Palace Hotel KAKEGAWA in Kakegawa

Within 5－minute walk from JR Kakegawa station, I found this hotel fully satisfied my needs. Though the appearance is not very fascinating (to be honest, I was not confident if the entrance was really a hotel entrance or not), the room was cozy, clean, quiet and I could have a good night sleep. A hotel staff was warm and welcoming. They serve a breakfast for guests, which was not so fascinating but good enough to start a day. And the room rate was reasonably cheap. If you travel with your family and want to make your stay special, I am afraid this hotel is not what you want. But if you are in business trip and what you want is a relaxing night and a reasonably nourishing breakfast, I am sure this hotel can be your candidate.

Room: Not spacious, but adequate.
Clean.
Smoking room available (no noticeable odor).

Bathroom: Spacious, clean, and very good.
Automatically adjusts the water temperature.

Amenities: Almost none.
Toothbrushes and razors are available from the reception desk.
Shampoos and other amenities are available.

Elevator: One.

Breakfast: A buffet, but the selection is limited.
Personally, I was satisfied with meatballs, sausages, and scrambled eggs.

Parking: Limited, but there are many coin parking lots nearby.

Other: You return your card key in a box in the morning, so be sure to get a receipt.
The receptionist was a foreigner, but she was polite.

The room is clean and tidy, close to Kakegawa JR station and Shinkansen station! The breakfast is rich and worth staying.

Just beside station, 3 minutes walking distance. Bus station, taxi stoppage is also nearby. really quiet surroundings at night. Izakaya and restaurants in 3 minutes walking distance. Convinient store Lawson nearby. Only problem is, no free parking. The nearest parking assigned for hotel use is also little far, 5 minutes walking. Other that that, coin parking and other is available nearby. Recommended for people looking for a convinient place near kakegawa station. The morning buffet breakfast is really good.

The man at the front desk (with a Chinese accent?) was smiling the whole time and very helpful. Thank you. The room was not on a high floor, so I couldn't open the paper door because it would be visible from the neighborhood, but it was a room that felt like an old-fashioned hotel.

No on-site parking. Need to park car in nearby parking lot.
