HOTEL TAVINOS Kyoto in Kyoto

This hotel offers incredible value for money! I saw some reviews mentioning no windows, but I found that if you pull back the curtain behind the bed, there's a window that allows for ventilation! The location is excellent, with a bus stop right downstairs and the subway not far. It's very close to Sanjusangen-do Temple and convenient for visiting Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine! The hotel is also connected to a 7-Eleven, making it super easy to grab anything you need. In the common areas, there's hot water and a microwave available, and a simple breakfast is provided in the mornings. There were a lot of foreign guests, and the front desk staff spoke good English, giving it a vibe similar to the youth hostels I've stayed at in Europe. I went on a weekday and paid less than 200 for a single room. I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised – the decor and details are adorable! Highly recommend! I'd definitely come back if I have the chance!

Fun hotel, design was awesome, exactly what you’re looking for in Japan. Bed was comfy & bathroom excellent

Location of the hotel was a short walk over the bridge to the underground Station.
Supermarket and bike hire over the road.
The room were dark due black walls.
Your beds were two mattress put down on a large piece of wood and bed sheets would come loose and mattress can move.
The storage under the bed was great tho
The staff were very helpful and greeted you everytime you enter level 3 area.

The location is ideally good, 10mins walking distance to Shijo (the famous shoppingstreet all the way down to Yasaka Shrine).

The hotel interior design looks dull and black, walls are painted/covered w/ black wallpaper. If you are quite not comfortable with dull environment, better select the other hotel. I am moderate with the environment as I switched side of the bed during my 2nd night, as I dint have a good sleep on my first night where the bed facing to the door directly. Slept quite well for the rest of the 2 nights later.

Hotel provided free mini bun for breakfast until 10:30am.
Amenities r provided, very convenient and handful. It is a Self-check in system in TAVINOS, and there are 2 kiosks available for you to do so. Please note that, there is a tax surcharge during check-in.

There are 2-3 bus stops right in front of the hotel. One of my to go is city bus 80/205. Convenient & efficient bus schedule.

Would come back again if there's another time travelling in Kyoto again (cause is budget friendly)

Good hôtel and nice place. The room are very original and convenient (space for luggages, big bed and shower).

The location was great as it has access to trains and busses nearby to use. Very close to shopping areas as well.

The hotel is very close to attractions like Nishiki Market and Gion. There's a 7-Eleven right downstairs, so you can easily grab food if you're hungry. The hotel lobby also offers complimentary tea and coffee, giving you plenty of options.

This is my third consecutive stay here, and I still think it's great! Every morning there are free pastries and tea available. Just a short walk from the hotel's back street, there are several supermarkets with a wide variety of goods. The service is self-service, making it a very economical and practical option.

This is a very good hotel: stylish, spacious, everything is new and very clean. The location is simply perfect, especially for runners like me — right by the Kamagawa riverside. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The only thing to note: the internet in the rooms can be unstable at times. Please fix it. Otherwise, everything is excellent. Highly recommended!

Very clean and comfortable. Appreciated the coin laundry and complementary coffee and tea. Great location as well.
