The room is clean and has a wide view. The hotel is great. It is a family hotel in Japan. The hotel is a one-stop shop. You can enjoy your vacation time without leaving the hotel. I will come again next time

The bath was good and the pool was great for my family. The food was delicious, we ate too much and drank too much, but we slept well and had a great time. Next time, I'd like to come with my grandchildren

We booked the Sora-kan, and the Sora-yu on the top floor is quite comfortable and not crowded. The hotel's buffet is very rich, and the amusement center is also very interesting

I thought the light show might be a bit rustic, but I didn't expect it to be a surprise. It's simply a low-end Disney 😀. I will choose this hotel next time I come to Beppu!

It was very beautiful and the view was great. It was on the mountain side, but there were still cherry blossoms left and the cherry blossoms seen from afar were beautiful

The hotel exceeded our expectations! After arriving at the hotel, we paid a little extra to upgrade to a 46-square-meter sea view room, which is quite luxurious in Japan

Both breakfast and dinner were substantial, and a special highlight was being able to try the local specialty, 'Jigoku Mushi' (hell-steamed dishes), cooked with 98-degree hot water directly from the onsen

The twin room was 26 square meters, clean and tidy. I stayed on the 16th floor, where I could see Beppu Bay to the left and trains arriving and departing from the station to the right

Kim at the front desk was very nice and helped us with changing to non smoking room without much hassle. Deserve 5 stars

Single room typical Japanese style but a bit narrow to accommodate 24” luggage with both sides fully open

Buffet has good spread, but the meat stew serving was limited, after 8am there’s no more meat in the stew, left with the carrots, lotus roots etc. should refill as the buffet ends 930am

This traditional Japanese hotel is conveniently located a 5-6 minute walk from the JR station, and it's popular among Japanese guests. While the facilities are a bit dated, the service remains warm and friendly

We had one day free in Fukuoka and we decided to spend one day in Beppu, chose this hotel. That was the only one right choice ever. Amazing hotel, great food, so kind stuff and we spent all the time in onsen there

Cons - hotel is situated about 7km from the main sightseeing area of Beppu (Kannawa). If you don’t have a car, taxi is about Y3000 each way. If you do have a car, parking around Beppu is not too hard

dinner buffet and breakfast buffet are awesome. I visited the hotel via tour, so the location is not a problem for me. the hot spring area is relatively small

There was a definite air of old seaside town about the place and it was very chill - the onsen in the hotel itself was very nice and wasn't at all busy when we were there

The room's window opens to an unobstructed view of the blue sky, and the hotel's hot spring is very comfortable. The space isn't large but it's cozy, very clean, and quiet.

The breakfast however did get quite crowded with tour groups so going down later worked the best for us - if you had to go in peak time there was often a queue

The room was compact but very comfortable and had all the things needed for a comfy stay. Staff were lovely and the japanese pj's provided we're a nice touch

Fantastic location for traveling around beppu as well as arriving from Fukuoka and leaving to Oita airport. The hotel is right next to both bus stops

Excellent value for money, convenient for transportation and shopping, and the hotel facilities and surroundings were all great. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Beppu

The infinity pool isn't very deep, making it suitable for children. It was still a bit chilly in March, but luckily, there's a warm pool nearby where you can soak for a while. The restaurant offers great value for money

Breakfast is also quite refined, offering both buffet and à la carte options

The outdoor onsen facility provides the beautiful ocean view. In the meanwhile, their SPA is nearly the best treatment which we have experienced. This hotel is highly recommended for the stay when you visit Beppu

Remember to exit from the West Exit (this was told to us by the hotel shuttle driver; apparently, many international guests wait for a long time at the East Exit only to find out it's the West Exit)

This is our 2nd time to stay at this hotel. ANA intercontinental Beppu maintains its quality standard. The room is clean and comfortable with good view. The restaurants offer the delicious food

Dinner was superb; we had Japanese cuisine in an elegant setting. The Japanese chef was very professional, and the dishes were outstanding. Breakfast was semi-buffet style and also delicious

Although the hotel is a bit old, it's clean and tidy. The complimentary afternoon tea and desserts were especially delicious. The indoor and outdoor onsens were very comfortable. Overall, I had a great experience

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable! The bath was also spacious and filled with natural hot spring water, so I enjoyed it. The soundproofing was also solid, so I wasn't bothered by noise from next door

the central heat in the room was too much, had to open window a bit. free pudding and ice pops aren't really our cup of tea, but it was a great gesture. onsen was great experience, room is spacious for 4 of us

More than anything, there were lots of services provided, such as tea time service and pudding and alcohol service in the evening, so I was very comfortable throughout my stay!

