Well located hotel with nice onsen - including option to book a private one. Fantastic breakfast and great access to sights around. Friendly staff and great place to disconnect and relax in an authentic way.

Stayed 3 nights here. Great bath and convenient location it is close to the temple and shrine, right next to Shinkyo. Delicious breakfast and dinner. The rooms slightly old but staff very helpful

This hotel is absolutely wonderful! Opening the window, you're greeted with a stunning view of red maple trees. The food is also exceptional; there are countless small dishes and bowls, and you'll definitely leave feeling completely full. The hot springs are incredibly relaxing too, and you can enjoy them anytime.

Nikko Hoshino Yado was, without a doubt, the most stunning chapter of our trip. It's much more than just a hotel; it's a living temple of Japanese aesthetics.

The beauty of its garden is comparable to the renowned Ruriko-in – the same interplay of light and shadow, the same myriad shades of autumn leaves, but with an added sense of private immersion. Staying in a room with a view of the autumn foliage, the window frame becomes a canvas, with the ever-changing seasonal scenery as its most priceless artwork.

The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts are not merely a feast for the taste buds but also a visual art. Each dish is like a delicate haiku, narrating the seasonal stories of Nikko through the finest ingredients of the season.

Then, sinking into the indoor and outdoor *furo* (baths), letting the warm spring water embrace your body, you can gaze upon the autumn colors of the garden or the starlit night sky. This ambiance is simply perfect. This wasn't just a stay; it was a profound healing experience centered around Japanese beauty.

The room was fantastic, very Japanese-style, and the onsen (hot spring) was truly unique. Even months after returning home, I still fondly remember how relaxing it was. The breakfast was absolutely perfect, with a wide variety of dishes, each exquisitely prepared. The overall experience was a perfect 10!

The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. The hot springs were also quite good.

This Japanese hotel offered spacious rooms, beautiful gardens, and an uncrowded onsen. However, there was no private shower in the room, meaning we had to use the communal bath for washing. The toilet area was very small, and the facilities felt quite dated. Breakfast was more about presentation than substance, and frankly, not very tasty. While they offer a shuttle service to the JR station, it only runs at limited times, making it quite inconvenient.

It was a great stay for our family. Location was perfect to explore the temples. The kaiseki dinner was delicious

The hotel even arranged for the shuttle bus to wait for us at Tobu station.
