The main thing about this place is its rooms, specifically traditionally made Japanese rooms (ryokans) The rooms are nice. They are equipped with what you would expect from a normal hotel. Kimonos are in the room too. I would give "rooms" a 4.5.

The service of this place is friendly, speaks decent English and is always happy to help you. Just note that the only staff member here is the owner, but that shouldn't be a problem. One thing that surprised me is that the owner has invested a lot in the technology here. The toilet is very high-tech, automated lights, automated sinks and automated trash can. Overall, I would give "service" a 4.7.

The location of this place is very great. If you want to visit the main places of Kanazawa by a bus, it's possible and easy. It just may take a while to visit these places by walking, but many museums + the garden is located very near. Overall, I would give "location" a 4.7.

We have gone through all of the criteria now. If I could, I would give this place a 4.6. But I can't, so I'm gonna have to go with 5 stars.

My opinion is: rooms could be a little different, maybe more cameras installed rather than just the front door.

We had to cancel the reservation due to an inconvenience and the owner was very kind and resolute, he helped us with everything. It's a shame because we liked the room and the staff was very kind. Thank you for everything.

Shared bathroom and shower. The room is not too big. The price increases a lot during holidays. The Japanese experience is quite unique. Convenient to eat around. There are many shops. The service is very friendly. There is room service.

A wonderful Ryokan, 5 to 10 minutes from the main road and all the local attractions (Kenroku-en garden, kanazawa castle and ruins, 21st modern art gallery)

The host and his family are all great, they don't speak much English but they try their best and I'm sure if you try to speak a little Japanese yourself they'll understand immediately, can't fault them at all, highly recommend staying here and I will definitely again in the future! ^-^

The most incredibly convenient location for sightseeing in Kanazawa! This ryokan is right in the centre of town and only a few minutes walk from Kenrokuen. The owners are wonderful people who will go out of their way to provide helpful info, food and sightseeing suggestions, and to ensure you're comfortable during your stay. It's also very affordable if you're travelling on a budget. We will definitely be back for another stay!

This is a lovely little family-run ryokan just off the main street and the location is fantastic, it's close to everything. You can stay room only, or choose traditional meal packages too such asbrekkie only, or full board. The owners were so charming and helpful. Foreigners are very welcome and they will go out of their way to ensure you have a lovely time. Once Covid19 is over, we're going back for another visit and will definitely stay longer than 3 nights next time.

Home smiling, the place is well located. But ... the room was dirty (I found a lens on the floor) so not cleaned. The ceiling of the bathroom was moldy, provided with razors already used, glasses already used ...

Good for a real Japanese traditional experience. Communication is not easy if you don't speak Japanese, but attendants do their best to help you. And Kanazawa is a wonderful city to stay for some spring days and enjoy hanami.

Great location! Very attentive and helpful hosts. This is the best side of karuizawa for a budget friendly price.
