Excellent place to stay at during the winter. Location was amazing, located right on the ski slope allowing my son to ski in and out of the hotel. Finally checked off my must-stay hotel! Getting to the hotel from Sapporo was easier than I expected. Zaborin offers a pick-up service from Kuch'an Station. The autumn scenery along the way was breathtaking. This adjective also describes the Michelin-starred dining experience; I personally preferred the breakfast, which was exceptionally refined.

Zaborin has entered into the ranks of one of my favourite ryokans in Japan. A fantastic hotel, especially beautiful view , the free ramen at 10 pm and the amazing breakfast buffet. The only problem is the small rooms, but that's typical of Japanese hotels.

Excellent location in Hakodate, all walking distances from major attractions - red brick share houses, the churches and government houses, morning market etc. Breakfast spread was excellent and the sashimi seafood for chirashi bowls are fresh and delicious. My only complaint is that reception staff can learn to speak some English especially when the hotel is full of tourists from various countries...

The hotel is not far from the station, about an 8-9 minute walk, and they offer a shuttle service to the station. The breakfast was incredibly lavish, with everything you could possibly want. From various vantage points, including the restaurant and hot springs, you can see Mount Hakodate.

The room was spacious, which was great for traveling with kids. There's a supermarket on the first floor, and plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. It's an ideal location, very convenient for getting to Mount Hakodate and the train station. There were always taxis waiting right outside the door.

We reached an hour earlier but they don’t allow early check in… the rooms are slightly smaller, no mineral water given in the room and have to refill at the public area at every floor. The location is really convenient, with a convenience store right across from the hotel, which makes shopping easy. Even though the decor is a bit old-fashioned, the room was spacious, and so was the bathroom – both very clean. This hotel is a must-stay when visiting Hokkaido! It's well-equipped with a fantastic public bath, and after a soak, you can enjoy free ice cream or a variety of complimentary drinks downstairs. When I checked in, I received Chateraise Baumkuchen. The hospitality felt truly luxurious, like a proper hotel experience. The spa was spacious, and the open-air bath in the snow was absolutely amazing. The breakfast buffet had a great variety, and the desserts and ice cream were the same delicious Chateraise products you'd buy in their stores – I ate so much! I had to go to a conference, but I wanted to make some fun memories for my kids, so I stayed here with them, as it has a pool. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Two of the water slides were closed, so it seems they're only open every day on weekends this month. Even without them, we were able to play in the pool until 9:00 PM and then relax in the hot springs.

The buffet had a variety of options and was delicious. I was able to eat a lot of crab, which was great. There was a TV in the bathroom in the room. The pool and hot springs were great. If you're afraid of heights, the elevator might be scary... I'll post a photo, even though it's not very photogenic.

This hotel is centrally located in Sapporo, very close to Odori Park, Shiroi Koibito Park, and Sapporo TV Tower, all within walking distance. The room was clean, tidy, and well-maintained, with complete amenities and a spacious bathroom. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating, and some even spoke Chinese, which was a thoughtful touch.

The room was quite spacious for Japan, and the breakfast was excellent with a good variety of Chinese and Western options. Enjoying breakfast while watching the snow outside was a wonderful experience. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Hotel Kunugigaoka Otaru is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city, right by the sea. It's conveniently located, perfect for a snowy stroll. I enjoyed delicious 'chame' barbecue, visited the Music Box Antique Museum, and the Japanese Ukiyo-e Art Museum, among other places.
