Hotel Route Inn Yatsushiro in Yatsushiro

This is a high-quality business hotel in the Yatsushiro area. The rooms are simple yet well-equipped, and disposable toiletries are available in the lobby for guests to use as needed. The large public bath is a fantastic feature, making it ideal for business travelers. The price is also very reasonable. If you choose the eco plan, you can get a complimentary vending machine drink or alcoholic beverage each night, truly embodying environmental protection.

The reception staff were very helpful. There was only one washing machine in the women's bath, so we had to wait quite a while for our turn to do our laundry. However, it was helpful to have a washing machine.

I stayed for two nights, but I only received one breakfast voucher at check-in, so I had to ask for one at the front desk.
My sister came from Tokyo and stayed for three nights, but she also only received two at check-in, so she had to ask for one.
Everything else was good.

The environment is quiet, and although the hotel is a bit old, the facilities are well-preserved.

The large public bath is great for soaking in, perfect for relaxing after sightseeing.

The location is in the city center, a bit far from the JR station, but there are city buses. If you take a taxi to Shin-Yatsushiro Station to transfer to the Shinkansen to Kumamoto, the taxi ride takes about 15 minutes. The hotel reception can help you book a taxi or arrange a taxi by phone. There is also an airport bus stop at the hotel for Kumamoto-Aso (my original plan).

There are restaurants nearby, but I didn't eat there, so I can't comment on them.

However, the city's morning hours are very early; around 9 pm, the streets are quite quiet. The streetlights are spaced a bit far apart, so be careful with your phone battery.

Breakfast is included, with both Japanese and Western options. The yam tsuna and fried fish nuggets were delicious.

The front desk service was excellent! Very friendly! They were very helpful in resolving issues! Ms. Shimada at the front desk speaks excellent and fluent English, which greatly simplifies the process of resolving my problems.

Due to weather conditions, I was notified at 10 PM that my flight the following day was canceled. After a friend helped me arrange a rebooking to Fukuoka, I needed to immediately confirm my transportation route for the next day. Therefore, I went to the front desk to inquire. Ms. Shimada, fluent in English, quickly understood my question and needs, provided a JR timetable, checked the required fees, helped me book a taxi for the next day, and ensured a smooth handover to the next available taxi.

I am also very grateful to the front desk staff the following day (a gentleman) for helping to contact the taxi in advance and communicating with the driver about the destination and the need for a receipt.

Checked into a twin room on December 18, 2024. The room was really spacious and comfortable!

The large public bath is on the first floor. The slippers are open-style, so be careful not to bring your own and have them mistakenly worn! 😝 Free coffee is available!

Located near Yatsushiro Castle Ruins – very convenient for getting around! 💕

Great location. Nice breakfast and nice public bath.

Good service and very clean rooms. Breakfast has long hours. Close to a conbini and a lot of small restaurants that are open late.

Rooms are spacious and bigger than average in size. Staff were friendly and let us check-in one hour early.
