Loved my stay here. The area is lovely, just a few minutes to the forest and temples. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. Everything was perfect.

This hostel is conveniently located near Kyoto University. The hosts were kind and it was a comfortable place to live.
There are no washing machines, but there are several within a 15-minute walk, so that was fine.
It's also close to the Philosopher's Path, so I took a short walk there every morning before going to work!

I didn't stay because of schedule changes. But since there is no refund plan, even if it was confirmed two weeks ago that I couldn't stay, the room would have to be left empty. I knew this before I made the reservation, so I accepted it. I just really think it's a pity for me, potential guests, and the landlord. If there is a partial refund plan based on the decreasing time, it may be the best.

Very nice, quiet and well located, the host is super accommodating and friendly. I stayed in a single room and it was so calm and quiet I rested super well. I came in the winter, which is pretty cold in Kyoto, and the room and the whole place was nice and warm. There’s a kitchen with a fridge a microwave and kettle and a table to eat. It has a nice bathroom with a japanese style bathtub and two other rest rooms. I will definitely come back next time I’m visiting, totally recommend :)

This is a very nice and clean accommodation! I stayed just one person for 3 nights. Owner is friendly, helpful, and kind! Close to major bus routes. Shower and bathroom were clean and easily accessible. Great guest house, i enjoyed my stay!

What a wonderful stay! These accommodations were perfect for my time in Kyoto. A quiet, relaxing neighbourhood near some breathtaking shrines. Very close to major bus routes. The owner is so friendly and kind, the room was clean and comfortable. I am grateful for my experience here!

This was my second stay in one year and I chose it because of its proximity to The Philosophers Walk as well as being located in a residential community, though quite close to a major temple as well as quieter and lovely ones. There are only 4 rooms; this is a typical lodging house - shared bath and kitchen. Proprietor Nakamoto is very helpful !!!

Room was dusty, bed covers were not clean and the air wasn’t fresh inside rooms. Our jacket got stained white somehow inside the wardrobe.
We had a friend coming over the second day wanting to pay to add a bed, and instead of saying no politely, the owner got super furious and yelled at one of us and said that this is Japan’s rule, whereas during our other stay it was absolutely acceptable.
This resulted in some of us leaving to stay at a proper hotel and got no refund.
Not recommended to foreigners.

Overall, this property was nice. It's a more authentic Japanese experience, not much amenities in the room. You sleep on the floor on futons.
