Auberge Meson in Otsu

We stayed at the hotel as a family of three to celebrate my parents' birthday. After a leisurely stroll around the area, we borrowed CDs and books from the library and enjoyed reading while listening to jazz in our room. We also enjoyed a relaxed dinner and breakfast in our room. We were able to spend a truly relaxing and luxurious time during our stay, and my parents were very happy. This time we chose a plan that included a birthday cake, and the staff all helped make it a wonderful celebration. Thank you so much. As soon as we got home, my parents were already asking, "When should we go again?" (laughs)
We would definitely like to visit again as a family in a different season.

I'm usually busy with work, so when I travel I want to relax and eat delicious food. When I actually stayed here, I was able to relax and enjoy the stars from the balcony at night.
The food in particular was delicious, and I could tell that everything was carefully prepared.
I'd like to visit again.

I visited again after three years.
I enjoyed a leisurely meal in my room at Hira Bettei.
It used to be French cuisine, but it has changed to Italian, and this was my first time trying it. The food and wine were delicious.
I was surprised that breakfast at Maison was Japanese.
It was very tasty!!

I took a morning walk around the villas and spoke to 3-4 residents. They were all newcomers and very friendly and warm people.
After returning, I spent some time searching for villa properties in the Maison area.

Also, the next villa to open is a lovely one with triangular windows.
The previous owner's wife showed me around during renovations. I was very excited and looking forward to it.

We stayed in the main building, Hanare, for two nights with our family of three and two small dogs. The room was clean and comfortable, and both us and our dogs were very relaxed. We usually use beds, but the futons were also very comfortable. This was my first time experiencing the Auberge Maison style. The food was even better than I expected, and it was a truly blissful experience. The tableware was also beautiful, enhancing the delicious food. The staff told me about some wonderful tableware at a nearby general store, but I regret not being able to stop by due to timing. The staff were very kind and welcoming. I could really feel their love for this place from their attention to detail in the ingredients, the cleanliness of the room, and their friendly service.
We had to bring our own litter boxes and dishes for the dogs, but it wasn't a burden. I found it more relaxing here, as I didn't have to worry about what was in the hotel and what wasn't. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Shiga Prefecture again. We had a very pleasant three days. Thank you to all the staff. Thank you for the delicious meal!
