Beppu, 5-32 Shoningahamacho, 874-0023 Beppu, Prefektura Oita, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
Good view, good services. The room's balcony offered a beautiful full sea view, and the room itself was very spacious. However, breakfast was served in a separate building, which was a bit inconvenient, and the food selection was limited and unappetizing.
The hotel room was absolutely fantastic and very spacious. The design of the living room, bedroom, bathroom, and balcony was incredibly thoughtful. Soaking in the tub in the room, while looking out at the sea, was incredibly comfortable and truly therapeutic.
Excellent views excellent service in room
Onsen bath both indoor and outdoor plus a very good breakfast buffet
While not cheap, the quality of the room, half-board dining, and hotel facilities met expectations for the price. The room was perfect, featuring a walk-in closet, a living room with sea views, a private hot spring bath, a Japanese-style room, and a bedroom. The dinner quality was excellent, and we were served by staff who spoke Chinese, so the meal explanations were very detailed. For breakfast, we...
Very nice stay, would be better if there are more in room dining amenities and cleaner sink, as well as reminder before arriving to book for restaurants with limited capacities.
Facilities are well maintained, vip lounge is spacious and well organised, room is spacious, clean and comfortable

This is our 2nd time to stay at this hotel. ANA intercontinental Beppu maintains its quality standard. The room is clean and comfortable with good view. The restaurants offer the delicious food. The outdoor onsen facility provides the beautiful ocean view. In the meanwhile, their SPA is nearly the best treatment which we have experienced. This hotel is highly recommended for the stay when you visit...
After reading other reviews, they were all overwhelmingly positive.
Having stayed in numerous hotels, the ANA InterContinental Beppu definitely ranks in my top three.
First, let's talk about transportation:
Beppu Station is quite small. Remember to exit from the West Exit (this was told to us by the hotel shuttle driver; apparently, many international guests wait for a long time at the East Exit...
The room was great, but the location is super remote – be prepared for a very quiet, almost deserted area. You'll need taxis to get around. Breakfast was really mediocre, and the hot springs were just okay, definitely not worth the price.
Nice hotel and good experience of hot spring and really suitable for family
Best hotel in Beppu,, Onsen very relaxing, service and staff are amazing, Elements restaurant is not too bad. Would definitely come here again
This is an excellent hotel. It's nestled on a mountain overlooking the ocean, offering beautiful scenery. The hot springs are fantastic, and they even have private baths available for an extra charge. Dinner was superb; we had Japanese cuisine in an elegant setting. The Japanese chef was very professional, and the dishes were outstanding. Breakfast was semi-buffet style and also delicious. The rooms...

suitable for family, as always, good dinner and breakfast, perfect view.
The staff are very friendly & helpful. The room is spacious & comfortable though a bit old. The sea view is excellent
I booked the full board package. Room has ample space and a wonderful view to the sea! Dinner set was delicious. A very relaxed environment, nice getaway vacation stay.
5 ⭐️ services, great room with private onsen and sea view, great breakfast. Will definitely book this hotel when coming back to Beppu.
Overall, the standard is incredibly high! It's perfect for a relaxing getaway. The public bath facing the sea 🌊 is an absolute must-try. You can give the Japanese set dinner a try; don't set your expectations for the taste too high, but the ambiance is quite nice.
The room was very spacious and clean, and the front desk staff helped carry our luggage to the room. They were also very clear and helpful with any questions we had. Breakfast was just okay, not particularly delicious, but not bad either – pretty uninspired. The only downside was the hotel's somewhat remote location. There's no shuttle bus to Beppu Station, so you have to take public transportation...

Beppu, 628-1 Tsurumi 🧭 Map
The room was enormous, and you could enjoy the ocean view from your room. The public bath on the 6th floor had a great view, and the 1st floor was also nice. The outdoor bath on the 1st floor had a landscaped area, was even larger, and there was also a dry steam room. The breakfast and dinner were incredibly filling, and I couldn't finish them all. The hotel is very close to the White Pond Hell, just...
Go to Beppu Station's west exit, on the left, at Station 3. Take Line 1 bus 🚌 to the last stop, Kannawa. It's a two-minute walk to Sansuikan. It's so convenient. From Sansuikan, walk left for about eight minutes to Umijigoku 😊. Umijigoku isn't big, but it has a foot bath where you can soak your feet. An hour's worth of exploration is enough. Beppu is a rural area, so don't expect great restaurants...
The rooms are very clean and a must-see for a stay with two meals. Right next to the hotel are White Pond Hell and Sea Hell, a 15-minute walk away. Blood Pond Hell and Tornado Hell are also easily accessible via bus number 16, which takes 15 minutes.
The hotel is in a great location, just across from Kannawa Station from Fukuoka Airport. While the hotel is older, the rooms are clean and the service is excellent. The public hot springs are large and private, so you can enjoy them privately. You can even watch the sunrise from your room.
Since I had to stay one night in Beppu, I had no choice but to choose a place close to Kannawa Bus Terminal.
First of all, the cons that I remember are:
✅️A room that was tricked into saying it had an ocean view
✅️A unique smell
✅️Noise between floors and hallways
✅️No place to enjoy (at night) around
The good points are:
✅The large bath on the first floor (better than the 6th floor)
️✅️A clean open...
The room is a sea view room! There is no crowd at all for the 4 of us!
The open-air hot spring is amazing! Enjoy the sea view and the breeze!
The hotel is just on the roadside, very close to Beppu Onsen!
The fried chicken nearby is super delicious! I want to eat more!

