2 star hotels in Nikko

The staff were all very kind and I had a pleasant stay. The food was varied and all delicious, so I was very satisfied. Being able to bring my dog into the banquet hall was a nice plus. I was also impressed that there were even cute dog treats provided in the room. I think this is a wonderful hotel where you can stay safely with your dog.

This was my first time staying at Kinugawa International Hotel during my trip to Kinugawa! Overall, it was great. I was traveling alone with my two dogs, a toy poodle and a munchkin, and had a comfortable stay. I appreciated the service of taking a commemorative photo upon check-in. The building is old, but the rooms are well-maintained and clean. Traveling alone, the soft cages and cat litter were...

This was my first time staying at a hotel where you can stay with your dog. The staff are all kind and will talk to your dog. The hotel is old, but there are lots of cute dog paintings, ornaments, and decorations, which are very soothing. There is also a small museum, a dog run, and a cute souvenir corner. The room was a beautiful Japanese-style room with no pet smell. The cleaning was thorough and...

I honestly loved this pet hotel. My dogs enjoyed every bit of it and loved sitting with us while we are. We were surprised how the food was so good. Thank you to the staff for making us feel at home. Sad we had to leave early but we were left with great memories.

I stayed in a Japanese-style room with my dog. My dog is a Labrador. It's hard to stay in a hotel. I'm glad that they allow large dogs. The three dog runs on the website are good for small dogs. But they were not big enough for large dogs. That was disappointing. The food is not particularly expensive, but it's delicious. In particular, breakfast comes with rice in a rice cooker and miso soup in...

I stayed with my dog and one adult in November. I think it's wonderful that you can choose a room meal because it's a corona. The price is a little high because it takes time and extra labor costs, but the food is delicious and I am very satisfied. The inn itself is quite old and has a creaking noise level, but it has been cleaned cleanly. I don't use the hot springs in the ryokan because I couldn...

I was grateful for the accommodating hospitality despite my late arrival and late check-in time. The accommodations were spacious and clean, and the extended bathhouse hours were a nice touch.

It was enough for an overnight stay. I didn't include dinner so I went to a nearby restaurant by car. The facility was quiet and nice!

The breakfast was delicious and the accommodation was clean and nice. I left my bag there in advance, but when I checked in, they brought it to my room. I went there because the Google reviews were good, and I'm satisfied.

It was conveniently located just off the highway, clean, and had a homey feel to it.

Amazing Ryokan held by a very nice couple. The kaiseki diner and breakfast were especially Amazing !! If you don’t mind using a public bathroom I totally recommend you this Ryokan 👍

Stayed with my group as part of Intrpid tour. Very clean staff helpful. Onsen great with Kimono provided & slippers for use during stay. Western bed - very comfortable. Fantastic traditional dinner provided if booked in advance. Unfortunately no breakfast option for groups as yet. Fridge & kettle in room so good to plan ahead. Great for our needs whilst on tour. Local bus stop 18 perfect from...

The room had two futons on tatami mats. Perfect for what we needed. I slept better here than I have in a long time. Very close to the train station. There's a sliding glass door and a screen. We left the glass open and closed the screen all night for airflow. I would highly recommend staying.

Rooms are big and clean, equipped with a fridge and microwave. No yukatas provided. The Japanese style rooms are probably better, our bed was old and dusty. We were not very impressed with the service since when we asked for recommendations for onsens in the area, we were told to look by ourselves on the internet. Also did not like the phone call in the room to remind us that we had to check out in...

Staff is humble, location is good. Property is comparatively new, room size is bigger than usual. There is a Onsen right next to this hotel. Only drawback is it is on a running road thus you hear vehicles passing by.

Near Kinugawaonsen station. Lawson is just across the train track. Air conditioner Room, very spacious, tatami. There is a microwave oven, small fridge, flat screen TV, hair dryer and a dehumidifier. The bathroom is spacious too.

It’s a humble place to stay and experience Japanese style room. The host was very helpful and tied his best to help us. We stayed here for two nights and the host generously provide two bottles of mineral water (per day) and set our bed everyday. Amazing service!

Good value for the money. It's one of the cheapest properties in Nikko, but still the quality is rather good. It's clean, the stuff is extremely helpful, so I'd say it's one of the best choices to stay in Nikko. The only downside is the location, since it's like 40 minutes away by train from the Tobu-Nikko station, and the last train departs at about 10pm. But since everything's closing at around ...

The view was nice, but the staff couldn’t speak English. I understand that this is an old hotel. 😔

The view was nice, but the staff couldn’t speak English. I understand that this is an old hotel. 😔

It was very cheap and had all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink options, but the time limit was tight, so we couldn't relax. However, since we already knew the time limit, if we had followed it, it was a very reasonable stay and I think it was a good hotel.

