Beppu, 5-17 Chuo 🧭 Map
Clean room and convenient location, convenience store right opposite of the hotel. The room is spacious as well. We were lucky to have a room that can see the fireworks from our hotel room window. It was a nice stay.
Everything was very good, except the temperature in the room, because it’s super warm in winter, and it can’t be controlled in the room. Hotspring was very nice!
Kim at the front desk was very nice and helped us with changing to non smoking room without much hassle. Deserve 5 stars
The twin room was 26 square meters, clean and tidy. I stayed on the 16th floor, where I could see Beppu Bay to the left and trains arriving and departing from the station to the right. Both breakfast and dinner were substantial, and a special highlight was being able to try the local specialty, 'Jigoku Mushi' (hell-steamed dishes), cooked with 98-degree hot water directly from the onsen.
Hotel has nice hot spring. Single room typical Japanese style but a bit narrow to accommodate 24” luggage with both sides fully open. Buffet has good spread, but the meat stew serving was limited, after 8am there’s no more meat in the stew, left with the carrots, lotus roots etc. should refill as the buffet ends 930am. Like the hot noodles.
The location is decent, about a 5-minute walk from the JR station. The hotel facilities are a bit old, but the cleanliness is acceptable. The room didn't have much of a view and you could hear the train. The onsen and breakfast areas were very crowded. This Kamenoi wasn't as good as the one we stayed at previously in Toba. The hot springs in Beppu are definitely worth visiting!

I have been here several times because they have an amazing spa/Onsen! Location is very central and super clean
A lovely relaxing hotel right on the Beppu beach road. There was a definite air of old seaside town about the place and it was very chill - the onsen in the hotel itself was very nice and wasn't at all busy when we were there.
The breakfast however did get quite crowded with tour groups so going down later worked the best for us - if you had to go in peak time there was often a queue.
The room...
The room's window opens to an unobstructed view of the blue sky, and the hotel's hot spring is very comfortable. The space isn't large but it's cozy, very clean, and quiet.
Excellent value for money, convenient for transportation and shopping, and the hotel facilities and surroundings were all great. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Beppu. I hope more Chinese-speaking tourists choose this hotel.
The room was quite clean, and it even had a hot spring. The surrounding area is very convenient with plenty of food options. It's right next to the Oita TV Tower and not far from the JR station. The yakiniku (grilled meat) and tempura places nearby were absolutely delicious.
The hotel is right next to Beppu Tower, and Beppu Station is also very close. It looks really nice at night. There are two supermarkets nearby, which is convenient for buying food, and it's also easy to get to several hot springs. I'm writing this review a long time after my stay, so I've forgotten if there was a hot spring in the hotel itself.

This is our 2nd time to stay at this hotel. ANA intercontinental Beppu maintains its quality standard. The room is clean and comfortable with good view. The restaurants offer the delicious food. The outdoor onsen facility provides the beautiful ocean view. In the meanwhile, their SPA is nearly the best treatment which we have experienced. This hotel is highly recommended for the stay when you visit...
After reading other reviews, they were all overwhelmingly positive.
Having stayed in numerous hotels, the ANA InterContinental Beppu definitely ranks in my top three.
First, let's talk about transportation:
Beppu Station is quite small. Remember to exit from the West Exit (this was told to us by the hotel shuttle driver; apparently, many international guests wait for a long time at the East Exit...
The room was great, but the location is super remote – be prepared for a very quiet, almost deserted area. You'll need taxis to get around. Breakfast was really mediocre, and the hot springs were just okay, definitely not worth the price.
Nice hotel and good experience of hot spring and really suitable for family
Best hotel in Beppu,, Onsen very relaxing, service and staff are amazing, Elements restaurant is not too bad. Would definitely come here again
This is an excellent hotel. It's nestled on a mountain overlooking the ocean, offering beautiful scenery. The hot springs are fantastic, and they even have private baths available for an extra charge. Dinner was superb; we had Japanese cuisine in an elegant setting. The Japanese chef was very professional, and the dishes were outstanding. Breakfast was semi-buffet style and also delicious. The rooms...

Great tradional hotel with traditional baths.Good food too.
The food is great, the quality of dinner food surprised me. Onsen is very big.
the central heat in the room was too much, had to open window a bit. free pudding and ice pops aren't really our cup of tea, but it was a great gesture. onsen was great experience, room is spacious for 4 of us. would come back to stay again. location is quiet and convenient. garden was beautiful

