The room itself was great; I stayed in a pool-view room. However, the room rates fluctuate wildly. Just a few days before my arrival, the price of the sea-view room dropped to the same as the pool-view room. I tried to negotiate an upgrade, but they wouldn't allow it. Also, when my friend and I checked in together, I was required to pay a deposit for my room, but she wasn't for hers. Could the hotel please explain why?

The hotel's location is super convenient, with a supermarket, mall, and plenty of dining options nearby. The balcony was a nice touch, very comfortable, although for a sea view room, a lot of the view was actually obstructed. There's a 200 MYR deposit required at check-in. It's just a few minutes' walk to the beach, which is great. We even got welcome drink vouchers and enjoyed a lovely evening by the pool with a drink!

This hotel truly saved our vacation. After a very bad experience elsewhere, Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang was a complete relief and exceeded all our expectations.
Everything was clean, modern, and well maintained. The rooms were very comfortable, the beds were excellent, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. The location is perfect — close to the beach, restaurants, and shops, yet very peaceful.
The staff were extremely kind, professional, and always willing to help. They made us feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for throughout our stay.
Honestly, this is one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. Highly recommended, especially for families. We would definitely stay here again without any hesitation.

Our room was on the first floor with a single window facing the hallway, which was completely dark. The photos on Ctrip showed rooms with proper windows, which led to a misleading impression. I didn't notice the small print about 'windows' in the standard room description when booking, and it turned out to be a pitfall. Given the hotel's architecture, I assume most rooms are like this – dark and windowless – making an on-the-spot room change impossible. Spending over 1000 yuan for such a room offers poor value for money.
Overall, the hotel service was decent, and the breakfast had a good variety, although the quality was just average. Coming from Penang to Langkawi, I definitely felt a drop in standards. The hotel's location is good, providing a quiet escape despite being in a bustling area.

The room was nice and very clean. Everything else was great, except for the check-in process which was a bit slow. The surrounding area has a lot of convenient dining options, and it's super close to the beach, perfect for walking over to watch the sunset. Shopping nearby is also very convenient.

I think it would be helpful if the hotel could actively inform guests about the risks of swimming at nearby beaches, especially during jellyfish season.
Although there is a warning poster in the main lobby, many guests may not notice it or understand the seriousness of the situation. It would be safer if the hotel reminded all guests directly about the potential danger, along with basic advice on how to protect themselves.
This kind of information could help prevent accidents and ensure guests enjoy their stay more safely.

The room exceeded my expectations. The location is great, right next to a convenience store and a small mall, and only a few minutes' walk to the beach.

Excellent! The front desk service was great! Plus, I even got a complimentary soft drink! Such a thoughtful touch! Just a heads-up, it's best to bring Malaysian Ringgit for the deposit, as card refunds can take up to fourteen days! OMG!

Yeah good food as always but no toilet, you're joking guys. It was just me ordering the biggest combo possible and the guy asked me "anything else?" Life if my order wasn't big enough already ahah employers are not happy in this place.. just saying.

Food ok, very disorganized, very slow workers, you can wait 30 min to get your orders taken on cash, because the man/lady on cash is the same who prepare the order. It needs more active team with better management, and increase the manpower there.
