There was a definite air of old seaside town about the place and it was very chill - the onsen in the hotel itself was very nice and wasn't at all busy when we were there

The room's window opens to an unobstructed view of the blue sky, and the hotel's hot spring is very comfortable. The space isn't large but it's cozy, very clean, and quiet.

The breakfast however did get quite crowded with tour groups so going down later worked the best for us - if you had to go in peak time there was often a queue

The room was compact but very comfortable and had all the things needed for a comfy stay. Staff were lovely and the japanese pj's provided we're a nice touch

Fantastic location for traveling around beppu as well as arriving from Fukuoka and leaving to Oita airport. The hotel is right next to both bus stops

Excellent value for money, convenient for transportation and shopping, and the hotel facilities and surroundings were all great. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Beppu

The outdoor onsen facility provides the beautiful ocean view. In the meanwhile, their SPA is nearly the best treatment which we have experienced. This hotel is highly recommended for the stay when you visit Beppu

This is our 2nd time to stay at this hotel. ANA intercontinental Beppu maintains its quality standard. The room is clean and comfortable with good view. The restaurants offer the delicious food

The infinity pool isn't very deep, making it suitable for children. It was still a bit chilly in March, but luckily, there's a warm pool nearby where you can soak for a while. The restaurant offers great value for money

The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, very clean, and offer sea views

Remember to exit from the West Exit (this was told to us by the hotel shuttle driver; apparently, many international guests wait for a long time at the East Exit only to find out it's the West Exit)

Dinner was superb; we had Japanese cuisine in an elegant setting. The Japanese chef was very professional, and the dishes were outstanding. Breakfast was semi-buffet style and also delicious

I'm a smoker so it was good because there are only non-smoking rooms available these days. The breakfast was also delicious and I ate too much. The hotel staff were always smiling and helpful so I was very satisfied

I made a reservation from Rakuten Travel. I made a mistake in the schedule due to this mistake, but I noticed it early so there was no cancellation fee and the response to inquiries was polite

The biggest miscalculation was dinner, and I heard that it comes with a seafood bowl, but within the price of about 8,000 yen (including Rakuten coupon), I was prepared for a seafood bowl alone, but I usually set meals such as toriten and chawanmushi

I stayed here because I had to go to the ferry terminal early in the morning. It was very convenient, with Toyoken (a famous chicken tempura restaurant) nearby and a supermarket within walking distance

The bath is indoors, but it was very clean and nice. I was able to watch YouTube on the TV in the room

The breakfast selection was quite good. The only downside was that the hotel parking lot was across the street. It just so happened that it was raining heavily the day I arrived

Cons - hotel is situated about 7km from the main sightseeing area of Beppu (Kannawa). If you don’t have a car, taxi is about Y3000 each way. If you do have a car, parking around Beppu is not too hard

I liked infinity bath on the 7th floor, but due to the strong wind I could enjoy it for long time. However sunset and full moon were do beautiful and bath was comfortably hot

Very good selection for breakfast and dinner, convenient onsens, amenities of good quality and wide selection of shampoos, face cleansers, creams, etc

There are table tennis, billiard, massage chairs and gaming machines in the basement, omiyage shop. I liked choose of sizes and colors of yukatas too

The ryokan style room is very spacious with beautiful sea view. We loved the indoor & outdoor onsen. Good spread at the buffet dinner and breakfast. A very relaxing stay! There is also a DONKI nearby the hotel.

The breakfast and dinner were good, not 5*, but certainly you can find some nice food to fill you up

We book the seaview corner room(611) with seperate ryokan living room. Onsen are great, bf and dinner are above average. 800meter walk from Beppu Station. Recommended.

Soaking in the tub in the room, while looking out at the sea, was incredibly comfortable and truly therapeutic

The room's balcony offered a beautiful full sea view, and the room itself was very spacious

However, breakfast was served in a separate building, which was a bit inconvenient, and the food selection was limited and unappetizing

We changed room type when we got to the hotel (from Seaside Maisonette to one of the Tower apartments) and this was seamlessly offered to us by the night staff

The staff are very friendly & helpful. The room is spacious & comfortable though a bit old. The sea view is excellent

I booked the full board package. Room has ample space and a wonderful view to the sea! Dinner set was delicious. A very relaxed environment, nice getaway vacation stay.

Overall, the standard is incredibly high! It's perfect for a relaxing getaway. The public bath facing the sea 🌊 is an absolute must-try

The service was incredibly attentive. Since it's in a new building, the facilities are also brand new. The view is unbeatable, and I'll definitely stay here again

You can give the Japanese set dinner a try; don't set your expectations for the taste too high, but the ambiance is quite nice

This hotel has such a romantic, old-style charm. The bedroom was incredibly spacious—we even managed to have a family supper for 8 people comfortably inside! The onsen is also very nice and relaxing

I had a great time because of the clean interior and comfortable bathroom. The open-air bath was especially nice and it was a good place to stay

As for cleanliness, the foreign substances in the sink area were not cleaned well. Other than that, it was a really clean place to stay

The food was good both in the evening and in the morning, but the bathroom, toilet and washbasin were all in one place and there was a step between the bathroom and the hallway, so there is room for improvement.

The room condition, kaiseki, and breakfast were all comfortable and enjoyable!! The shuttle bus seems to be assigned once an hour and I think you need to make a reservation in advance! I think it would be better if there were a little more Korean guidance!

