Hyatt Regency Kinabalu in Kota Kinabalu

This is my second stay at the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, and the experience was excellent once again! 👍

📍 The location is absolutely perfect, right in the city center. It's a 5-10 minute walk to shopping malls and duty-free shops, and even closer to Durian Street and Gaya Street, making it super convenient for dining, shopping, and exploring. In the evenings, it's lovely to stroll to the night market or the seafront.

🛏️ I highly recommend the high-floor sea-view rooms. The views are unbeatable 🌊, and watching the sunset is breathtaking! The rooms are spacious and clean, the bedding is comfortable, and it's perfect for family trips. They even offer a complimentary extra bed, which is a thoughtful touch.

🍽️ The breakfast deserves special praise! There's a wide variety of dishes, and the freshly cooked noodles and rice vermicelli have different toppings each day – the beef and tendons are incredibly flavorful 😋. The Teh Tarik (pulled tea) is rich and aromatic, and the croissants are thin and crispy, unlike any I've had in China! The Chinese-speaking staff even help prepare the Teh Tarik, providing friendly and attentive service.

💁 The staff are always smiling, proactive, and enthusiastic. Communication in Chinese is largely seamless, making you feel right at home.

We booked a twin room, but the beds are really more suitable for one person. With our child, it felt a bit small for the three of us. The hotel's location is excellent, making it easy to get anywhere, and it's close to the sea with a great spot to watch the sunset. As for service, there's a Chinese translator sometimes, and you can usually get by with basic English.

The location is fantastic, just across the road from the beach. The facilities aren't as new as some of the hotels downtown, which is to be expected, but the cleanliness and service were absolutely fine. There are shops and restaurants in the nearby streets, and a durian street is just a few minutes' walk away, haha! The large window in the sea-view room was a big plus. Right downstairs is the pier where my husband and I watched the sunset during our honeymoon 10 years ago. Breakfast was plentiful, and the outdoor section of the breakfast restaurant has a lovely little bar facing the sea – so relaxing! My only regret is that we were a bit short on time this trip and didn't get to use the pool. My kid was already asking when we could come back as we were leaving.

The lady staff was very enthusiastic and provided thoughtful service; communication was a breeze. Taxis were readily available, and the buffet's flatbreads were incredibly delicious. It's also conveniently located within walking distance to Gaya Street, the jetty, and the beach.

The location is superb, very close to the jetty, Gaya Street, and the Filipino Night Market, all within a 10-minute walk. The room is large and clean, and the service is decent. Highly recommended for a trip to Kota Kinabalu.

This hotel is great! The staff and front desk were all exceptionally good and welcoming. The room was also very spacious and had no strange odors. It's located right on Gaya Street, which makes dining incredibly convenient. The jetty is also very close by. Definitely recommend!

Opted for the Grand Hyatt in Kota Kinabalu due to its superb location. It's really close to Gaya Street and Jesselton Point, and the Durian Street Bridge is also nearby. Getting to Tanjung Aru and Magellan is a bit further but a quick taxi ride. The room was spacious, though the bathroom door didn't close properly and water from the shower leaked out. Everything else was great! We arrived around 7 AM, stored our luggage, and by 10 AM, we received an email saying we could check in early! That was fantastic! When checking in, it's easier if you print out your Trip.com booking confirmation. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

It's a short 10-minute taxi ride from the airport, which is super convenient. The hotel has a great outdoor pool that's really fun to use at night. It's also very quiet here in the evenings. After checking out, I stored my luggage at the front desk, and the overall service was very attentive.

Hyatt never disappoints. Even though the hotel is quite old, it's very well-maintained, and the service is excellent – warm and efficient. The location is superb; you can walk to Jesselton Point and many highly-rated restaurants. Suria Sabah shopping mall is right next door, which is great for shopping. It has nothing but pros; it would be even better if the room furniture could be updated!

Hi. We just checked out today. We really appreciate very good services and hospitality by Hyatt Regency Team Kota Kinabalu. From bellboy, to receptionist, room service and restaurants all were very friendly and helpful. Plus, stay with my parents(senior citizen) and aid by wheelchair to move was very convenient as we got helped by the staffs. Thank you!
