Best Hotels in Toba

The hotel offers exceptionally clean rooms and very attentive service. The dining was also excellent, with both dinner and breakfast served buffet style, offering a wide variety of food

The best thing was the indoor golf simulator (no children here), but it definitely plays to the right, so adjust your feet by 20 degrees. The location is a bit out of the way, but the shuttle bus is very handy

This is an excellent Japanese onsen resort. Some of the Japanese-style rooms have private hot spring baths on their balconies, which are incredibly comfortable and offer great privacy, not to mention a sea view!

The hotel was conveniently located close to the ferry terminal, and the views were absolutely stunning! They had three different baths, and the food was delicious too!! For dinner, the Matsusaka beef Ise Udon was a highlight, and in the morning, the white miso soup with mekabu was so tasty!! I also bought some of the delicious nori tsukudani (seaweed paste) that was served at breakfast from their souvenir...

I was incredibly lucky to snag a room for my last-minute reservation, especially since it was right before a three-day weekend! This was my first time visiting Toba, and I traveled by car ferry

There were also many communal areas and activity facilities for guests to enjoy. This hotel provides great value for money and will definitely be my top choice when I visit Toba again

Meals: Breakfast and dinner are buffets, with seats for sea views, the taste is OK, and there is a fish dismemberment show at a fixed time. Service: Generally good, quite enthusiastic and patient

in the hot spring village, which has a good atmosphere. I personally like the public hot springs; there is a welcome sign at the door when I first arrived at the hotel

The location is superb; it's just a short walk from Toba Station, across the street. The hotel is huge, so just find your building

The hotel is too old, the rooms smelled musty, the facilities were outdated, and it wasn't good value for money.

All toiletries in the room are from Mikimoto, and they're excellent. The hot spring area also provides them, and they are available for purchase at the lobby shop

The shuttle runs every half hour; I even took photos for everyone's reference. **Regarding the Shuttle Bus:** Since we arrived by JR train, exiting the station puts you directly on the ground level

However, the shuttle stop is actually on the other side, opposite the regular bus terminal. It's easier to spot from the glass window on the second floor, near the service counter where desserts are sold

While you mentioned the portion sizes were 'rather average,' this is typical of kaiseki-style dining; although there are many courses, individual portions are small

Overall, it has no obvious weaknesses; the service, dining, and ambiance harmonized perfectly to provide the best hotel experience of our trip

The marshmallow roasting on the lawn is accessed by taking the stairs down from the restaurant area. The atmosphere is lovely, and tea is also served there

The staff are very good, the onsen is really relaxing with a great view, the room with a private bath we got was really worth it, the pool and jacuzzis are nice, and the food we had was great

Wow and wow, this hotel overlooking the ocean was amazing. The staff while some were limited in English were very accommodating. I decided on tradition Japanese meals for breakfast and dinner and they didn’t disappoint

The view from the restaurant was breathtaking when I did the 7am breakfast (I could see the sun rise) it really made me think “this is the land of the rising sun”

Dinner was a 5 course mean bought out to you in a well paced way. Very high end and luxurious feeling. The onsen especially the open air area was very relaxing talk about melt the travel away from my bones

Their sincere attitude gave us a deep sense of security and a strong sense of hospitality. The food was also incredibly delicious, and each dish made use of seasonal ingredients, and I savored the warmth

The building is a little old, but the common areas and private rooms are kept clean, which was nice. You can choose between Japanese and Western breakfast, but I recommend the Japanese one.

i got the perfect ocean view room. beautiful sunset. staffs are very attentive and speak good english. the only down side is the location, we need to drive 10km to get a restaurant that open during new year time.

This is the best value among the nearby hotels! Just plan your trip in advance

While it's a bit far, and the bus ride up and down the mountain takes half an hour each day, with the last bus leaving around 6 PM and the first at 9:55 AM, which is a bit inconvenient, the scenery is truly stunning

The room and bathroom were very spacious, with a beautiful view of the ocean and pearl farms. The bed was very comfortable, and the bedding was clean and well-made, giving off a pleasant sense of cleanliness

The room is spacious, with a separate tatami room for dining. There are microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer and kettle in the room. However, the way to the hotel is up a steep hill

Although the building and room were a little dated, the space was generous, with western beds, a tatami area, a separate spacious toilet, and a lovely hill view with a glimpse of the ocean

The private bath was simple, but the public baths on the top floor made up for it. Dinner was the highlight: a satisfying kaiseki meal with sashimi, sea bream, grilled lobsters, and more