I stayed here because I had to go to the ferry terminal early in the morning.
It was very convenient, with Toyoken (a famous chicken tempura restaurant) nearby and a supermarket within walking distance.
The bath is indoors, but it was very clean and nice.
I was able to watch YouTube on the TV in the room.
The breakfast selection was quite good. The only downside was that the hotel parking lot was across the street. It just so happened that it was raining heavily the day I arrived. The room was spacious and the view from the window was beautiful. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time.
The lady at the front desk was very kind and said she would like to stay again with her children.
They were very kind, thank you very much.
It was a fun trip.
I stayed in a smoking room. I'm a smoker so it was good because there are only non-smoking rooms available these days.
The breakfast was also delicious and I ate too much.
The hotel staff were always smiling and helpful so I was very satisfied.
Triple room for a family of four.
The hot spring is only an indoor bath, but it's great value for money.
I recommend not ordering breakfast, but looking for a place that serves breakfast instead!
The hotel is a bit old, but the staff is friendly and the accommodation is clean.
Above all, the parking lot is large and parking is free, making it a great place to travel by rental car.

I would like to commend Mr. M. Tatewaki for his outstanding professionalism, helpfulness, and friendliness in assisting me with a last-minute room booking. dinner buffet and breakfast buffet are awesome.
I visited the hotel via tour, so the location is not a problem for me.
the hot spring area is relatively small. but I like the drinks (water, vinegar, juice, amazake which is a very light alcohol ) they offer outside the spa.
Pros - great facilities including views, parking, good sized rooms, helpful and friendly staff, pool and onsen, ping pong room, huge buffet breakfast and dinner in a huge dining hall, kids activities, 7-11 convenience store short walk away, bath in the room.
Cons - hotel is situated about 7km from the main sightseeing area of Beppu (Kannawa). If you don’t have a car, taxi is about Y3000 each way. If...
My recent stay at the Grand Mercure Beppu Bay Resort & Spa was absolutely outstanding, primarily due to the exceptional staff who consistently went the extra mile to ensure a memorable experience .

The hotel is close to the sea with beautiful views, and the room itself is large and comfortable. There’s also an onsen, which makes the stay even more relaxing. I really liked the welcome lounge and the fact that they provide free alcoholic drinks at two different times of the day. It felt like a perfect mix of comfort, good service, and a touch of luxury. Large comfortable clean room. I loved the rooftop onsen. The breakfast and dinner were good, not 5*, but certainly you can find some nice food to fill you up. The only thing I really didn't like was there was no WiFi anywhere except the lobby, and there is nowhere comfortable to sit in there. WiFi is a basic requirement nowadays.
I liked the hotel. Very good selection for breakfast and dinner, convenient onsens, amenities of good quality and wide selection of shampoos, face cleansers, creams, etc. I liked infinity bath on the 7th floor, but due to the strong wind I could enjoy it for long time. However sunset and full moon were do beautiful and bath was comfortably hot.
There are table tennis, billiard, massage chairs and...
Room with very good view. Very nice onsen, both indoor and rooftop.
Good value waterfront hotel. It's a bit dated and it could use a majority renovation, but it's fairly clean. Good service, and very good dinner and breakfast . The city view was not worth it. I would pay the extra and book the oceanview.
Room and onsen were good - clean, spacious, lovely view and not crowded. The food for breakfast and dinner average, not Wow type and same menu for our 2 night stay. A big mall nearby but close early 10am to 7pm. The hotel is popular with Japanese, ********* and Koreans but luckily the onsen though only one each indoor and outdoor, was not crowded so can go several time in a day and good amenities provided...

Good view, good services. The room's balcony offered a beautiful full sea view, and the room itself was very spacious. However, breakfast was served in a separate building, which was a bit inconvenient, and the food selection was limited and unappetizing.
The hotel room was absolutely fantastic and very spacious. The design of the living room, bedroom, bathroom, and balcony was incredibly thoughtful. Soaking in the tub in the room, while looking out at the sea, was incredibly comfortable and truly therapeutic.
Excellent views excellent service in room
Onsen bath both indoor and outdoor plus a very good breakfast buffet
While not cheap, the quality of the room, half-board dining, and hotel facilities met expectations for the price. The room was perfect, featuring a walk-in closet, a living room with sea views, a private hot spring bath, a Japanese-style room, and a bedroom. The dinner quality was excellent, and we were served by staff who spoke Chinese, so the meal explanations were very detailed. For breakfast, we...

