Our Superior Double Room was so spacious, clean and well kept with a modern feel and facilities. Importantly for us, it was very quiet at night too.
Breakfast is served within “Two More Beers” and was very good, with many choices. The Cruffin shop attached to reception was quality too. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient at check-in and out.
Finally, the best bit of all. If you want to walk out of the hotel and within 30 seconds be in the heart of the Old City at St Peters - your location couldn’t be more perfect.
We would absolutely recommend this hotel, one of the most central we’ve ever stayed in a city without having to compromise on noise pollution and quality.
The location is close to perfect. You’re embedded in Old Town Riga, but without the constant sense of congestion or noise that can come with it. Everything is walkable — cafés, architecture, quiet streets, and landmarks — yet returning to the hotel feels like stepping slightly aside from the flow of tourists and back into something more grounded.
The history of Konventa Sēta is palpable without being heavy-handed. The buildings date back centuries, and instead of erasing that past, the hotel allows it to inform the experience.
Overall, Konventa Sēta offers something increasingly rare: a hotel that prioritizes place, spatial experience, and atmosphere. Between the beautiful room, the joy of having light and windows on multiple sides, the calm spread-out layout, and the deeply rooted sense of history, it’s a stay that feels memorable for all the right reasons. I’d return without hesitation — and recommend it especially to travelers who care about architecture, context, and how a hotel makes you feel over time, not just at check-in.
The only con about the hotel was the breakfast. It is organized in collaboration with the pub/restaurant next door. Unfortunately the breakfast was very chaotic in the weekend. Almost all the bowls were empty, there weren't enough tables for the hotel guests and the layout of the pub wasn't suitable for a buffet and for that many people. The breakfast also felt very basic and I would have hoped for more options and varieties of food.
But all in all, we had a pleasant stay and got our stomachs filled at the breakfast every morning. Also a big thanks to reseptionists handling and printing out receipts for us and being very kind and service-oriented.
Breakfast was also good, although I didn't like that it was a free for all with no system, it meant people were barging into others and there was no Que system to prevent it.
This was the only negative, everything else was fantastic and we would 100% recommend and stay again if visiting Riga
