Resorts World Hotel in Pantai Tengah

Summary: Book this hotel only if the view is your top priority. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

Facilities: The facilities are very outdated. Although the 'premium sea view room' is advertised as renovated, it still feels old. I recommend choosing with caution.

Cleanliness: The cleanliness was extremely poor. The sheets and duvet covers had various stains. When housekeeping changed the bedding, the duvet was dragged directly on the floor... The room's floor wasn't very clean either.

Environment: The hotel is located in a corner of Langkawi, and the view is quite nice.

Service: When I tried to request a twin room in advance, whether it was days ahead or on the same day, the front desk consistently replied that it could only be arranged upon check-in. Even when Ctrip officially contacted the hotel on my behalf, the response was the same.

I had mixed feelings about Resorts World Langkawi. The location is genuinely beautiful and can be a big plus if you want peace, quiet, and a scenic setting away from the busy areas. However, in practice, that calm is often broken because multiple cruises dock nearby and there’s steady foot traffic around the property through the day.

Unfortunately, the bigger issue for us was overall upkeep and basic hospitality standards. The maintenance felt below what the online ratings suggest—stains on walls, and cleanliness gaps like hair in the room and bathroom. We also found the in-room essentials surprisingly limited: for a family room with 4 guests, we were provided only 3 towels, and additional towels were chargeable. There were no hand towels, and basics like indoor slippers weren’t provided either.

One practical problem that really impacted comfort: during rain, water leakage from the windows. If you keep luggage or bags near the window (even slightly close), items can get wet.

On balance, aside from the setting, the overall experience felt average and closer to a 3-star standard in terms of quality and service. Breakfast was the main highlight and the strongest part of the stay.

I’m sharing this feedback because the property has real potential, but it currently doesn’t match the expectations set by the Google/TripAdvisor ratings. Improving housekeeping checks, maintenance, and ensuring adequate essentials for the number of guests would make a noticeable difference. Also, clearer communication about the nearby cruise docking/foot traffic would help guests choose based on what they’re expecting.