The service was warm and attentive, and the location was convenient – less than a 10-minute walk from the station. There's also a bus stop right outside for buses to Yufuin

The free afternoon tea everyday is a big plus. It's also close to the station, walk 5-8mins only. A Lawson is within 5 mins. Hotel is classy and clean.

I booked the full board package. Room has ample space and a wonderful view to the sea! Dinner set was delicious. A very relaxed environment, nice getaway vacation stay.

You can give the Japanese set dinner a try; don't set your expectations for the taste too high, but the ambiance is quite nice

Breakfast was just okay, not particularly delicious, but not bad either – pretty uninspired. The only downside was the hotel's somewhat remote location

This hotel has such a romantic, old-style charm. The bedroom was incredibly spacious—we even managed to have a family supper for 8 people comfortably inside! The onsen is also very nice and relaxing

I had a great time because of the clean interior and comfortable bathroom. The open-air bath was especially nice and it was a good place to stay

The food was good both in the evening and in the morning, but the bathroom, toilet and washbasin were all in one place and there was a step between the bathroom and the hallway, so there is room for improvement.

I don't like this hotel in Beppu. It's too old.

This hotel is right across from Mojiko Station, just a 3-minute walk away. The staff are really friendly and the executive lounge is open from 3 PM to 9 PM for free. I'll definitely book this hotel again next time.

A really great hotel, super close to Beppu JR station and just a few minutes' walk to the beach. The hotel itself is lovely, with a coffee shop on the first floor, and there are tons of restaurants nearby.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the JR station. The decor and design are beautiful and very clean. It's also suitable for two people, and the room TV is quite large

Hotel Arthur has comfortable, newly refurbished rooms. Breakfast was with a view from its 10th floor restaurant. Spectacular burning of Ogiyama during spring was amazing reason to visit Beppu.

The breakfast selection was quite good. The only downside was that the hotel parking lot was across the street. It just so happened that it was raining heavily the day I arrived

Good location for traveling by car. Thanks to this, the view is good. I made a reservation that included children, but I almost had to pay more because it wasn't properly marked

I stayed here because I had to go to the ferry terminal early in the morning. It was very convenient, with Toyoken (a famous chicken tempura restaurant) nearby and a supermarket within walking distance

The hotel is a bit old, but the staff is friendly and the accommodation is clean. Above all, the parking lot is large and parking is free, making it a great place to travel by rental car.

The biggest miscalculation was dinner, and I heard that it comes with a seafood bowl, but within the price of about 8,000 yen (including Rakuten coupon), I was prepared for a seafood bowl alone, but I usually set meals such as toriten and chawanmushi

The bath is indoors, but it was very clean and nice. I was able to watch YouTube on the TV in the room

I'm not sure what the reasoning was. To take a bath, I had to carry a basket out and go to the main building. The slippers provided were also very slippery. It was very inconvenient, especially in the cold weather

No on site car park and have to use a nearby car park which is 600 yen per entry. The don’t clean the room daily but can change your towel if you want

However, transportation in Miyazaki is quite inconvenient; you need to book a taxi in advance to get back to the station from the hotel, as it's hard to hail one from the street

The hotel room is a little small and bed is soft but overall still quite good for location and front desk service.

It's a bit of a walk from the station, and dragging luggage was a bit tough

When I booked, it only showed the room, not that it was in an annex building. We ended up being placed in the building next door, which had much simpler facilities and was significantly smaller

The snow and the church that is white in color just camouflage and it makes it look so stunning. What I loved the most is the fact that they served separated Halal menu for Muslims

The hot spring is so great. And The staff at the hotel was very helpful and courteous. We enjoyed pingpong for an hour.