My friends and I are very satisfied with this hotel. We were a little worried at first because the room facilities still maintain the old style (key-operated doors, traditional old-style tatami mats and paper doors)

The hotel's lobby and public spaces have all been transformed into a modern style, and not only free drinks are provided (there are even draft beers for you to drink). I personally like and recommend this hotel

If you head towards the Suginoi Hotel, it's easy to understand and you'll find it on the top of the mountain just past. It's very clean and you can eat in the room, so it's recommended this time of year

Great location, nice cute onsen. Might be slightly understaffed, so the check in counter helps although having to ring a staff to use that counter kinda negates some of that automatic-ness.

All front desk staff I spoke to spoke English! Check out was done easily by giving the card back to front desk and confirming room number and number of people. Didn’t state a preference so i got a smoking room

This hotel is conveniently situated opposite the Beppu Station. Free parking is provided beside the hotel. We booked semi-double bed room and was give a spacious triple room. Thanks!

When i entered there was a lingering smoke smell but it was a quick fix with the air purifier available. Amenities are available by the 2 floor elevator where the reception is

Good location being right across the bus and train station. The staff are nice and accommodating. Went there earlier than check in time but I was able to leave my luggage

Breakfast is 6:30to 9:30 just present card key to restaurant staff. Overall, would book again for the next Beppu stay. I might even get to try the onsen next time

Right across the first road from the hotel entrance, there's a large shopping mall with a supermarket, Muji, Starbucks, and everything you could need. However, most seaside hotels tend to be older

This traditional Japanese onsen hotel is conveniently located by the sea, about a 12-minute walk from Beppu Station, with a bus stop ('Beppu Tower Stop') right nearby

About a 15-minute walk east from JR Beppu Station. It's right by the seawall, so you can enjoy the ocean view, blue skies, and white clouds. The Japanese breakfast was excellent

This one has been renovated and feels quite new. You have to lay out your own futon on the tatami mat (mine was a mess!), so for elderly guests with mobility issues, I'd recommend a standard bed

The rooms are very clean and a must-see for a stay with two meals. Right next to the hotel are White Pond Hell and Sea Hell, a 15-minute walk away

The outdoor bath on the 1st floor had a landscaped area, was even larger, and there was also a dry steam room. The breakfast and dinner were incredibly filling, and I couldn't finish them all

Sansuikan is an older hotel, but it's well-maintained. After a night's rest, I took the direct bus from Beppu to Fukuoka Station the next day 🚌 (remember to buy your ticket the day before, as it's very crowded)

Go to Beppu Station's west exit, on the left, at Station 3. Take Line 1 bus 🚌 to the last stop, Kannawa. It's a two-minute walk to Sansuikan. From Sansuikan, walk left for about eight minutes to Umijigoku 😊

There are Chinese staff, and when we visited, there were also several Chinese female university interns. However, most of the staff didn't speak English, so I needed mobile phone translation and gestures

Umijigoku isn't big, but it has a foot bath where you can soak your feet. An hour's worth of exploration is enough. Beppu is a rural area, so don't expect great restaurants

The hotel room was very spacious with a great location and sea views. There were many dining options nearby, and the service was excellent. The bathhouse was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious

Breakfast buffet was excellent with good amount of variation and it's warmly flavored. The sea view from breakfast venue was beautiful

Although a bit old, it is very clean and well-maintained, with all the necessary facilities. The onsen was fantastic—great temperature, nice room, and very convenient to enjoy

The REX hotel is beautifully located along the Beppu coastline, which made the stay even more enjoyable

Overall, I was very satisfied with the hotel facilities. I believe that when guests face unexpected difficulties, a little extra kindness and support from staff can greatly enhance their overall impression of the hotel

However, if I may offer one piece of feedback regarding customer service: during our stay, the battery of our rental car was discharged

I booked the one-night, two-meal plan, and the food was incredibly generous – I even had a lot of beef leftover from dinner the second night, which was a shame! The staff were all very friendly, and the sea view was absolutely stunning

This resort is amazing! From the unique architecture to their services are absolutely fantastic. We stayed on the 4th floor which was looking onto the beautiful townscape and coastline of Beppu

Such a cool space and a fantastic view of Beppu and the sea. So relaxing to watch the view change as the sun sets. Great sunrise from the balcony too if you wake up early. Our room was huge and very well appointed

If you can get up early, I definitely want to see the sunrise! It was an inn that I would like to visit in a different season

With real hotspring introduced to the bathtub in private room, it felt very special. We had some of the most amazing meals in Kyushu there during our 2 night stays. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional

The signs are also wonderful ❤️ Unfortunately, the bar doesn't have a view from the counter. There are seats in a good location, so if you go early, you can get a seat

There weren't many people here, but there were 3 private baths and a large bath, so I used it 5 times. It's really the best for this price. Dinner is dinner, but let's finish breakfast

I like everything but the food. The food is great quality and the sashimi is thick! But is frozen! Is so icy cold. And the pork steak has a porky smell. The starter is nice though.

The breakfast is so good, very high value. They change the main dish every day. A huge variety of food to eat. They close the hotel door at midnight, so the first night, i had to call them to let me in

I Strongly Recommend Improvement, But the Food Is Wonderful I recently stayed at Beppu Fuuga, and while there were some very disappointing aspects regarding the service and facilities, there were also some great points

Away from the hustle and bustle, the food is of average quality, with a particularly good breakfast. The service is good, and you can use the private bath for free. There aren't many rooms.

I was solo traveling and don’t speak Japanese, but the staff was amazing and made everything easy for me! The dinner and breakfast were very good too and I enjoyed the private bath as well

Reservations weren't possible, but you could simply tell the front desk if you wanted to go and it would be available anytime. The large public bath was also great, with an open-air onsen

I'll definitely come back 🥹 The morning bath is completely empty, a private bath experience. The hotel can arrange pick-up and drop-off at Beppu Station, which is very convenient
