Japanese style hotel, and it definitely set the bar.
My experience was beautiful! Thank you! Could be a little expensive for this small, dated pool ... But was snowing and I was happy, so...
The hotel is old, so it feels worn, but the hot springs and food were really good. I plan to come back again.
It was fully booked when we stayed there but we didn't feel the crowd. Quiet and peaceful, a great place to stay if you are visiting the Oku-nikko area. Easier to access for those who self drive

It was one of my best hot spring resort experiences in Japan. Its hot spring quality was the best. I have enjoyed outdoor hot spring during a snowy early morning, which I couldn’t forget. It was so fascinating experience
Food was great and surroundings were also very beautiful. I would come back here again next summer or fall
It's very close to the Yumoto Onsen Ski Resort, which was great as it was mostly locals skiing there. The only downside is that it's a bit far to get to; you have to take the bus and get off at stop number 45
We love the onsen and love the lake view. Had loads of fun playing with the thick snow outside the hotel. Breakfast and dinner was same food for the two nights we stayed. Beef during dinner was good.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the hot spring was very relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The surrounding nature was beautiful and peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful
The hotel is quite new, and the room is very spacious. We enjoyed soaking in the hot springs at night and strolling along the Onsen street during the day

Nikko, 1300 Kamihatsuishi-machi 🧭 Map
This was a truly lovely hotel with a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend joining the guided tour of the building. The entire hotel is well-heated, so light clothing is perfectly fine
It is also beautifully located near the Unesco World Nikko Shrines, Toshogu shrine to name a few, the famous picturesque Shinkyo bridgeand the beautiful flowing river from the falls. This hotel is highly recommended
A memorable hotel, full of old-world charm, with courteous staff. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. It's a landmark in Nikko, historically the first and most high-standard hotel
The only downside was the set dinner; while presented well, the ingredients and culinary skill weren't up to par, and the main course fish wasn't fresh
Not only did we receive excellent service during our stay, but their flexibility in accommodating our individual requests truly set them apart from other hotels – it was a world of difference. Highly recommend.
The hotel is perched on a small rise, directly opposite Shinkyo Bridge and the entrance to Toshogu Shrine. The service was excellent. While the hotel has an older feel, it's generally very quiet.

The breakfast and dinner place is comfortable and rich, the room is large and comfortable. I originally booked a Japanese-style room, but my friend couldn't sleep on the floor and asked to change to a bed room
The free cocktail and coffee services in the lobby were nice, as well as the free drink bar (including one beer per person) near the entrance to the hot spring. The paid massage service was also good
The lockers for valuables used combination dials, and foreign guests often didn’t know how to use them, locking their room keys inside and struggling to reopen them. This was a major inconvenience
really amazing service especially the onsen the adult food. It did catch us off guard as it was about 1000 USD for two nights for the 3 kids and their meals were like pasta and fries
I am not sure we would have spend this money staying with kids. Better suited for adults or if money really isn't an issue spending already so much at the hotel
The meals were decent, especially the grilled beef, which simply melted in my mouth. The restaurant staff welcomed us warmly and provided friendly service

Great location, right opposite the station, perfect for dropping off luggage and exploring Nikko. It was also an excellent choice for catching the early morning bus to Akechidaira during the autumn foliage season
The location is super, it’s opposite JR Nikko and a short walk from Tobu Nikko station. The hotel is jaded, you can tell from the light switches but the cleanliness is more or less there
The location is super convenient, just a 3-minute walk from Tobu-Nikko Station and a 1-minute walk opposite Nikko JR Station
It's really easy to get to all the attractions by bus, highly recommended! Plus, there's a hot spring public bath
The service was excellent, and booking in advance gave us great value for money!

We chose a hotel with an onsen. In the open air with a view of the mountain. There was also enough alcohol. There are free chairs for back massage. But if you want nature, this is the place for you
Unexpectedly, I was able to see the fireworks from my room. The man with glasses, a very cheerful and kind staff member, made a lasting impression on me. Thank you for your hospitality
Very good a hot spring hotel, first check in after free drinks, coffee juice beer, and snacks, the room is not big but enough, dinner buffet is very rich, there are long leg crab peony shrimp, hot food options are also many, wine is unlimited all-you-can-drink
The all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink dinner was great. There are plenty of free services available, including table tennis, badminton, karaoke, and private baths.
It's old, but that's what makes it so charming, and the bath, the welcome drink of draft beer, and the food were all fantastic, so I've vowed to definitely come back

Guests can enjoy tranquility while gazing at the lake. The breakfast environment and food are excellent, and a shuttle bus is available to Nikko Station
The Japanese breakfast was incredibly rich and exquisite, definitely worth the extra cost
Great hotel, excelent value of money, great onsen, very good breakfast

The bath was just the right temperature, and although there was a sauna, I alternated between the hot and cold baths, and before I knew it, I was in the bath for over an hour. The food was hot thanks to the hearth
Great hotel with breathtaking scenery and hotspring.
This was my first all-inclusive experience, and after checking in at the front desk, I left my luggage in my room and went up to the first floor to enjoy sparkling wine, beer, and snacks
Unfortunately, I was too full to eat the dandan noodles for dinner. I'd definitely like to try them next time. The breakfast was filling, but I had the *porridge. It was delicious! It was salty, so I had three refills
The hot springs* would have been even better if they'd brought some salt. The room felt a little old, but it was clean and well-maintained
We checked in around 2:30pm and were able to check in a little while later, but the lounge was so comfortable that we were able to spend a relaxing and luxurious time sipping beer and poached eggs while looking at the view

The room was better than I expected. I heard it's a historic hotel, so it must have been renovated; it looked quite new. I stayed on the first floor, and the open-air bath was so beautiful—you could step right outside!
We used this as a simplified version of our honeymoon. We were able to relax in a calm atmosphere
We thought it was a little pricey since we were staying over a long weekend, but we were very satisfied with the quality of the hot spring water
Lobby also has free drinking lounge, superb!! 👍🏼😊 Free shuttle service to Tobu-Nikko station
Love the view, love the cuisine. I tried the permission mille feuille for the first time here and it's sweetness and smoothness was so delicately balanced