5-hour local train journey from Osaka, the experience was well worth it

Our stay at Senpokaku Toba was a memorable one-night ryokan experience

The outdoor one has a great ambiance, and the indoor one has glass windows with fantastic views of Toba pier and Ise Bay! Dinner included sashimi, a wagyu hot pot, and Ise lobster, which were all delicious

The hotel has a free shuttle bus to and from the JR station. The room is quite large, the dining is excellent, the ingredients for breakfast and dinner are very rich, and there is also ramen for midnight snacks 🍜

Perfect place for onsen and short remedy treat! Excellent meals ( breakfast and dinner ) provided upon booking the room! Enjoying the crab dinner a lot! They even provided the ramen as supper 👍🏻👍🏻

The price was very reasonable, especially considering the time of year, which I liked! I was a little bothered by the conversations people were making in the hallway that were getting into my room! The food selection is wide, but I wish it was of high quality

I don't know about the previous facility, so I can't say anything about it, but I think they have renovated what they can to make it what it is now

I was also surprised that the young proprietress went out of her way to meet ordinary guests. It was so hot here that I was afraid to see them off

We were greeted by about 5-6 people at the hotel entrance and entered the room. After the check-in procedure, we waited for matcha tea and sweets on the sofa seats before going to the room

The bedroom has two semi-double beds, a bathtub with a jet bath, and a bathroom washbasin, and the Ise Bay spreads out from the dining room, bedroom, and bathroom, and the sunrise was beautiful in the morning

The baths were switched between men's and women's in the morning and evening, so I couldn't see the sunrise from the open-air bath, but I still had a wonderful time

It is very convenient because you can go to the room in your shoes. There are slippers for the room and slippers for outside, so you can take care of everything

I stayed in the Tsuki room, which was renovated in March 2024. At Toba Station, we were greeted in front of the Kokichi Mikimoto statue in a limousine (black)

The dinner was also delicious, and you can choose how to cook the spiny lobster and abalone in advance. For breakfast, rice, seaweed, miso stew, etc

The hot spring and breakfast are great. When I arrive the hotel that night, the restaurants of the hotel were full. The staff are very helpful and bring me to the nearby restaurant

A perfect resort hotel, right next to a beach with a great sandy beach and top-notch food. Hotel guests can also reserve a private hot spring bath for free

The advantage of being remote is that it's less crowded; if you're used to Kyoto and Tokyo, this is a real vacation experience

However, it's quite remote, so if you're not driving, I recommend taking the hotel's shuttle bus to and from Toba

The daytime staff are very nice, but the nighttime staff are a bit...I think it would be even more interesting if we could use the private hot spring the morning after our stay.

The hotel is old, the air conditioner smells, the windows don't close properly, and the wind can hear everything all night – it's very mournful.

There is a hot spring on the top floor. Except for weekends, I am the only one taking a hot spring, which is simply a private hot spring

Kaigetsu is a ryokan run by Kiku Ezaki and her family since 1887. She is an Ama diver and well known in Toba

We stayed 2 nights in this Ryokan, and it is one of the best memories of our trip. The hotel is very well located 5 min from the station and the main attractions

We got some good advice for places to visit as well as restaurants. The room was very clean, with very comfortable beds , nice kimonos

At checkout obachan even gave us onigiri! ごちそうさまでした! お祖母ちゃんお元気で We sat at Shiroyama Park bench overlooking the sea and islands, with ships and trains passing by, and the Toba castle ruins behind us, Toba is truly amazing! With the warmth of Japanese countryside hospitality we departed Toba on the Mijumaru Liner with heavy hearts and a pledge to return

This is a hotel only five minutes away from Toba Station. Toba Station has both Kintetsu and JR, and there is a pier to Dolphin Island. Five minutes in the other direction of the hotel is the aquarium and Pearl Island

Plus a mini bbq to cook beef your beef in. They’re breakfast buffet was also delicious - they had miso lobster soup! Only con for this place is the hotel is a little dated

From check-in to check-out, the staff were very polite and I had a very pleasant stay. The view was amazing, and I was really impressed by the panoramic view of the Ise-Shima Sea

I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity. The experience of feeding the local black kites was also a lot of fun

I forgot to mention you can field eagles at 7:10-7:15am for 5 mins. It’s intense and the eagles do swoop down

The hotel is in a remote location. The rooms are very beautiful and the service is also very good. Although it is a long drive from Osaka, I am tired from a lifetime

There was no guidance to the room or greetings from the room attendant as a countermeasure against corona infection, but I thought it was unavoidable due to the circumstances, so I didn't pay much attention to it

This is an inn I would like to return to again
