Pension Arumeria in Wakkanai

We didn't have a booking. We just drove by and asked if there were any vacancies. It was already pretty late. Luckily they did and 5 of us stayed here. We were 3 adults and 2 toddlers. Youngest was 10 months old.

It's hard to stay at local guesthouse since websites are all in Japanese and you can't make phone calls. It's like that in small towns in Japan.

The Onsen was nice. It was clean and we have privacy. My 3 year old son basically had the place to ourselves. Rooms are small and luckily we have an air mattress. We didn't eat here. Nice view and extremely quiet. This place is a nice place to stay if you're in the area. However, I really didn't like the fact that they charged me for my 10 month of child. Perhaps it was a communication issue. I paid it simply because we can't communicate.

Next time I come to Hokkaido, I'm renting a camper van!

You can stay with ocean view , open the window no need air con , only one hotel on the beach , owner is kind

Very nice and cozy stay near Japan's northmost. Meals are delicious. Will definitely come again some time during summer in the future.
The location is distant to nearby city, so you'll probably need a rental car.

The hotel is decorated like home, very comfortable. The staff is like mother, cooking big meals in the kitchen. If you need anything, just ring the bell at the counter and they will come out to deal with it. They can't speak languages ​​other than Japanese, but there is a translator, so basic communication is no problem. 1 night 2 meals, all of which are some Japanese home-cooked dishes. We booked a terrace sea view room, which was originally available to watch the sunset, but it happened to rain that day, so we missed it. The sound of the waves was very loud at night, but we saw the sunrise in the morning. It takes about 10 minutes to drive to Cape Soya. The overall feeling is very good.

The owner and staff were incredibly kind. Thank you for the delicious おにぎり and for all your help. I will definitely visit again with my family.
The walls were a bit thin, so you could sometimes hear voices from other rooms. The location is great for relaxing, but if you plan to visit many places, I recommend renting a car, as the public bus schedule is limited.
