Sun City Hotel Yamashiro in Yamanaka

I was super lucky to snag a last minute single room here - the Kagaonsen cities are PRICEY but I got a room for about $75 for a night. It was super easy to take the bus down to Yamanaka and back up to the Shinkansen. The room was clean and quiet and very cute - also free breakfast and bike rental! One note though: No AC and the fan blew heat, so wouldn't recommend in the summer.

The facility is a bit dated, but very clean and comfortable. I felt it was great value for the price. They offer free bike rentals, laundry, manga & DVDs, and even a massage chair. Breakfast is included too, which was a nice bonus. I would definitely stay here again!

Perhaps because it was a weekend during the autumn foliage season, only one twin room was available, so I inquired with the hotel and they gladly accommodated with an extra bed.
The room wasn't too cramped, even with the extra bed, and I was able to stay comfortably.
The sheets were sparkling new, and the bed was also very comfortable.
I took a shower in my room that night and borrowed a hotel bicycle early the next morning to go to Kosoyu.
I'm grateful that a simple breakfast is included and you can stay at this hotel for such a low price these days. 😊
Although it's a little outside the center of Yamashiro Onsen, I'd definitely like to stay here again.

This hotel is a great value, offering parking and a simple breakfast. There's a convenience store nearby, and two restaurants behind the hotel. If the weather is nice, you could rent a bicycle from the hotel and take a trip to Oyu. The elevator is small, so it might be difficult to get on at certain times. The rooms are perfectly adequate if you're just looking for a place to sleep. They have the bare minimum amenities like a refrigerator, air conditioning, TV, and Wi-Fi. The bathroom amenities were by Pola. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.