This resort is amazing! From the unique architecture to their services are absolutely fantastic. We stayed on the 4th floor which was looking onto the beautiful townscape and coastline of Beppu. With real hotspring introduced to the bathtub in private room, it felt very special. We had some of the most amazing meals in Kyushu there during our 2 night stays. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional...
Extremely beautiful hotel with stunning views of Beppu. The design is sleek and modern, with unique artworks placed throughout the property. Our room had a private onsen bath overlooking the city—absolutely gorgeous—and the balcony was just as stunning.
Breakfast was fantastic as well, and they were able to provide gluten free options.
We can’t say enough good things about this hotel and were genuinely...
This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel that offers a truly luxurious and private experience. The rooms are large, spacious, and feature a stunning in-room onsen, which was an absolute highlight. The best part? You get an amazing aerial view of the Beppu coastline right from your room and your private bath.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It might be my favourite place I've ever stayed.
The building itself is absolutely stunning. We probably spent an hour just walking around taking pictures. Such a cool space and a fantastic view of Beppu and the sea. So relaxing to watch the view change as the sun sets. Great sunrise from the balcony too if you wake up early.
Our room was huge and...
Our stay at Galleria Midobaru was one of the highlights of our trip to Beppu.
The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed, and the private onsen that opened up to a balcony with an unbelievable view of the city was truly unforgettable.
The room had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. There is a private onsen in each room that opens up to an ultra-private balcony area. Every...
If you’re looking for a luxurious stay with a private onsen in Beppu this is it. Comparable to the ANA Intercontinental but probably half the cost.

Beppu, 6-6 Kusunokimachi, 874-0943 Beppu, Prefektura Oita, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
The stylish interior made for a very comfortable stay. The location in Beppu was also very convenient for finding dinner spots. However, I did notice some dust and the window screens were dirty. Despite that, I would still like to stay here again.
The room as a whole was clean and nice.
I think it would be good for family trips with small children.
However, the bathroom isn't very spacious, so it might get crowded.
There were plenty of towels and other amenities provided, which was great.
The location is also good as it's in the city center.
The room was spotless. Check-in and check-out were both seamless.
The room was excellent, clean, spacious, and beautiful. It was conveniently located with a supermarket nearby.
The place I located 10 minute walk from Beppu station. The checkin is done through a tablet on the reception. Unmanned. Make sure you have the entrance pin code. Not the easiest of checkins.
The walls in the bathroom are dusty, the AC too.
The bathroom is not heated, so very cold.
We had the AC on max, still very cold, there was a cold draft from one of the light switches.
The beds are comfy and clean
The hotel is new and the rooms are large, perfect for families. Everything is very clean and modern, so we were very satisfied. The only downside is that there's no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage yourself. There's a big supermarket nearby, and if you're driving, you can park in the paid parking lot right outside the supermarket, which has reasonable rates.

Great friendly place in the middle of Beppu. Breakfast is excellent!!
There is an amazing view of the city from the onsen, which is on the 8th floor.
Baths here are fantastic! Roomy rooms with traditional floor mat bedding, but comfy!
ONSEN review: for non guests entrance fee ¥500, pay at the reception where you can also get the onsen stamp. Take the elevator to the 7th floor and the walk up the stairs to the 8th floor where the onsen is. Free lockers, shampoos are provided. Bring your own towel, otherwise you can rent from the hotel. There is a big indoor tub, two outdoor tubs, one normal and one shallow for you to be able to lay...
Decent rooms for the price. The rooms were very small and the windows were so cloudy you couldn't see through them. However, their breakfast was very good quality and the open air onsen on the roof gave a great night time view.

