The rooms are Japanese-style, and the bathtub is nice. Dinner is good, though served slowly, and has a Michelin-star quality. Breakfast is average. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to Kaga Station (advance reservations are required). If you're visiting Kanazawa, it's worth a trip.

Six stars service!

Huazi is about a 25-minute drive from Kaga Onsen Station. The hotel will send an email to inquire about the arrival time and provide free pick-up. My last hotel was Jixiangting, which is a 5-minute walk away. I wandered around Yamanaka Onsen from the time I checked out at 11am to the time I checked in at 2pm. April 6th was the season when cherry blossoms and camellias were in full bloom, so there were very few tourists. Residents and children greeted me warmly when they saw me. This place is not as busy as Yamashiro Onsen, and there is not much business. There is a wood and lacquerware exhibition hall where you can visit and shop, and the prices are reasonable. Hua Zi has a minimalist style and the amenities are also minimalist. There is nothing simpler than it at this price. Two bottles of water, a bag of tea and a bag of coffee, only a small sample of treatment, and a welcome tea when checking in, this is all you can get for free. No 24 hour tea and coffee at Kissing Pavilion, no happy hour, no muffins, puddings, no morning snacks (not bad quality, not shoddy), no geisha shows, none of that. Different styles are understandable. There were staff members waiting for guests at the service door. When the shuttle bus left, four staff members bowed and waved for at least two minutes. When I checked in, the staff brought out an iPad to show the Japanese and Western-style rooms with baths, which could be upgraded for a fee. I booked a basic Japanese-style room. I have stayed in more than a hundred hotels in Japan, and only three of them recommended paid room upgrades during check-in: Kyoto Okura Bettei, Hyatt Regency Okinawa, and this one. The first two said that upgrading would provide better service, and asked if I needed it. This hotel asked directly, I didn’t upgrade. First, I wanted to stay and I booked it directly. Second, if I wanted to upgrade, I would ask you. The Japanese-Western style is indeed very high-end, as you don’t have to sleep on the floor. Later I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade, which would cost nearly a thousand dollars more. The staff member took the timetable of Kaga Onsen Station and asked about the drop-off time. I said please call a taxi for me to the next hotel, the time is tomorrow at 11 o'clock and the name of the next hotel. The hotel understood what I said, and she got stuck. She called someone who seemed to be making tea and asked me in a stiff manner where I was from. Then the translator asked me if I took an Uber myself? I don't understand why I say "by myself" when I type it myself. I arrived on time at 6 o'clock for the dinner appointment. The rhythm was not good, and I had to wait for two to be served at the same time. The dishes were seasoned with high-level flavors but a little simple. I ordered a Western breakfast, which was very delicious, first-class standard, and the service was even more enthusiastic. All facilities have been renovated and are very neat and clean, but the air conditioning is loud and ineffective. Japanese style windows for light transmission, wear eye mask and ear plugs to sleep. Those who like Shinichiro Ogata's style can move in. The aesthetics are very high-end.

Luxury and indulgence
What an amazing place. Beautiful, with the most attention to detail in every way. Giving it ten stars doesn’t do it justice.

It's OK in every aspect, but the food is not the best, just average. And my contract specifications are very high, but on the first floor, the air is not cool

Beautiful onsen and elegant meals.
Beautiful onsen outside. Beautiful meals with gorgeous dishes and incredible personal service. Rooms were very comfortable and lovely. Some of the food was a bit odd for western tourists but there was more than enough to enjoy. We loved a day trip to Natadera. One of the most memorable temples we visited in Japan and the least crowded. Walk along the gorge also was nice. The town appeared interesting but was mostly closed on Tuesday when we were there.

I would rate this travel experience a 10 plus. This 5 generation family run Ryokan achieves excellence at every turn. From the moment I checked in till the moment I left, I was awed by the attention to detail, the comfort, the unique design, and the warm hospitality. Stylishly built from the ground up, along the Yamanaka River George, it is expertly run by the Amada family. The newest generation of owners Manami & Kohei, a husband and wife team, are consumate hoteliers well beyond their years.. Along with Kohei's mama san, they have brought every special unique aspect to my two night classic Japanese stay. The breakfast and dinner service meals were carefully thought out, beautifully presented and delicious. I can't speak highly enough of this experience. I arrived from a hectic 5 day business trip in Korea, and left in a culturally relaxed state of bliss. Thank you to Manami and Kohei for curating every aspect. I will truly cherish the memories. I only hope that I can return with my wife next time. Book now - don't even hesitate this adventure.
