Toyoko Inn Nagasaki Ekimae in Nagasaki

Toyoko Inn always my first choice of admocation.

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of March.

The main plus is the location: the hotel is literally right next to Nagasaki Station, which is convenient for transfers and generally as a base for exploring the city. There's a tram nearby, shops, everything is very compact.

We were given a room on the 7th floor in the new building, typical for the Toyoko Inn chain: small, but clean and functional. It has everything you need, without anything extra – a good option if you plan to do a lot of walking and just come back to rest. This isn't the first time we've encountered the fact that, among all hotels, the soundproofing is probably one of the worst; you can hear the road even on the 7th floor, but it's generally bearable.

The breakfast is simple, Japanese style: rice, soup, basic side dishes. Not a huge selection, but enough to start the day without having to search for a cafe.

The staff were friendly, but their English wasn't very good (luckily, we had no problems with a translator), and they helped us send our suitcases to another city.

Overall, this isn't about atmosphere or design, but about convenience and predictability. It's a good value-for-money option if location and basic comfort are important to you.

My first time trying Toyoko Inn, I thought I'd see it right outside Nagasaki Station, but it was actually a seven or eight-minute walk. The service is very standardized; check-in and check-out are done via machines, but there are staff members on hand to assist. Breakfast is very simple, but the room itself is pretty good, with a sufficiently large desk. The room has minimal decor, simple and neat, almost like a workspace with a bed. It's very suitable for business travelers on a work trip.

The breakfast buffet, while not as extensive in variety or quantity as in more expensive hotels, was actually a plus. I didn't overeat or get overwhelmed by choices, and it was perfectly satisfying.

It was also great to have free lockers in the lobby that I could use after checking out.

My friend booked the wrong hotel dates during our Nagasaki trip, so I ended up spontaneously searching for a place and came across this one. The location isn't bad, within a 10-minute walk from Nagasaki Station. It was super clean, feeling like a newly added annex. You can self-check-in and check-out, and with Korean language support, it was very easy to use. Various amenities are available on the first floor, and you can take as many as you need. The room size was neither too small nor too large, a twin bed perfect for two people. I went for breakfast after waking up, and it was incredibly crowded. I guess it was the year-end holiday season in Japan, so most guests were locals. I went for breakfast at 8 AM, and some dishes ran out while I was eating ㅠㅠ. I recommend going for breakfast around 7 AM. There are even disposable takeout containers, so some people were packing food to go. If your schedule is tight, taking it to go seems like a good option. It's a shame there's no public bath, but it was a great stay with good value for money.

I like the hotel, near bus stop and tram station. The free breakfast buffet is so good too. The price is cheap and is walking distance from nagasaki station if you do not want to take public transport.

Pretty affordable with breakfast! 15min walk with luggage from Nagasaki station.