The room was large, affordable, and Japanese-style. For each day I stayed, I received a voucher for a specific nearby onsen. It was really good.
First time experiencing a self-check-in hotel. Finding the hotel was easy and just a short walk from the train station.
First time experiencing a self-check-in hotel. Finding the hotel was easy and just a short walk from the train station.
The price is not too expensive because it is a holiday stay. There is a kitchen for convenient use, but the bathroom must be shared. The transportation is convenient. If there is an opportunity, I will stay again.
It was a homey Japanese guest house. The front desk left very early though and we ended up having to help lots of people check in, it felt almost like we worked there.
Owner is realy nice and changed my staying nights even if he did not had to.

Great location, has a private bath
Before getting married, my mom and I were looking for a cost-effective ryokan to travel to, and both my mom and I were very satisfied with this place. It was a quiet, country-style place that I would love to visit again. It felt like going to my grandmother's house. Anyway, I had a great time👍🏻
This was the best accommodation I've had so far in Japan. It's a great experience to live in a building that resembles a Japanese house, and there's also a private hot spring that families or couples can use together. I was very tired, but it felt like it was all gone. Be careful because the water temperature is hot. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided smell so good that I'm looking into...
It wasn't too far to walk to the tourist attractions, and it was nice that the area was dark and quiet at night! The bedding was soft and warm, so I slept well. ㅎㅎ
The Wi-Fi didn't work, so I recommend downloading movies or dramas!
The owner's grandmother and son were very kind!
The bedroom is ok, amenities are ready. including TV, refrigerator, sink, washbasin thermos It's considered okay for people who have never slept together like in Japan.
Just across the street is an alley with Kirinko and famous Yufuin stores. Because it's at the bottom of the mountain, it's quiet and you can wake up to the sound of birds. If I had some free time, this is where I wanted to take a break for a few days. It's close to the bus stop and there's a Lawson convenience store. I was also able to enjoy the romance of a small open-air hot spring.

I like it very much. The host (both male and female) are very nice, especially the host woman is very help which helped to dry my tee. Assi the cat is really cute but has a little bit temper.
The location is excellent and I got a very good sleep. The house is really beautiful.
Overall is high satisfactory, except for two points below:-
1. There is no air-conditioning in the common area (which is...
Not far from the station but if you have big luggage you have to drag it uphill a little bit 🥹. The street in Yufuin in the evening is very quiet and dark so recommend to get back to the place not too late.
The place was run by the very nice lady (felt like she’s a mom or granny) and Assi the cat. The room is way soooooo cute and cozy that I should stay here more than 1 night 🥹
It’s B&B style with...
cozy homestay by 5 mins walk from Yufuin station, great service with non-public onsen and breakfast included, will have to share bathroom if you don’t mind. And of course having Assi around definitely made your stay unforgettable.
I stayed with Assi for one night when I travelled to Yufuin by myself. It was a healing and relaxing experience. It felt so much like staying with your grandma in the rural side of the country.
The hotel was run by an old lady who would use translation app to introduce you to the place. She was very responsive to questions and friendly to talk to.
My stay in the Japanese style room was great, there...
a neat and cozy place! the road to the house is a bit narrow but once you are inside you can truly relax. the hostess kept the place really neat and tidy. the location is great as well. Definitely recommend.
Room is so cute, I booking standard room for one person and in the room they prepare everything; single bed with pajamas, coat, refrigerator, and couch. And they have small kitchen with free of water and coffee. location a little far from the JR station around 10 minute by walk.

I had a lovely time here. The cabin was clean and the personal onsen was very relaxing.
Date visited: end June 2025
Fabulous room. A spacious living room, fully equipped kitchen with utensils and cutlery, bowls etc. a small electric oven, microwave oven and a big fridge. Best of all, it comes with a private outdoor onsen! Wow!
A patio for you to bbq and I saw maple trees beside the patio and would imagine nice views during autumn.
Sleeping in attic and you could sleep in the living room...
We stayed in one of the cabins with private indoor and outdoor onsen. We loved it! It was our first onsen experience in Japan, but certainly not the last. We also checked out the public indoor and outdoor onsen but as we were traveling with small kids, we mainly opted for the private bath.
The cottage was spacious and modern with a well equiped kitchen and we also liked the BBQ set. Will definately...
The private bath outside was a perfect onsen temperature and the place was clean and comfortable. Very pleased that I booked our stay here. The parking space outside our house allowed our car rental to fit adequately.
Amazing hut in the forest with private and public onsen
Best value for money you can get
Option for yakiniku/sukiyaki set is great and recommend too
To bad i was there only for 1 night 🤣
We rented a cabin with a private onsen. We were very happy with our private cabin and could use the onsen any time after visiting all the beautiful nature around the onsen. One of the best experiences in Japan so far in combination with hiking on Mt. Aso