A very nice old-fashioned hotel. Although it's quite old, it's very well maintained. Located in Kinugawa, the area is also very beautiful. While the autumn leaves at Lake Chuzenji were mostly gone at this time of year, Kinugawa itself was still stunning. Facilities: The outdoor facilities were a bit cold, but the room felt very well maintained. It had comfortable tatami mats and all the necessary...

A wide selection of traditional food – plenty to try. Beautiful views, especially if you book a room with a river view. The onsen facilities are very basic, but the water is pleasant! The hotel is old and in poor repair. The guests are mostly Japanese retirees. The receptionists speak almost no English.

Frankly, the food at Ohruri is not to my taste, and it's old and I wouldn't even call it clean, but if you understand all of that and just want to go to the hot springs cheaply, I think it's worth it. When I stayed at Hotel Mikazuki about three months ago, it was all-inclusive and the room was nice and clean, but in the end I didn't end up eating or drinking much, and I just wanted to take a bath in...

I used this hotel when I was traveling! I was told that there were a lot of mites, so I brought medicine just in case, but it wasn't that bad (individual results may vary)! What's more, the food was delicious 😋 The dining room is in a separate building, but it's spacious, so there's nothing to complain about ♪ Would I recommend it?

It's a nice, clean hotel, with very pleasant receptionists who explained everything in detail. The complimentary drinks offer a wide variety. One downside: a man came in the morning, even though it was only 9:40 a.m., asked for directions, and immediately opened the door. Be careful and lock the door from the inside. Breakfast and dinner are delicious, but are the lights bright during mealtimes? It...

It was a very quiet and relaxing place. Breakfast was in the cafeteria next door; the variety was good and the food was delicious, but the facilities were a bit old.

This traditional hot spring inn offers excellent value for money. The first floor features a hot spring bath, a souvenir shop, a lounge, and free coffee and tea. Shinkyo Bridge, two shrines, and one temple are all within walking distance. The inn has parking and is easily accessible by bus.

The location was great. It was nice to be able to go to the hot springs at the sister hotel across the street without any restrictions.

The breakfast was sumptuous and delicious

Impressed by the amount of courtesy received at my stay.

I stayed at Ichifuji for one night, during late March of 2025. I was looking for a local ryokan, one with an onsen. I had booked this ryokan 2 weeks in advance, as it was one of the few that welcomed single travelers. While rustic, and showing a little of it's age, I would whole-heartedly recommend this place to my friends, and others who are looking for a more "cozy" vibe. The ryokan is run by an...

We really enjoyed the private onsens available on the property, especially after a long day out. The family’s restaurant is located less than 100m away from the hotel. We had it for two nights and were really impressed by the grilled butter squid (super fresh squid) and the stir fried offal. It was really convenient for a warm and homey Japanese dinner fix. The room itself was also very spacious...

So amazing 🥹 dinner was the best meal we’ve had in Japan during this trip, accommodation is perfect

The staff were all friendly and warm! I made a reservation for breakfast, and as you can see in the photo, I was treated to a lot of hospitality and had a luxurious breakfast! We were free to rent out the bath depending on the timing! I would like to use it again!

First, the disadvantages. There are only stairs. There is no elevator. The top floor is on the 3rd floor, so it is not recommended for those who cannot go up to the 3rd floor. Is that the only place? The baths that can be reserved are fed directly from the source, the meals are full of locally grown vegetables, and the hot dishes are served hot and freshly prepared. This is an inn where you can keep...

The entire place was managed by a Japanese elder and a staff personnel. Although it is evident that the building isn't new, it was not dirty and it provided me with a cosy feeling. The pricing they provided for the room is extremely competitive and value for money compared to the other ryokans in the area. The location of the ryokan is also strategically located right behind the bus terminal and...

Great service for not much money. For those who did not come to sit in the room!), But to have an active rest. For a fee, there is dinner 🍲, there is Onsen, and generally clean and comfortable.

This stay at the ryokan was the highlight of my trip in June. I paid for " Japanese-Style Economy Room with Shared Bathroom" for 5000y total, but as there was no one else, I got to have a large room to myself with a connected bathroom. The best sleep I had in Japan was in that room. The gloomy weather had made my trip difficult, but listening to the rain pitter patter against the window made everything...

Clean accommodation but the shower and bath facilities were very old. The area in our room near the toilet and front door also had unpleasant smells (not sure if it came from the vent from the kitchen). There was also this consistent siren 'screaming sound' that probably came from a device outside the ryokan late in the night. However, we were able to sleep pretty well at night and the service was...

Such a lovely owner! He look like grandpa who take care us all the time.

Lovely place in need of some renovation. The owner was lovely, food absolutely fantastic and room nice. But the building was really aging, noisy pipes, relic of a bathroom and the onsen could really use a deep clean. Overall it was a strange but very enjoyable visit.

Had the best sleep of our trip here thanks to the big cozy room and tatami. Affordable and great location. Don’t expect anything new or fancy - the style of the place is very old, which we loved.