Went with a friend this time. They have free hot springs/baths, and it wasn't too crowded. The best part is it's super, super cheap and the location is very convenient, easily accessible whether you have a car or not.

All front desk staff I spoke to spoke English! Check out was done easily by giving the card back to front desk and confirming room number and number of people. Didn’t state a preference so i got a smoking room

Breakfast is 6:30to 9:30 just present card key to restaurant staff. Overall, would book again for the next Beppu stay. I might even get to try the onsen next time

When i entered there was a lingering smoke smell but it was a quick fix with the air purifier available. Amenities are available by the 2 floor elevator where the reception is

Good location being right across the bus and train station. The staff are nice and accommodating. Went there earlier than check in time but I was able to leave my luggage

Very close to train station. They rent e-bikes for a good price. 1500 yen for 6 hours or a little more for the whole day. Was able to cycle to all the sights and tackle the hills easily.

While it's true they are adjacent to the elevated rail, in practice this isn't really a problem for all but the most sensitive travellers because of frequency and limited use at night

A business hotel that is just 4mins away from beppu station. Staffs are friendly. Breakfast is delicious. Room is very clean. Price is reasonable. Totally recommended.

This hotel is super close to Beppu Station, just a short walk away, yet surprisingly, there's no noise. The room was clean, and so was the washing machine

I liked infinity bath on the 7th floor, but due to the strong wind I could enjoy it for long time. However sunset and full moon were do beautiful and bath was comfortably hot

There are table tennis, billiard, massage chairs and gaming machines in the basement, omiyage shop. I liked choose of sizes and colors of yukatas too

The Best Hotel Experience for a Solo Traveler in Beppu! As a solo traveler who has explored Japan for years, I can confidently say that this hotel stands out as the absolute best I've experienced so far

A little dissapointed with the Female onsen pool which is very small, also only one person at a time can use hairdryer and amenities at the changing area. Male onsen pool larger and more amenities provided

The outdoor bath was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. Parking costs 500 yen, but they offered parking upon check-in, which was convenient.

However, compared to other hot spring hotels in the same price range, there's no welcome drink or all-you-can-drink option, and only iced water is provided after the hot spring bath

The transportation is quite convenient. You can get there by walking a few dozen meters uphill from the bus stop. The main entrance is being renovated and a simple 🪜 is built

When I asked if I had to pay for breakfast since my child was 5 years old, they told me several times that it was the same as an adult. I couldn't believe it, so I asked again, and they said, oh, then I don't have to pay

Wow, it was really bad for the price. It was over 700,000 won per night. and during my 2 night stay, I couldn't eat the kaiseki meal because it was full

Great location near Station . Free hot spring really clean and safe. Near by the hotel got station market just a few minutes walk good to buy something fresh interest local food . Breakfast healthy and good quality food.

Good hotel close to the railroad station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was at the smaller side and for 2 people would be hard to move. Pillow was rock hard but they have more pillows at the reception

Washing machine is reasonable priced at 200 and dryer is free! Appreciate the amenities and service!! Slight negative is the carpark and a 3 mins walk for 1200 per night

For my one-night stay in Beppu, I chose Meimatsu Oetei. Although it's an older hotel, it's incredibly well-maintained. The Japanese-style room was advertised as 15 sq m, but it felt much more spacious in reality

While the building and rooms are recognisable a bit older it is well kept and clean. The staff is absolutely top notch and the food was very tasty and of good quality

This was the only place in Beppu I could find that had hot springs and let solo travelers book a room for my timeframe. Would come again! Also kudos for the pianist playing ghibli songs in the evening

There are public baths on both the rooftop and the 3rd floor, with separate facilities for men and women. Swimsuits are not allowed, nor are mobile phones

Nothing but good things to say about the hotel, it is one of the best stays I´ve had anywhere and a hotel with excellent value

I booked the one-night, two-meal plan, and the food was incredibly generous – I even had a lot of beef leftover from dinner the second night, which was a shame! The staff were all very friendly, and the sea view was absolutely stunning

However, if you want variety you'll need to head down to the main city center. We did not have a car, but a simple taxi ride got us to the station and downtown very easily