The staff are very friendly & helpful. The room is spacious & comfortable though a bit old. The sea view is excellent
I booked the full board package. Room has ample space and a wonderful view to the sea! Dinner set was delicious. A very relaxed environment, nice getaway vacation stay.
5 ⭐️ services, great room with private onsen and sea view, great breakfast. Will definitely book this hotel when coming back to Beppu.
Overall, the standard is incredibly high! It's perfect for a relaxing getaway. The public bath facing the sea 🌊 is an absolute must-try. You can give the Japanese set dinner a try; don't set your expectations for the taste too high, but the ambiance is quite nice.
The room was very spacious and clean, and the front desk staff helped carry our luggage to the room. They were also very clear and helpful with any questions we had. Breakfast was just okay, not particularly delicious, but not bad either – pretty uninspired. The only downside was the hotel's somewhat remote location. No on site car park and have to use a nearby car park which is 600 yen per entry. The don’t clean the room daily but can change your towel if you want. We left our trash and dirty towel outside, they don’t replace with new trash bag or put new towels in bag n hang outside door. So hv to collect from reception personally
When I booked, it only showed the room, not that it was in an annex building. We ended up being placed in the building next door, which had much simpler facilities and was significantly smaller. I'm not sure what the reasoning was. To take a bath, I had to carry a basket out and go to the main building. The slippers provided were also very slippery. It was very inconvenient, especially in the cold...
The hotel room is a little small and bed is soft but overall still quite good for location and front desk service.
It's a bit of a walk from the station, and dragging luggage was a bit tough. A taxi costs around 850 yen. However, transportation in Miyazaki is quite inconvenient; you need to book a taxi in advance to get back to the station from the hotel, as it's hard to hail one from the street. Other than that, everything else was good, and breakfast was included.
Absolutely love the roof top pool and onsen at the next building. Love the view. Will stay again because of it. Near to station as well.
This hotel offers incredible value for money – it's so good, I almost want to keep it a secret!
However, I've seen a negative review claiming someone couldn't get back into the hotel at night, and I want to clarify that. That person's review is completely baseless. The only reason they couldn't get back in is because they forgot their room card. While staff at the annex building do leave at 11 PM...

This hotel has such a romantic, old-style charm. The bedroom was incredibly spacious—we even managed to have a family supper for 8 people comfortably inside! The onsen is also very nice and relaxing. A wonderful choice if you like a classic feel and plenty of room.
So nice, quiet, clean room and has a good service for the customers.
The food was good both in the evening and in the morning, but the bathroom, toilet and washbasin were all in one place and there was a step between the bathroom and the hallway, so there is room for improvement.
I don't like this hotel in Beppu. It's too old.
The neighborhood is quiet and suitable for a family of 4.
Washing machine is free, but you need to buy detergent (it's good to prepare detergent)
Rooms are spacious, but they are old.
Open-air bath has a nice view
Beppu Station shuttle is available for free, but the last stop is 5pm
I had a great time because of the clean interior and comfortable bathroom. The open-air bath was especially nice and it was a good place to stay. As for cleanliness, the foreign substances in the sink area were not cleaned well. Other than that, it was a really clean place to stay.

The stay was great. Our only complaint was that the AC unit in our room broke the 2nd night which made it hard to sleep.
We were arriving late and leaving early so we opted out of dinner and breakfast, although they look amazing in the photos. The room and bathroom are a bit outdated but the room is a good size. No frill hotel but meet all your needs. The important thing is that it is close to the bus station that takes you everywhere.
The location is super convenient, just 200 meters from Beppu Station. It's a standard compact Japanese hotel, nothing to complain about.
A business hotel that is just 4mins away from beppu station. Staffs are friendly. Breakfast is delicious. Room is very clean. Price is reasonable. Totally recommended.
A quiet business class hotel located just meters outside the JR Beppu station, within close walking distance of day use onsen, shopping, and dining. While it's true they are adjacent to the elevated rail, in practice this isn't really a problem for all but the most sensitive travellers because of frequency and limited use at night.
Very close to train station. They rent e-bikes for a good price. 1500 yen for 6 hours or a little more for the whole day. Was able to cycle to all the sights and tackle the hills easily.

Great location, nice cute onsen.
Might be slightly understaffed, so the check in counter helps although having to ring a staff to use that counter kinda negates some of that automatic-ness.
Good location being right across the bus and train station.

From Sansuikan, walk left for about eight minutes to Umijigoku 😊. Umijigoku isn't big, but it has a foot bath where you can soak your feet. An hour's worth of exploration is enough. The rooms are very clean and a must-see for a stay with two meals. Right next to the hotel are White Pond Hell and Sea Hell, a 15-minute walk away. Blood Pond Hell and Tornado Hell are also easily accessible via bus number 16, which takes 15 minutes.
The hotel is in a great location, just across from Kannawa Station from Fukuoka Airport. While the hotel is older, the rooms are clean and the service is excellent. The public hot springs are large and private, so you can enjoy them privately. You can even watch the sunrise from your room.
Since I had to stay one night in Beppu, I had no choice but to choose a place close to Kannawa Bus Terminal.
First of all, the cons that I remember are:
✅️A room that was tricked into saying it had an ocean view
✅️A unique smell
✅️Noise between floors and hallways
✅️No place to enjoy (at night) around
The good points are:
✅The large bath on the first floor (better than the 6th floor)
️✅️A clean open...

Nice view , clean room and good breakfast. Unfortunately, onsen is off during 9pm -3 pm