The only advantage is that it is close to Tobu Nikko Station. Turn right after exiting the station and it is about 100 meters away. The disadvantage is that it is old, unacceptably old, and the price is not cheap. I stayed there for one night without even spreading out my luggage, and checked out the next morning.

Hotel is conveniently located near the central train station and bus terminal! The people there were super nice and friendly, I did my laundry but my clothes were still not dried and they allowed me to do another dry cycle overnight FOC. The triple room is HUGE with a separated seating area that overlooks the beautiful scenery. There were floor cushions and a big table in the room. The toilet is also...

The tatami room is quite large and the area is quite good. It is also very clean. It is very close to Nikko Station. It only takes 2-3 minutes to walk out. The price is not high.

This hotel in Nikko is quite good and the location is very good

It's nice and spacious, with the feel of an old-fashioned hotel. There are many restaurants and shops downstairs, and Tobu Nikko Station is opposite, making it convenient to travel. The management model is relatively retro, and there are access control hours at night. If you don't speak Japanese, it will be a bit difficult to communicate. Overall, it is good and cost-effective.

A very quiet place to stay overnight, close to the center, very good prices, the lady who welcomes guests there is very nice and helpful, she speaks English which is a big plus.

We stayed here as a couple. The room was clean, and we had a great time with all the different toys and a piano! They also kindly lent us a hot plate and various cooking utensils, allowing us to cook our own dinner. The service and facilities were excellent, but above all, the owner's personality and thoughtfulness were the best! Thank you so much for everything! It made for a fantastic trip! We will...

I stayed here during the summer vacation. The interior was clean and stylish. The manager was friendly and very kind. It was a very comfortable place that I would recommend to others. I would like to stay here again.

The rooms were spacious and pleasant, the living room was very cozy with free coffee and tea. Furthermore, the surroundings were very nice with lots of nature. But what stands out was the owner’s kindness. We felt very welcome and the owner was kind enough to drive us to the station and back home from the station. This saved us a lot of time and trouble, which we were very thankful for!

We stayed with five groups. Since we had a mix of groups with and without children, the flexible room allocation was extremely helpful! Bookings for multiple groups can often lead to unexpected situations, such as when one group can't make it, but the cancellation policy allowed for partial cancellations, which significantly reduced our worries. (Note: This information is current as of September ...

Very kind owner - she drove me right to the doorstep. She also pointed out all the bird songs; had a lot of fun

This is an old, outdated hotel, and its remote location can be a bit inconvenient, but it's not far from Nikko Station. This pension has three strong points: 1. The thoughtfulness of the two elderly women who serve their guests, and the refined yet heartfelt meals. 2. The relatively affordable price. 3. The space, filled with antique furniture and decorations, exudes a sense of style. I highly recommend...

This is a guesthouse in Nikko, about a kilometer from the station. You have to walk there, with some uphill sections and a section along a mountain path, which is quite magical. The owner is an elderly woman, who runs the place with someone who might be her daughter. They create a very warm and comfortable environment! The house looks a bit old, and there are some stone steps to walk up, which can...

This lodge is run by a senior madam and is located about a 15-20 minute walk from the station. The rock bath was private (for 30 minutes). It was large and clean. Our room faced the mountain so it was a little dark, but the bed was good. Dinner was charcoal grilled meat and fish and was delicious. The plum wine aperitif was also excellent. It was a very quiet and lovely lodge. Above all, the madam...

A very special forest cabin🛖. If you like nature, you can consider staying here. You will definitely not be disappointed and the food is really delicious!

Thank you very much grandma for your warm hospitality. The food is very delicious.

The shop owner is an old woman, and there is another one who should be her daughter, right? He was very kind and made dinner and breakfast very carefully and delicious. Although the facilities are slightly older, the former glory can be seen. It feels amazing to live in the forest with a stream next to it. (I wonder where the old man in the sign has gone...)

Breakfast and dinner were both delicious and plentiful, and they were Italian cuisine! The hot springs were very comfortable, with both indoor and outdoor baths.

We booked this hotel with our family during the summer holidays. It's close to the tourist attractions of Nikko, and with breakfast and dinner included, it was very affordable and comfortable. The bath was spacious and there was an open-air bath, which was great. More than anything, the food was delicious, so if your time suits you, I recommend booking a room with meals included rather than just staying...

It was a very quiet place with many villas. The bed was too soft for me. I only stayed overnight, but there was an open-air bath in the bathroom, so I was able to really relax. The owner seemed like a kind person, so I felt at ease. If I have the opportunity to stay again, I'll try the dinner, as I've heard it has a good reputation!

great hospitality. delicious food. the amount is well enough for hikers. It is fairly close to Tobu Nikko station. If you plan to explore the kirifuri area, this is absolutely a perfect place for you to stay over night.

The rooms are simply furnished, but you'll be able to use the rooms with four people at the same time. The food is really great and the hosts are welcoming. If you're coming with public transport, they can pick you up and drop you off at the station. A small downside is that you'll need to pay in cash.
